  1. You may want to ask a Tax accountant - there are several factors affecting this - 1) Does your employer has nexus in USA (Are they doing business here)? 2) How are they paying you? (In a bank in Holland or with dollars - a check mailed to you for example?)

If you are a resident by the end of the year - then you will need to file taxes on your income from all sources (you may be able to exclude some or all of the foreign income). As far as doing this - I think it's OK - I am assuming you would get an EAD. Good Luck

1)They are not doing business in the US and would

    2) pay me through the bank (outside US).

It would only be for a max. a couple of months (until EAD?)

  2. Zoals YuandDan al schreven komt de K1 informatie niet op het automatisch systeem aangezien de doorloop tijd kort is! Je zult dus met iemand moeten spreken.

Like YuandDan already wrote, the K1 information is not added to the automatic message system because they pass the NVC quick. So you have to talk to an operator.

Hmm mijn verloofde heeft 1 of ander trucje gedaan met DHL tracking. Daarop konden we zien dat het onderweg was etc (wel gokken dat het idd jouw case betreft).

  3. The purpose in creating this thread is two-fold; it would be good to keep a track on each other's progress but also because there is seemingly an issue with some applications received by California Service Center in mid-August, it seems necessary to maintain contact with people who are concerned about the filing of their petitions. I noticed a few people have posted concerns on another thread but it might be useful to keep things all in one place.

Here's my story: I mailed my K1 Visa application to CSC on 27th July but it was not received until 15th August, therefore I am technically an August Filer (although I would love to say I am a July filer, ho-hum  )

Anyway, I have yet to receive an NOA1 or have my check cashed and under some good advice from a member on the July Filer thread I did a timeline search to see what the status is for NOA1 issuing for August.

What I noticed was very interesting; There is a range of 11 applications sent between the 8th August and the 24th August and not one of us have received NOA1's as yet. There are NOA1's for all other applications sent in August before the 8th and for most after the 25th.

My fiance and I have been wondering whether to resubmit our petition (in our case, this would mean resubmitting with the new fee, which I'm less worried about than the actual time lost) but, it looks to me like CSC have a wad of petitions they are unaware of. This is not one or two applications we are talking about - this is a whole set of applications received between two specific dates (and these are just 11 we know about).

Those of you planning on resubmitting might want to hold off for a while - not least because USCIS have said they will honour the received date as the start date for queuing purposes.

I hope this information is of use to some of you. Those of you who have received NOA1s: congratulations and good luck! Let's keep in touch with one another on our progress.

    Thanks,

    Tracy :)

    Next time search first please:

  4. OMG you people really have no respect for fellow human beings. Your country is run by illegal immigrants because you guys are to lazy to do those shitty jobs yourself. I see strong negative emotions towards this guy but I'm baffled by the lack of rebellion against your own country...yet. The only reason for this is that you can still sit on your own ### and feed your kids and thus you don't complain...but the fact is that the US has one of the largest national debts and it keeps growing because your government decides (and thus the people are responsible...i believe your constitution says "we the people..") to pump money into military ####### that only benefits a handful of stockholders.

  5. wouldn't that be nice; I could drop by with tea and biscuits ;)

no; I originally had the date from the USCIS website there - 27th of July - but bszoom (the Master of the Lists) had a different idea about which date to put (you look on the hard copy of the NOA1), and the date that appears there is July 19... I don't think there's one Right Answer, but it suited me to go with his idea in this instance ;) (plus I think he's very smart ;) )

Where in CA are you? or are you going? lol My fiancee is from SF

  6. Natsman, I do not understand the logic behind European date format. Or PC friendly date format. When I speak I say today is September 9th, 2007. Month, day, year. simple. I wouldn't say today is 9 September. Nor would I say today is 2007, September 9. Sorry, was just reading your signature. Is it really necessary to shoot down the format of US dating? No matter how you write it, people will understand what you mean. To make it easy I just wrote mine in a format the government uses. ;)

My reasoning is it goes either from specific to less specific (dd-mm-yyyy) or the other way around (yyyy-mm-dd). Writing it out like you does make sense as that is how its said in English. The number format is still weird lol. I'll remove the signature

  7. It is a good country to live in, I'd never say otherwise. but the fact that the guy was comparing it to India makes a lot of his points invalid. For instance, the U.S. doesn't provide a good standard of living for the average citizen - we're quite average citizens, but our opportunities are very limited and our quality of life is low. Of course, I bet we would be worse off if we lived in India, but we would be much better off in a socialist country.

And I don't even want to comment on the "gentle and noble" foreign policy

BTW, the highlighted part would be too much even for someone like O'Reily.

I agree on this one. It depends very much on where you're from. I can imagine somebody finds it heaven on earth when he/she is from Sudan

  8. my fiance and his family are catholic....my family is also catholic, but i do not claim to have a religion...i dont believe in organized religion

to my fiance, it is a very big deal that i say that i am catholic, and that i mean it

he told me that he wouldnt bring me to his parents house on christmas, because it would be fake...

question 1: why is it such a freaking big deal?!?!?!!?

    question 2: any advice?

It is a big deal because from your fiance's perspective, saying that you are catholic and meaning it is a big deal.

You feel strongly against religion; whereas he is strongly for it... He doesn't want to bring you to his family on religious occasions. To some people, religion is very very important. To some people, they don't care. And there are a lot of people in between those two extremes.

Since you both feel so strongly about this issue, you need to either compromise, agree to disagree, or part ways... My advice is to come to a decision about how important reaching an understanding about this issue is as compared to how important your relationship is.

    Best of luck!

"You feel strongly against religion; whereas he is strongly for it"

She did not say she is against religion but she respects it. She is just not religious, which could be due to her childhood (which is a VERY strong influence on whether you end up being religious or not). This is a "If you are not with us you are against us" attitude.
