My thai wife just had her CR-1 interview in Bangkok. VISA GRANTED!!! It has been a long time and i still am in shock! I didnt talk to much on this site, but used it as a blue print...it got me the visa. I will type a review the interview in that section.

Great news, the visa is at DHL in Cairo they said he should get it in about 4 or 5 days now!! Thank God he called cause DHL didn't call him. Happy Turkey day everyone

I sent in I-130 app back in Sept 07. I am still waiting for NOA1 (I-797) which should not come as a surprise to anyone familliar with the comments USCIS has been posting lately in their weekly updates.

Does anyone know

1) If I can have my wife apply for a tourist visa while the K3 application is currently pending

2) If there are any LEGAL restrictions against applying for a tourist visa while the K-3 (I-130 and I-129F) is in process

3) If there are any LEGAL restrictions against travelling to the US on a tourist visa that will jeopardize the K-3 visa application

Please don't opinionate. If you know any links to the uscis that touch this topic or have first hand actual case experience please share them. I couldn't find any conclusive evidence one way or the other in the forums.

As far as I know you cannot apply for any other visa while this one is in place. Depends on which country your person is from. Better that you go and visit or meet up in another city.

what exactly did the tell you when you called dos before they gave you hermans email?

Are you talking about before? Well before they gave me Hermann's e-mail I called to complain that in Cairo they are never helpful and say the same thing all the time. So I asked if there was anyone higher up that I could talk to and they lady then gave me his address. Since then things have been moving quickly. I don't know.

Good morning everyone...I hope that all are having a great day. I am hoping for a uneventful week at work and since I am cooking Thanksgiving Dinner this year...I guess I need to do some shopping!! I am hoping to have the letter from my RFE (keepiog my fingers crossed)

Well I have some good news! They approved him for the visa and said he will be recieving it in about two weeks time. I am excited. Just waiting now. At least we know for sure he is approved!

Ok well I recieved an e-mail last week from Hermann someone from Cairo. He said that my fiance will recieve his visa for sure and that he was approved from his interview. He said he should get it in the mail in two weeks. Sigh!!! I am very happy at least he is not denied!

Just wondering....if he gave them his passport then how does he fly? Am I missing something? Where is he flying from to Cairo?

He lives in another city not cairo. But he is in Egypt

I don't know. I e-mailed last night but because of the holiday I won't hear anything for a few days. GRRRR I just want to know something. They really need a better system. I am taking the foreign service officer test soon and I hope I get a job there so that I can change the system!!!

No, they never said anything and the second time they just called him like one day before and said can you come in the morning and he was like no, I can't. So then they gave him 3 days to get there., They were really mean to him and interrogated him and finally at the end they said, ok I will do you a favor and give you your visa in 6 days. That was last Sunday! Bizarre! I don't know what is going on.

I mean we already went through 2 security checks and AP time. What the &%$& is taking them so long? I am dying here!!!

Does anyone know where that thread is where the person listed all possible contact numbers/emails? The email that I got back says to contact Deputy CG/Visa Chief David Potter but it doesn't state his contact information.

btw in the email that i did send I mentioned how the interviewer asked about intimate details of our sex life. Hopefully something will be done about that but who knows. That still gnaws at me when I think about it.

Actually, they are not closed on Saturday, they just don't take phone calls. The Department of State gave me this guys e-mail. I can get it for you. The DOS is very helpful if you call them.

The first interview was with this Black guy in August. Second interview was with a differnt man. Someone a little higher up than the other. Actually they are not closed Saturdays. They just don't take calls... They said we should recieve it by DHL by Saturday.

Really they have always been very helpful for me everytime. I don't know. I haven't seen my fiance for 1 year and 3 months. I am tired of waiting for this stuff. I can't believe they have no consideration for people. Hopefully when they say six days it is for real. I mean they told him "You will recieve it in 6 days" I guess that means they are mailing it...

Sounds like he passed his interview so that's really great news!! I am sorry they gave him such a hard time but at least he passed. As far as recieving in 6 days!! I don't know about that one that sounds like your usual Cairo far fetched story, but you never know he might get it in 6 days i sure hope so. I wish you all the best and a speedy A/P so he can be reunited with you soon

Hello everyone - Didn't see a Tuesday thread, and thought I would start one. I hope that everyone is having a good morning, those of you that are awake...I plan to start the car early today, as yesterday morning I didnt...and had to make do w/a CD case to scrape my window - as do you think I could locate my window scraper - ummm not so much...anyways..CD cases work well...

Well I think I have good news. After several e-mails to some guy named Herman who is the boss of all those people who send the e-mails. Mohamed had a second interview on Sunday and they told him he would get the visa in 6 days. I wonder if it is really true. We are finished with AP time and Security checks. Hopefully!

During AP process nothing can be done. Trust me I have called everyone. I spoke to someone named Herman who is a big wig at the embassy. Just hang on through AP process and when it is through they will get in touch with you as they did me.
