  1. Hello,

I am confused about online website is changed recently and now states that PDOS is requirement and a seminar at CFO Office and to have online reservation at least 5 days before attendance? Does anyone know anything about this requirement or is seminar the same as CFO Guidance and Counseling Seminar needed to take at PRISM? y fiancee needs her CFO stamp and dwe are not sure of the requirements now? thanks to anyone who can clear this up for me? I have website info but not sure of process required to tell fiancee?

hi! i just attended the seminar for those petitions by their SA last friday in their branch in katipunan inside the good shepherd convent. i just filled out forms and listened to the counseling and film showing. then paid, got their certificate and my passport was stamped.

you just need 3 photocopies of your passport, the biographical part and 3 too for your visa part.

pdos is being given by the poea for those who are working abroad.

  2. thanks to you all.

i pray that those on AR too would be getting their visas very soon. i know how unbearable the pain of waiting is. since my interview it is only now that the thought of leaving soon have sink in on me.

    just hang on vjers!!!

  3. hello to the most patient people on this earth!

i am totally out to celebrate today as my visa finally landed on my hands.

it has been a long journey but i look forward to another long trip going home to my husband, who i have not seen for six months now.

keep the love alive as we wait for our reunion with our loved ones.

fyi: interview = april 22 while nso verification request = april 21.

  4. they will be included in our prayers too.

i have been sulking too for it will a month now since my interview and i got no visa yet. but this post have made me realized that there are others who are facing greater challenges in the journey to be reunited with our loved ones.

i hope dbear's kids's x-ray results come out normal. i want to share that i was also devastated when i learnt of my daughter's positive tb skin test so she underwent a chest x-ray too. after a couple of sleepless night we went back for her result and it was normal. so i hope it will be the same case for you, gay.

we vjers must unite in grief and in joy.

  5. the journey is still not over for me too. i paid for verification of document on april 9, then was interviewed on april 22 and got a white paper along with that pink paper for delbros.

verification request was only sent to nso on april 21. i learnt from use last week that nso has forwarded the result to them. that was tuesday and grace asked me to call back afrer a week.

so this morning i did. only to be advised to call back in a week or two (AGAIN).

i do not know until when should i wait.

without the visa i am losing the push to prepare on leaving soon.

it has been 3 weeks and 2 days since my interview and it has been 3 weeks and 3 days since i paid for that annoying document verification. my visa is nowhere in sight. :crying::crying::crying:

i called up the infamous ms. grace and informed me that they have already got the result from nso. she advised me to call them back again next week and not to make any travel arrangements yet.

the waiting is far from over.

  7. Last May 12, I already received a sms confirmation from DELBROS about my document verification payment. I want to personally call the Document Verification Department & talk to person-in-charge, Mr. Robbie using my cellphone (Smart). I know their phone number is 3392761 loc 104 but I'm not sure about the area code #. Is it 22?

    Thanks.

hi! you can call them by just adding the area code here in manila ... 02 .. so just dial 023392761. good luck!

  8. i had my medical last month and went to slec at 12:30. i finished my day one almost 4.

if there is no problem the following day the result will be released and will be immunized. they will advise you what time you should come on the 2nd day. mine's at 1 pm and i was out before 3.

    good luck.

oh, from airport to slec ... allot travel time of at least one hour.

  9. yes you can. i went for an early medical too. my interview date was april 22 and my slmcec schedule was april 15 but i went ahead on april 2. just bring your appointment letter or print out the one from the visa appointment online.

    good luck!

  10. i understand what you are going through. last april 2, i went for a medical with my 4-year-old daughter. when we came back on the third day for her tst result the attending doctor said she was positive and was recommended for chest x-ray. it devastated me.

upon reaching home i surfed the net and found out that most likely she had a false positive tst result due to the bcg she got when she was an infant. or she might have been exposed to tb but it doesn't mean she is sick.

the things i have read on the net washed away my worries. plus the fact that she never showed any symptoms of tb ... none at all.

we came back for the result and when the computer on the ground floor security flashed a big immunization ... i was so relieved!!!

having four shots all at the same time was a different story altogether.

  11. yes, much better to go there in the afternoon.

i was scheduled for medical on april 15 but i went there last wednesday for an early one. i just showed the nvc noa2 and the printed appointment sked for them to entertain me.

me (k3) and my 4-year-old daughter (k4) was already there at 11:30 a.m. and ended day one at 4:30. the physical examination took the biggest chunk of time we spent there.

on day 2, thursday, i went alone since my kid's tst result was not out until that friday. i was there by 1 and was finish with the immunization by 3. i was advised to get my release papers the following day along with my child's. however, the next day, the tst result came out to be positive so they did a chest xray on my angel. i had a sleepless night, worried that she could be afflicted by tb. and since monday is a holiday, we waited until tuesday to get the outcome.

i blurted a loud "yes!" after the screen at the guard flashed a big "immunization" on her number. so we proceeded to the 2nd floor where she got 4 shots and 1 oral. we arrived at 9 and was released by 1:30.

