  1. I have a question that my not be important for many, but I am concern about it really.

    Point is:

All who are getting the NOA2 these days, are planning to go to your soul mates for Christmas? I mean, think the visa will be ready before Christmas holidays?

It is not a joke. It is the first time in my life that I am in a situation which is not in my hands to fix and I feel kind of handcuffed because I can not plan ahead.

  2. Luciana,

having the police certificate(s) at the time of your K1 interview was a requirement when I had my interview. Since the Mexican police certificate appears to be hard or impossible (?) to obtain I would suggest contacting the consulate you will be going through to get a definite answer as to whether it's needed or not.

And Swiss or not, you live in Sweden. Welcome aboard ;)

Thank you for your answer SanDan,

I am working on that police certificate, I see that almost every body is getting the NOA2 already, so soon will be my turn too!

And when the time comes, I want to be ready with all my documents.

  3. Well... Maybe all I needed to do was post on this forum for something to happen. I just posted this topic 2 days ago and guess what... Yaahoooooooo... I received email notification today that our petition is APPROVED!!!! WOW.. What a feeling. I called Oksana at 3:00 AM Russia time to tell her... I think it's safe to say that she didn't get back to sleep this night.

So... for all the veterans out there, what can I be doing now to get prepared for what I will need once the NVC forwards to Moscow? Anything other than the financial documentation?

Wooooooo hooooooooooo Congratulations to you both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fiancee contacted the consulate in Bern and she was given the list of the documents we need to provide. She already went to the accredited Physician in Geneva, got her vaccination done and the Xray and all. Basically she was told that once the application arrives in Bern, the appointment can be scheduled within a week. You may want to check for yourself, but they seem pretty cool, as long as all the paperwork is correct.

    Good luck

    Stephan

    That is being really Swiss!

And i am thinking to do the same, that way I have almost all together when the time comes and not running in the last moment.

I am sure that the employees at the USA Embassy in Stockholm are cool too and might not be much people asking for visas, so I believe that once the case reach the Embassy in Stockholm, it may go fast, therefore is good idea to have all ready if possible.

    Thanks Stephan!

  5. Please don't kill me for asking this (you can give me a link if you want) - How long are K1s taking on average at the CSC right now? I guess what I mean is from the time you send the petition to the time they send your case to the consulate.

Also, when you mentioned them hiring more people...what is the general opinion in terms of this actually making a difference and speeding things up? I know any kind of bureaucracy like this typically takes a long time, but are we still looking at an average wait time for the last 5 years, or are things REALLY bad right now?

    Thanks.

    Hallo Andrewmeier,

Your question regarding how long it will take for the CSC from petition till all reach the consulate... huh that is the mystery we all would like to know.

The CSC says, now it takes 6 months and i believe it. We have 4 months already and we just got the NOA-1 = Notice of Action Form I-797C (Receipt Notice) And waiting for the NOA-2 = Notice of Action From I-797C (Approval Notice) we hope it comes soon, at the end of October, beginning November... could be.

After those NOAs, we get from the USA Embassy 2 packages with documents and instructions to full fill and send back to the Embassy, after that, if all is ok, then we get a date for an interview, then we get the YES!

But how long it will take, can not say, any case take different amount of time depending of what we send or not or when.

Any ways, I am planning to spend Christmas here in Sweden (I live in Sweden), but if all is done before that time... woooo hoooo, that will be extra bonus! Will take a flight right to my love!

I think we should keep positive and just full fill the documentation they required and wait.

    Good luck to you Andy!

  6. Well we´re very angry and sad because we´ve realized that we sent the wrong size of passport-photograph :crying: , we sent in the size we use to take to official organism here in Spain, so they´re smaller than US kind..., we also sent another one but is bigger than 5x5cm, (the biggest we sent was like 10x6 or something like that)...

So what can we do now??, we´ve been already 90 days waiting, and this will suppose a RFE with no doubt, and I´m afraid that this will take 1 month more because I suppose that as they check that there´s something wrong with the attachments, they won´t even open a "file" for us and let the photo till the end, I think they won´t do nothing until we send the correct photos

So if someone is ready to send it....don´t forget to check this before, mainly if you´re in Europe where things are a little bit smaller

Well I suppose we won´t get our NOA2 this month anyway....

    Whaaaaaat?????

My! 5 x 5 centimeters is huge... to frame it! Well... then i sent the wrong size too.

But before going to take more pictures, I really want to make sure it is the right size, it seems too big to me.

I am sure it wont delay the process of the files, just we will be asked to send them the right ones which will be added to our files and the process will continue.

  7. Don't worry. They are still working on petitions filed in May. At least you got your NOA1 in a timely manner. Many got theirs late or not at all. Hopefully they'll finish with May filers and begin on June filers soon :)

    Thank you U2rsobad!

What you wrote and what I read from others here, make me feel better, I really thought we were doing all wrong and that because reading post from people who already got married since years ago, lol Of course it drove me in desperation, but now I know we go in the right path, now even my soul mate will feel relived, poor man I was on him like "I think you don't do enough"

Ah, I will sleep so good tonight, I know we are not alone.

  8. Check your timeline, but what I can say is that we began on may, got our NOA1 on june 1st from Vermont (just like a week after sending more or less), and since then nothing. We also have called to the USCIS customer service with no results

I don´t know what´s going on in CSC, but in Vermont waiting times seems has been duplicated...

