  1. I found out on my b-day while I was on vacation in Peru, it was amazing, I was just 6 weeks and announced it during the surprise party my parents threw for me,it was awesome  .

Mommies I'm leaving to Peru on Saturday night, taking a direct flight via Lan Chile the only problem is that Sofia will sitting on my lap (yeah right). The prices for her own seat where outrageous, way too much, so we decided to not buy her own seat.

I'm freaking out about it, I'm so nervous, I know that is direct and during the night while she sleeps (sometimes happens) but still, I don't want to be uncomfortable, I don't wanna make nobody uncomfortable. I have tomorow to start packing and run some errans before leaving, it's so crazy, I'm missing my hubby already, I know I bother him so much about this trip but a part of time doesn't want to go now (did I say that??)

    See you tomorrow girls!!!

Wow Vi you are going already??? I imagine all the things you have to do right now! how long are you going to stay? I am going to stay one month and yeah I am already missing my hubby...buuuu :( Is the first time I am going by myself and the first time we are going to be separated for that long, I think is good, but we are going to miss each other a lot, but he has to work! and I have to relax....hahahaha :P . Have a safe trip! and I am sure you will be fine!

  2. I found out when I was 5 weeks...I thought I would get my my period because I had the usual symptoms I always had, but stronger, and I remember I was in a bad mood...and told my husband how upset I was because of my symptoms...and my breasts were reaaallyyyy hurting a lot. A few days later my hubby was calling me asking how was I feeling and if I ever got my period, I told him no, and he suggested to buy a pregnancy test, and I told him no, because I was sure I would get it soon, and I didn't want to be dissapointed, but at the the end he bought it, he took it home with him after work and I read the instructions and decided not to do it that day....LOL, but the pregnancy test was staring at me...lol. I did it late that night, and it was positive, I was so nervous, then took my husband from the computer and I told him to check the test, and he told me you are pregnant!!!, and I told him noooo, maybe you bought the cheapest one!lol I am going to buy another to be sure, but he already wanted to call everybody to let them know, I had another next test the next afternoon and it was positive...again  . To tell my parents who live in Peru I called and told my brother to connect the web cam so I could see their reaction, I told them and they were soooo happy, they started to cry  and of course me too...The first weeks I was like in shock...now I am just soo happy...Well ladies have to go to work, have a great day!

  7. Hello guys, I have a question, how many of you have changed your Peruvian passports or Peruvian ID names? I mean, my passport and DNI (ID)is still with my single name, I went to Peru last year, but just changed my address, I didn't change my names because they asked for a lot of things, and didn't have enough time, anyway...my passport expires in March of this year, so I want to renew it but should I changed my name to my married name? Is it necessary? what do you think? thanks in advance for your replies, by the way, Happy Valentines day!! (L)

  9. Well, today my wife went to get her medical exam.

The doctor has told her she is missing 3 shots. So she gets them and the cost is 710 soles!!! thats about $240 USD!!!! + the $95!!!

Now is that a ripoff? Anyone had that experience before???

I am soo pissed off :'(

Wow, that's too much...I don't remember exactly how much I did pay, but the amount they are charging is insane!!! I think she can go to a hospital to get the vaccinations she requires, and that would be much cheaper, but she will have to go and ask. It's not an obligation to get the shots where she pass the medical examination, by the way I went Centro Medico Corpac, Dr. Oscar Situ, is the same your wife went to?

I found these places to get vaccinations in Lima, she could call and ask for the costs of the shots that she requires:

  10. How long does it take to get the medical results before your interview? Is it the same day as the exam?

You can take your medical exam 5 days before the interview, that's what they told me when I called the Clinic to make the appointment, and they give you the results the same day or the next day, but it doesn't take more days.

    Good Luck

    Maye

My wife interview is on the 17th and her medical exam is on the 3rd. Thats 14 days apart!! Is this a problem???

I don't think that's a problem, maybe it depends on each doctor or place where you take the medical examination.

  11. How long does it take to get the medical results before your interview? Is it the same day as the exam?

  12. :dance::dance::dance: Approved :dance::dance::dance:

Our interview was at 2 this afternoon. We arrived about 20 mins early, which was a good thing, since I brought my camera phone (I know, idiot) and had to take it back to the car before entering the building. My wife and son went in while I went to dump the phone, and I caught up with them in the waiting room about 10 mins before our appointment. A few minutes later we were called in for the interview, a little bit before the scheduled time.

After swearing us in, he went over the application with my wife while I kept my son entertained with the world map on the office wall. I think the hardest question for her was when she had to remember my birthdate. Spent a little time explaining about how I adopted my son before we were married, making her relationship with my son ???? Not sure what he ended up writing down for that. Then he asked about where and how we met. He asked for evidence that we lived together. I told him it was pretty thin, since she doesn't yet have a driver's license. All I ended up showing him was a credit card statement with both our names, and a health insurance statement for my wife and son. Had to explain how it was cheaper to insure them with an individual plan rather than add them to my employer's group plan. He looked through some pictures we had brought, showing us before, during and after getting married. He asked if we both had house keys, and compared them. That was about it, then he said she was approved and should get GC in two weeks. No stamp in passport, and he took the EAD. Said if we need something before 2 weeks to make an appointment.

By 2:11 she was calling her mother with the good news as we walked back to the car.

Congratulations zzzonzo! I got my AP yesterday and my EAD today!!! so things are moving!!  Tomorrow my husband is taking me to get my SSN

  13. Yo, yo, yo continuo!! (L)

  14. C and J, I will definately have drinks when we are finished with the Interview! I told my husband once we are finished with the interview the celebration begins in Peru... Very soon your time is coming too...

I imagine how excited you are!! have a safe trip and good luck!!, the interview is not difficult at all so I am sure you both will be fine, and after that don't forget muchos Piscos Sour to celebrate!!!!:lol:

  15. Well it was a long exhausting process yesterday but we passed the interview. What we thought was going to take a couple of hours ended up being 7.5 hours at the embassy. They had hundreds of students there yesterday applying for student visas and since we had the last appointment time for the K-1's we kind of got pushed back. We had a 8:45am appointment and ended leaving at 3:30pm, we should be able to pick up the visas on Wednesday, just in time for our flight that night. Thank you for everyone's help and kind words during this process. I will post the whole experience when we get back home. Our thoughts are with everyone for quick approvals.

Congratulations! Will be an excellent Christmas huh?. Hugs

  16. This case happened also to me , they sent the papers to the embassy in lima but I never got the package 3, so I decided to call and they gave me the news  , but I called just 4 days before my interview, so I asked for a new date my first interview was scheduled for July 12 and then they gave the new appointment for July 31, as I didn't get any paper had to go to Lima ( I am from Arequipa) and asked for the letter with they day of the interview, because you need that for the medical exam and they recomend me that the ME had to be 5 days before the interview, I don't know why. You just need to pay in the Banco Continental the fee just 320 soles is a little more than 100 dollars, just that. I am not sure about the forms for K3 as I was K1 but this site helped me a lot. If you think you need more time just call the embassy and re-schedule your apointment, better have some more days to get everything in order so she will not have problems they day of the interview, than do all in a rush. Well that worked for me. Good luck
