  1. Hi

I got my IV stamped on Feb 1 /2008 .I received form I-797 "Welcome Notice" and my online case status states that approval notice was sent ,so what does that mean ?

Does physical green card come with the approval notice ? if not

When expect to receive my physical green card ?

    Thank you in advance .

  2. Thanks so much for your help! For your interview, did they conduct it in English, is that a requirement, or is usually done in Arabic, cause if someone can't speak that well English, makes it more difficult....do they ask you any off-the-wall questions, or just the usual, i.e. how did you meet, where did you meet, etc....??

    Thanks again.

The interviewer asked me in which l prefer to be interviewed (Arabic or English ) , so no problem with this issue .The questions were very simple.

    Good luck !!

  3. Thanks for the reply...So was your Visa a CR-1? I would really like to know how the Embassy in Damascus operates - after your interview, did you receive the actual Visa the same day, or have to come back some later time to get it? I wonder how long it takes, if not same day??

    Thanks again!

I did not receive my visa the same day cause I had to provide some missing documents . Usualy the visas in Damascus are picked up on Thursdays at 12 noon .

You can visit the embassy website at :

    damascus.usembassy.gov

  4. When I received P4 from the embassy , there was a letter from the embassy and a list of physician . I called one of the physicians in the list and took an appointment .At the time of medical examination all i needed were my passport and the letter from the embassy .

The doctor filed some forms on his computer while he was asking me some questions (about somking,drugs,operations.....etc ) . Then he printed the forms and placed them with the embassy letter in a sealed envelope.

P.S : My case was generated and processed by the embassy in Damascus .

  5. well my hubby had his interview... and el hamdulillah it went well!!!!!!!!!!! :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: well they gave the standard two weeks and you will get your visa...and said they will be using DHL...bas inshAllah kheir :) I hope it comes in that time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) EL HAMDULILLAH ITS OVER!!!!!...well at least until we get the visa inshAllah :)

now a random question...alrighty...so my hubby had his passport taken from him...and fingerprints and all that good stuff...but my question is...should he have received some sort of packet of forms to take to the airport at the port of entry...like i know inshAllah he will receive his visa...but someone told me there is a packet he should give to the officer at the POE...and now i am confused because my hubby did not get anything other than the DHL receipt...??? any clues on this... what exactly whenever he does get the visa so i am prepared inshAllah should he present at POE... is it just the passport...or what?? he is applying for a CR1...ANY help on this would be greatly appreciated!! i really hope the cairo us embassy did not forget to give him something...that would truly upset me :( take care!!! :)

    congratulations

I think he should receive a brown envelope along with the IV in his passport .

At the POE he will present the brown envelope to the officer and then has his passport stamped.

  6. Are the items that are in the brown envelope returned to you? Especially, the medical information.

The brown envelope technically is your immigrant visa. The machine-readable immigrant visa in the passport is just supplemental actually, before machine-readable visas were required, all you got for a visa was the sealed brown envelope.

The brown envelope contains what will become your A-file upon admission. That means it has the approved petition and the approved visa application together with all supporting documents. These documents in the sealed brown envelope will become classified information upon arrival in the U.S. and cannot be shown to you even under a Privacy Act request (A-files are exempted from disclosure in the interest of national security).

So no, nothing in the brown envelope is returned to you, ever. If you wanted a copy of the medical information, you need to request such from the panel physician that prepared it. If there are original documents you want back, go to the consulate and have them remove them and replace them with copies and re-seal the envelope.

    supporting documents?!!

Could you tell me exactly what are they ?

  7. Can anyone help me with this

When I had my interview, I got 221(g) cause of missing documents . I submitted the missing documents and renewed my passport (that I used at the time of interview ) cause it was about to expire and got a new one which has a new number too . Then I was issued an Immigrant Visa on my new passport . My question is :

Is there any problem with situation ?

  8. My case was created and processed in Damascus embassy .

When I received my immigrant visa there was 2 digits added to my case number (01) (printed on my visa).

Are these additional two digits indicate something or there is an error and I have to call the embassy

  9. I had an interview in Damascus embassy but not for K-1 visa .

Anyway here is some of questions I was asked :

How many brothers and sisters do you have ?

    What is your study?

Do you want to continue studying in The US ?

Where is your father now ?

Where is your mother now ?

Does your father married in the US ?

Do you live with roommates ?

    I hope this is helpful
