  1. tyousuf,

About your post earlier, the form DS-156 did you fill out this form online or paper copy and do you know why they need two copies?

Applicant’s Parents Information. (This is new requirement) What form did you fill out for this?

When did you file your case ?

    Thanks!

No idea why they need 2 copies of DS-156, They sent us the form in packet. It will be a good idea that you fill out

the from online first to make sure you have all the required information. Then once you have the form, from them match the version/release/expire date of the form. In my case the form that I download online had different release/expiration date (new form) then what they sent to me(old form). Since I had all the forms filled it saved lots of time. You can apply same method with all other forms.

I-134 needs to be notorized with someone In US.(This is the proof of your domecile also)

Parent Information form was sent to us by embassy with packet 3.5. This form asked very simple father/mother info of applicant. Name/ DOB etc.

For those who are intrested to know cost of medical:

    In karachi including vactination/Blood Work/X-Ray found to be b/w Rs/= 6,500-7,000.

    Good luck guys....

hey guys can green card holder apply for his parent's visa or should he wait for citizenship?any idea?

I don't believe a green card holder can apply for his / her parents but they can apply for thier spouse and process take very very long :(

  3. Not a good idea. My lawer clearly said to me not to go with my wife for interview.

According to I-134 (Affidavit of Support) petitioner's domicile should be in US. If

you are going with her in this is the voilation of that rule.

In past this has happened with few people, that told petationor to go back to States. report to local

USCIS Office then we will re-schedule. if you want to go then don't go inside the embassy. Stay out side ;)

    to hear happy news :)

Thanks for the reply, but my interview is for a K1 visa, and I heard of people going with their fiance to the interview

If you have submitted I-134 then there is a question in it " domecile of petionor". If you search on travel.state.gov for

futher explaination that you might find what I mean.

  4. Yes you need to mail all the forms and other required documents including pictures/old passport/bank statements/police clearance etc. There is a big list of things needed to be sent (both orignal and one copy of each).

Also make 2 copies of each document that you are sending (one for you and one for your spouse)

    ......

    tyousuf,

Can you please include the complete list of documents that they asked you to send with packet 3.5? I just want to make sure if they have changed or added something that I should get ready for. Also, did they ask for an I-134 Form or an I-864 for Affidavit of Support? I am fairly sure that for a K3 (non-immigrant visa), they need I-134 only but want to check to make sure since they keep changing policies.

    Thanks in advance!

  8. Thanks for the reply Gohar, it's true that K1 people have to send the packet, but some K3 people had to take it with them in the past. So, I am wondering has the procedure changed with the new year or what? If some K3 people who had experience with this matter, please reply

    Thanks.

    Salam,

I just have a question about your K3 packet 3.5. Did the instructions say that you have to mail the forms back to ISB in packet 3.5 or bring it in person?

    Thanks

Here is our time-lines for K3 Visa:

Called them yesterday. Was told, we should be getting Packet 4 in one week also they are giving out

mid to end of march interview dates for K3 applicants.

We mailed our packet back VIA the service provider they stated in the packet.

tyousuf: Do you know your interview date?

Yes you need to mail all the forms and other required documents including pictures/old passport/bank statements/police clearance etc. There is a big list of things needed to be sent (both orignal and one copy of each).

Also make 2 copies of each document that you are sending (one for you and one for your spouse).

To send them you need to contact american express. (American express told me that I will get all the orignals back.)

I called Consulate yesterday and was surprised that they have scheduled interview earlier then I expected.

The date of Interview is "15 FEB 2008".

Here is the summary of our ISB K3 processing...

*Recieved packet 3.5 on 27th of Dec.

*Sent the back on 9th of Jan ( don't rush and send incomplete documents/ send with a cover sheet explaining list of

documents will be a good thing :) )

*Consulate recieved it on 14th of Jan.

*Reviewed documents and scheduled interview on 15th of Jan..... I know you will say they are fast ;)

    *Expecting packet 4 on 17th or 18th.

WOW!!! Looks like ISB is breaking all the records and picking up the pace. may be they had enough rest in holidays :)

If any one need template cover sheet with list of documents then I will be more than happy to post.
