Hi SanDiego91, a quick question for you. Were you asked to write on a tablet (ipad) for the writing test?

Also you said they did not ask you to explain the meaning of Yes/no question from N400 section 12 right?

1/yes! don't worry about bad handwriting (by finger). just make sure you write what they tell you!

2/ yes! For sure they will ask all of "YES" questions, and half amount of "NO" questions!

P/s: Just got my oath ceremony date on April 27 ( 19 days after interview)

Congratulations and thank you for sharing. I am also in San Diego. Is it easy to find parking? Also if you were bit changing your name, would they allow you to take the oath ceremony today?

They have the parking in front of the building but costs 15$ for 2h. I believe if you do not have name changed, you can take the certificate right away. ( my friend took her certificate right away after interview 2 days ago). For my case, i need to wait for the judge’s signature

  3. Love to share my naturalization interview based on 5 years residency rule with divorced decree this morning in San Diego CA (04/08/2021).

I came to the USCIS office 15 mins before my interview at 10.30. It took 5-10 mins for checking with security and front desk receptionist. I then waited for 10-15 more mins and was interviewed by a nice lady officer. She first checked the civics test with 6 questions (why are there different representatives, name one of longest river, ocean in east coast, what did susan fight, how many year for president election and what event in Sep 11 2001?), next with english test ( where is the White House? And the White House is in Washington D.C). She quickly doubled checked my personal information (name, DOB, SSN, address, phone number, travel trips, job, divorced status) and Yes/No question (no meaning). She congratulated me for passing the interview but because I have changed my name so I need to wait for the oath ceremony which takes place on april 27th. P/s: remember to tell the officer your traffic tickets what I forgot to file in  the question 23( paid, pending or dismiss...) She would love your honestly. I though my case is more difficult than the others due to my divorced decree after getting 10 yrs green card but it went very smooth and fast. She did not ask any questions about my previous marriage at all. Good luck everybody!

  4. Hi! I will have my N-400 interview on April 8 2021 based on 5 years residency rule. I divorced with my ex on Feb 2019 after 4 years of marriage ( 6 months after getting 10 years GC). The interview letter only requires me to bring: GC, passport, selective service registration and divorce certificate. I know the OI may ask some questions about my previous marriage. Should I bring some documents just in case they ask for those:

+ old health insurance/ old car insurance/ old car registration with both name

+ ask bank for old statements (since we close the bank account 3 years ago)

+ tax returns ( 2018-2020 for single filing and 2016-2017 for Married Filing Jointly)

Whoever had the same situation, please share your experience! Thank you so much
