  1. Is there another interview? There can be if they did not interview you the first time around. There has been a LOT of speculation as to whether or not the second interview is required if you "dodged the bullet" the first time around. you are required the second time around if you filed after July when the fees went up (that was the speculation) I just proved you don't have to. Just have lots of kids really fast.

  2. There has been much debate and speculation about whether or not an interview is now required. Example if you dodge the bullet the first round, when you go to remove your conditions you get pegged for an interview. OR if you did not get so lucky the first time around and had an interview you might/ might not have one when you remove conditions.

Well, I we dodged the bullet the first time around (no interview on Change of Status) when they found out she was pregnant the interview was canceled. Long story on that one. Now I just got an e-mail stating that a card was ordered on April 4th and to allow 30 days for it to arrive (I figure I should realistically get it this week) So this time no interview, no interview invite and we DID file after the magic July whatever it was date (filed Dec 12) And we are about 3 months ahead of what the California Service Center says processing times are for that one (the web site last said they were processing Sept 17)

  4. We are in Nicaragua. Her passport has her maiden name on it

Her Cedula (national ID card) has er maiden name on it

    Her Residency Card expired

we have her NOA with the WAC-08-###-##### saying the is entitled to everything her residency gave her because it is exteneded for 1 year while beeing processed.

Now, Who here knows what kind of guff they are going to give me when we return next week? Just second screening? We are coming back together. She left 3 weeks before me (to visit) that was the plan

Also What kind of ####### can I expect from Airport Security in Houston to make our connection? She has no other form of photo ID. Only that expired residency card. Now, 2 years ago we were able to show a legal name change with our marriage certificate (which whe have :-D ). Is airport security going to pitch a fit because her Residency CARD expired if we have the letter with us? I mean the card expired, not her or her new name right?

  5. Just before thanksgiving I sent off the I-751 I believe it is (remove conditional status) my wife's card expires 1-27. Our service center is the Texas service center. Our local service center (for biometrics) is Memphis, TN. She will be leaving Dec 9 - Jan 13 or Jan 9th (still not sure yet) I have not even got an NOA yet (I assume that should be in this week)

How does the whole appointment thing go? With her being gone that long (I will be leaving Dec 29) Could we potentially miss out on our biometrics appointment? Or do they have US call and set up her biometrics appointment? Also how much time in advance do they typically give? If she is gone and I get the letter and it says she has to go say Jan 3? What do I do? Can I call them to reschedule because she is out of the country. Also, what does she have to do to leave the country with our little ones?

  6. You also may want to check to see if your wife can get her passport through the Nicaraguan Embassy in the US. The Ethiopian Embassy will renew, replace, and issue passports via mail.

Not about to try that. IF we attempt it, it will be more than one trip to Miami and would be faster for her to get citizenship and an UN-expdited U.S. Passport. Daniel Ortega the current president/trying to call himself prime minister/wannabe dictator again. Has already said there will be no ¨cedula¨renewals outside of Nicaragua (Cedula is a national ID card and a must have to Vote a passport cannot take its place which is the STUPIDEST thing¨ He knows if he does that there will be a bunch of people come back just for the elections to vote againts him. SO...... If that is the case with cedulas, passports are next. and anytime they have a passport shortage, outside of Nicaragua is always the LAST to get them again particularly the U.S. now. So no, our safest bet is to go back to Nicaragua and get a passport renewed within 1 day or 1 week. Though their embassy passport service SHOULD be more convenient I do agree and you would think it possible and their web page says it is possible, but when you ask those trying and read the news you find out otherwise.

PS I take back every ugly thing I ever said about our embassy there in Nicaragua. We went 1 year ago brought my daughter without her passport but with our marriage certificate and her birth certificate. Once we finally convinced their goverment to do what they have always typically done when a turista es tonto and does something as dumb as we did, and escort us to our embassy, We got to our embassy they were kinda close to closing, but they took us in like George Bush himself had arrived and gave her (my daughter) a passport on the spot

  7. Okay I am a bit confused. She has permanent residency about to expire 90 days from today. This week we will file the I-751. BUT, before she gets that other card we would like to travel back to Nicaragua and really will HAVE TO because her passport expires in May of next year. Does she HAVE to get ANOTHER I-131 Advanced parole once her card expires or can she travel with the document saying her stuff is beeing processed and old card (if they dont take it from us when she does her biometrics?

  8. Alright, I am confused. My wife's Permanent Residency runs out in January, 2008. Her permanent Residency Card is a normal green card but it was only good for 2 years. Do I still apply with the I-751? Even though everything she has says perminent resident and nothing about Conditional? When should I apply? I am thinking of doing it now before rates accross the board go up. :help:

  9. :help: Our neighbor (up here illegally) has been telling my wife that we need to apply for WIC since the birth of our new baby. Now, from what I understood out of all of the Affidavid´s of Support (I-134 and I-864 (or was that I-846) We aren´t eligible. IF we apply and are approved we have to Pay it back and she stands a chance of getting deported.

Or, are we eligible if we meet the income recuirements? (I don´t think we even meet those though) Does anyone know if we can do that? Is it risky
