Those numbers are on the visa itself.  You don't need a packet to pay the $220 fee or to enter the US.  You need only the passport with attached visa.

Thank you very much, I was wondering if this were the case.

I wish they were labeled more clearly.

The $220 immigrant fee is for production of the Green Card.  The actual plastic card will not arrive until the $220 fee has been paid AND the visa holder has entered the US.  Most people pay the fee after the interview, but before arrival in the US.

I looked into paying that online, but I needed an A number and DOS number, which is said to be inside the visa packet...

Many, if not most, consulates no longer issue an immigration packet.  All the records are transmitted electronically.

So, do we need to pay the immigrant fee online still for the "visa packet"?

Or do we just show up to the US with the visa in the passport and nothing else accompanying us?

    And pay afterwards or something?

  4. So our interview went well and my wife was approved.

She received her passport in the mail a couple of days later. It has the actual visa printed on it.

However on the website I keep hearing about this sacred visa packet. And to not open it and pay the fee and all.

However, we never received a visa packet was it supposed to come with the passport?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  5. So, we just had our interview earlier today and we were approved!

However, they told us we need to register Passport Delivery Information in order for them to return the VISA to us.

So, they say to go to the ustraveldocs website, and signup and all. However, we already had an account from when my wife applied for a J-1 visa a while ago.

So, we just log into that account, however there is NO option for "IV Register" like their document states us to select.

The only way for me to select delivery information is to schedule a new appointment. But we already had our appointment.

It is past the call hours of the Embassy / website.

    Any Help?

  6. Hello,

We received an email giving us an interview date of March 3rd.

However, we weren't sure if we could get the medical exam done in time before the interview.

So, we tried to reschedule the interview on the cgifederal website.

This prompted the NVC Embassy to call us and tell us to not do things on the website, that they will call us and reschedule when medical exam is ready.

And the March 3rd date is just a placeholder.

However, we did complete the medical exam and get results in time, but haven't heard from the NVC, should we still show up on the 3rd?

Or assume they will contact us again with a new date?

  7. Hello, so I am the petitioner for my wife, she lives in Singapore.

So far we have had a relatively smooth process to reach the NVC scheduling us an Interview.

However, we are having one confusing issue.

We got our Appointment letter and inside the letter it gives us a Time and Date for our Interview (March 3rd, 8.30AM).

Then it gives us a link to a list of things to do:

    Step 1. Register online

This process involves going to: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/

Creating an account (if one doesn't already exists), and entering document delivery information like address and everything.

Selecting a bunch of options and filling it all out.

Well, eventually we get to a section called 'Appointment date', however, it says "There are no available appointment dates".

But, do we need to select an appointment date? The NVC/Consulate of Singapore already assigned us March 3rd, 8.30AM in the Appointment letter.

It is concerning that on https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/, the dashboard says 'No appointment'. But the letter says a specific date...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