    Hola Velside!

I thought all K1 visas were sent to California Center, well mine was in Nebraska and right in those times they changed for California. Well may be yours still got to stay in Vermont, lucky you, because I think California is really congested now.

We applied on June the 1st 2007, got the NOA1 on June the 12th they cashed the check of course, but that is all, nothing more, no biometrics nothing. Also called didn't help, congress man investigated but got the same result, we have to wait. Well, here trying not to get crazy and waiting for the NOA2

    Good luck to we all!

  9. Hi!

I have missed this post which is the one I should have checked since the beginning.

We applied on June 1st 2007, got our NOA1 June 12th and that is all, no more notifications from immigration offices in California, no biometrics and here we are still waiting and sometimes getting desperate, there is so many questions and concerns, sometimes I think i don't do enough, but... is there something we can do? Calling didn't help at all, my boyfriend has got in contact with the congress man but they got the same answer that we got in the NOA1 alas... nothing but we have to wait. There is times I feel too tired for just waiting.

I think going with you all in this line will help me to read how everybody that has applied about the time we did is going and steps to follow and mostly... not to turn crazy.

    Luciana

  10. Oh my, here i do not stop worrying, now is regarding Biometrics.

I was reading in the Swiss one that usually people is asked the biometrics right after the NOA1 (I am with K1 visa) and most late 2 months after the NOA1. Well, we got the NOA1 on the 12th June 2007 and no notification for biometrics, nothing at all. Is it normal or should i began telling my boy friend to call the offices there in USA?

And i thought i was in peace even planning my next trip to Mexico for next year, lol

    Saludos

  11. I didn't think that Finland was in Scananavia............

And this is a problem for you because...??? I don't see how your comment is relevant. I could have started this thread for people from the Nordic countries but Scandinavia is a more familiar word for many people. Anyone from Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland is more than welcome to come and join the discussion in either English or any of the native languages spoken in those 5 countries. I figured it'd be nice to have a "meeting place" for people from the Nordic countries, their (future) spouses and perhaps a few visitors, as well.

Ofcause Finland is welcome here. I actually am proud that so many Nordic people is in here anyway. Bad comments is always around SanDan.

    Indeed!

Besides me as most here, came to this forum searching for advice and help or to give in case we know some information. But not to argue about nationalities. I live in Sweden and is amazing to see the good communication and neighboring there is between all the Nordic countries.

I thank you all, for admitting me as Swiss in the Scandinavian forum.

Now regarding the PC police certificate:

I was told in another forum that it is optional for the K1 visa (which is the one I am dealing with now) but when I make the next step after the marriage, then IT will be asked and this time wont be optional.

If it is optional (and somebody corrects me if it is not for the K1) Then i will present the Swedish PC, which is so easy to get through internet, I got it already. Well then... I think i should begin planning a trip to Mexico next year after marry, to visit relatives and friends and... to get that famous or infamous PC!

    Saludos amigos!

  12. Hi Johnnie!

You are right, I may be to early to begin moving consulates and I am afraid that it may delay my files. I will check when the time comes and they assure me it doesn't take longer, then i will do it, otherwise... I better go to Stockholm.

You assume right, i put Stockholm in the I/129 F

Thank you so much for sending me the links where i can read what is going on regarding the police certificated. I also got a link where it says there is no police certificated for certain countries, includes Mexico, since Mexican police, do not have records of peoples residence. So I was a little confuse, because... is it regarding regarding residence? I thought it was to prove I am not a criminal. I send you the link, so whenever you have time, would you be so kind to give it a read?, point is that I may understand one way and if someone else read it, well may have other point of view.

Here the link and please let me know what you understand of it. http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/wwwfdsl1083_e.pdf

That link is from the US Consulate in Ciudad Juarez Mexico.

  13. Hej Anette, tack ska du ha!

Bad news for me and I wonder how I will get the Mexican police document, huh , I asked today and seems I have to go to Mexico, it sounds so illogical really. Still have to investigate more, now I am in a Mexican forum too, but doesn't helps too much since I am not applying as Mexican and i am not there.

Yes it is the F-129 fiance alien petition, just the beginning.

I will see what will come, even though i am costumed to fix all to avoid non gratas surprises, but in this case seems that... i cant do anything. It makes me think that I may attend Yoga class to relax lol

Any ways, whatever someone knows or can inform how it goes about the interviews and how long it takes since from they tell you until you go to attend the interview, that would be so kind.

    Luciana

  14. Hello everybody!

It is the first time i am posting here, so i wonder how it will come out.

I have a concern, indeed, my case is kind of complicated and i am getting confused.

Point is, I was born in Mexico and lived there for many years, I am Swiss citizen due my father, but I live in Sweden. Applied for the K1 as Swiss.

It is regarding the police document that may be asked. Since I have been living in Mexico much after I was 16 years old and couple of years here in Sweden, it means they will require one from the Swedish and another from Mexican police?

Then, I live in Malmö, will I be asked to go to Stockholm for the interview? I mean Copenhagen is just across the Öresund!

How is it about the medical tests that may be required, does any one knows? Here in Sweden we have all medical records in the clinic where we live. Or are we send to a specific doctor?

Please if someone could help me with some of information, I am quite confused and it is already about 120 days since we got the NOA 1, so, soon the rest will come and i feel kind of lost with all that.

    Thanks!

    Luciana
