Hi Maria, we have been reunited! He was home in July of 2020. Once his visa was approved at embassy it took about a week for it to be issued. Have you tried contacting the embassy to see what the hold up is? We were able to get expedited processing because of my health. What country is he in? Each country is so different so it is super hard to say how long it will take.
That great news!! My husband has been in El Salvador over a year now because of the 6 month treatment process plus COVID closures etc. did you get expedited process to get his visa or to get his appointment? The consular officer told him it would take about 8-10 days for him to get his passport at the conclusion of his interview. I reached out to them on Friday 3/26 and they said his passport is still being processed, hopefully this week! We just maybe thought that the whole medical exam process was delaying the issue of the visa.

Im going through this now with my husband. He just finished his year and has the physical scheduled for 2/27. Embassy told him that he would need to file an i-601. In total once all of this is done it is looking like 2 years total. Please someone who has gone through this! Any insight???
Hi. Hope you can assist with my questions. My husband went through this process but due to alcohol and only for 6 months. He had his interview on March 18th and was approved, but not visa yet. How did things end up with your husband? Are y’all finally together? How was the process? Thank you in advance!

Hi! Same thing happened to my husband recently. Did he finally get the visa and if he did how long did it take?

Hi. Same thing here. They told my husband it would be ready for pick up 8-10 days but status went from administrative processing to ready. Apparently the passport is still at the embassy, but not sure why.

He was told that there is an internal technical issue that isn’t letting them see the medical file (he had the exam and tests done about a month prior to the interview). Apparently as soon as it’s resolved the visa will be issued.

Hi All.
my husband has his interview on March 18th and officer told him it was approved. When I checked his status the next day it read “Administrative Process” and as of yesterday it reads “Ready”. Any idea what this means?

Hi! My husband went thru the same process in El Salvador. They finally issued the visa yesterday 3/29. When did your husband get his visa? Did it really take 15 days?