Thank you for this one. I'm gathering info on medical experiences of K2 and K4 applicants as my kids (K2) will also be having medical with me. All the kids' experiences that I read really help me prepare my own kids for the event. So thank you again for sharing.

To Chris & Shasha. Good luck for the interview!

i am like you too. i have been checking on postings concerning kids ... from the time my husband filed our petition and until now.

my tip: bring something that would keep her busy during the boring waiting time. i brought new paper dress up dolls and a new math activity book for my daughter and she turned out just fine. also, bring some cookies too.

  12. yes, much better to go there in the afternoon.

hi there! just went to slec today. arrived there at 12:30pm...there was no lunch break! they were all working! and there were no lines!!! everything was a breeze!!! i suggest to everyone here to go there same time. i ended up all day 1 tasks by 3:00pm! and the staff at slec were all courteous and accomodating ...i guess am just lucky they were all in a good mood!

i agree to that ... even the security people are courteous. if only all offices have a staff like them.

i give the system at slmcec a big thumbs up.

  14. My dates seem so close to yours. The letter I received from NVC is dated 02/22/08, which stated within a week it will be forwarded to Manila and my Case is NNL2008550xxx, but my girl or I haven't received any thing yet.

I didn't see a thread for us April interviews. If you have an April interview date at the US Embassy Manila lets keep each other updated and supported!

My interview date is April 22nd.

i have not received any thing yet but my husband was advised by a letter from the nvc that they have forwarded my papers in the embassy here with case number MNL2008xxxxxx on the later dates of february.

what i did was to make a call on their call center on the first week of march but the agent said that the embassy is still verifying my papers. on the 19th, after reading that the embassy has a new procedure for applicants, i called up their call center and was so happy to learn from the agent that i was eligible for an interview and right there and then chose a date to do that. you don't have to wait for a packet .... make that phone call now.

i have an april 22 appointment.

  15. hi! my usc husband received mail the other day from the nvc that they have forwarded my K3 papers in manila embassy and that i should be getting a packet any day soon. i just would like to ask you how to go about the K4 visa for my daughter? please share with me your knowledge on this. thanks and would appreciate your replies.

I'm not too familiar with the K-4, but I can only assume it is similar to the K-2. If so, you can either have them take the medical and interview in order to have their visa issued at the same time as your visa or if they will follow to join later they don't need to interview and medical until they are ready to go. If the child will go with you, they will have to attend the interview and have their own medical. The interview will be the same interview with you, but the medical will take longer. Depending on the age of your daughter she might get a chest x-ray or a skin test for TB. The skin test takes 48 hours to read so it turns a two day medical into three day medical. Then if there is a positive result on the skin test, a chest x-ray can be ordered, which could take another day. I only say this as we were not prepared and thought it was still a two day medical for kids too.

You will need to fill up a DS 156 and DS 157 and I-134 form for your daughter too. Just no DS156K is needed. You need to pay a visa application fee at the bank and get the DS-157 for each of you. Its per person, not per interview for the fee.

It should explain it too in the packet 4. Take an early medical if you can do it....just in case there is a problem.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Post a specific question if you have one.

    Scott

thahks for the reply. yes i would like to have our medical in advance ... well, i haven't receive the packet 3. i am calling them up on monday about this. what are the things i should do to the medical in advance? like, what papers should i be showing them and how can i make an early appointment at st. luke's?

  16. hi there!

my k3 papers are now in the embassy...waiting for packet from them. now i am wondering how to go about the k4 visa for my daughter. yes, we listed her on my I129 form.

and also, i want to find out if she can come with me at the same time when i leave to united with my usc husband?

    would appreciate your replies.

    thank you vjers.

  17. Hi Everybody,

    :help: please.

We are in the homestretch with the I130 filed by my USC husband in May but i am holding back sending the DS230 at NVC because of my four-year-old daughter from previous relationship.

It was only in October that we have learnt that my husband needs to file a separate petition for her so it was only around that time that he had filed her own I130. Until this time we have not heard from that particular application, not even a notification of acceptance. So i am holding back the process of my application for my daughter's to catch up with mine.

Now i just received a notice in my email regarding our I129. First time they are updating us. But it's a RFE.

Although our I130 case is almost complete i would prefer the I129 because correct me if i am wrong but it would give my daughter a K4 visa to leave with me at the same time. Which i think the I130 would not let me do that, for my daughter to come with me at the same time.

I need your opinions on this matter VJers. :help:

The daughter can leave together with you whether K4 or CR2.

    Hi Pushbrk,

Really, she can leave w/ me in either of the two visas? :star: Tell me more please. Do i have to put her then name on the DS230 which asks for names i have listed under children who will be travelling along with me?
