  1. oh i forgot to mention that you might have sent your birth certificate, or marriage certificate with the I130 and not the documents afterwards so who knows what they might have done with them.. originally i sent a copy of my birth certificate with i130 and not the original, so im not sure if thats why they want it now...

  2. My wife is bringing her mom and pops here to the US. My wife is a USC and is acting agent for parents. I-130 has been approved, AOS fee paid, and DS-3032 sent. Concerning the I-864... can we just pay the DS-230 IV fee ($400) online and then send the DS-230 and I-864 together to the NVC? Any help much appreciated..

I have heard sending them separate is the best thing to do since DS230 and I864 are reviewed in different departments but I could be wrong.....it would make sense to send them together since both of them are going to the same address. I wouldn't take a chance if I were you though...

its right you have to send them separately. on the cover sheet it says attn: cmr aos, but im waiting for my other cover sheet for the ds-230 so i guess it makes sense to do that.. good luck...

thats what i plan on doing.. i just paid the $400 fee then im gonna mail them both together sometime next week. i think as long as you have a cover letter in front of each form it might be fine. good luck..

  4. First of all, congratulations on your fast I130 approval.

I am also working on I-130 for my parents, they're in INDIA. Please let me know what type of documents you sent, cover letter sample etc.

    Thanks,

Thank you all.. i pretty much just sent what they asked for on the form.. i filed for my mother, so i sent her birth certificate because her name changed due to marriage and marriage certificate because they wanted to make sure she was the same person on my birth certificate.. good luck to you..

  5. When I took the oath ceremony the emphasis was really on informing Social Security. The did talk about getting a passport, and registering to vote but both these were kind of optional. However they again and again stressed on going first to the Social Security office and informing them of your change in status.

I have been a citizen since 1986 - I was never told that and I never informed SS - because they are irrelevant for me - my retirement is from a private institution. The SS card doesn't say anything about being a citizen on it either, does it?

  7. Hello,

I just did my naturalization ceremony today so I am finally a citizen. Good luck to all who are waiting. I am just very happy its over and done with.....

    Congrats

    what did they ask you?

would u share with us please !

They didnt ask me anything. All i had to do was bring in my greencard and a sheet they gave me and checked off if there was any changes since my interview such as marriage, name change or travel out the country and provide proof. I signed my certificate then we had the ceremony which lasted about 40 minutes and they handed out the certificates to the 32 of us who were getting naturalized. Then they told us it was over and we all signed up to vote if we chose then we went home.
