  1. I had to file a 601 waiver for my fiance after he had went to the interview. It's coming up to a year since his interview. Does anyone know who we can email/call to get a status. All the cash number tells us is that the 601 application was received in March 2022. We have a child now and my fiance has been going back and forth to Canada for a whole year waiting on this process. Please help :(

  2. How much is an attorney costing for this sort of thing? I had an attorney quote me $5000.

My fiance also has a record for possession but we filed for a U.S. Entry waiver and have an approved one. However during the interview, my fiance was asked to have a 601 waiver done too. Now we are in the process of the getting that together. Anyone have an idea as to what the timeline is like for these waivers? Our visa approval is pending on the waiver.

  3. My fiance is a York region resident, currently with me in NYC expecting our first child :)

We finally received our "ready" from NVC to embassy and waiting for our packet 3 instructions. I found the online version just to get a head start and we are trying to obtain the police certficate. My fiance has a record from 10 years ago related to possession of weed and it's legal in Canada now so we've received a U.S. waiver to allow him to cross the border.

Is there a link that we can go order the police certificate or does he need to go in person? I see that fingerprinting is required, is it possible for him to get that done here? He has went through the biometrics part with RCMP for court records and the waiver.

Any sort of guidance anyone with a beneficiary in Canada can provide would be helpful. So anxious that we're so close but don't want anything more to be a drag. It's a just a money grab situation wherever we turn. :(

  4. Quick Question: My status finally changed to "In Transit" from NVC to the Embassy. I filled out the DS160 a while ago, can I just go ahead and send the packet 3 items prior to receiving the physical letter from the embassy with instructions? Or should I wait? I don't want to get ahead and be punished for it but I am expecting in March and I know they won't sympathize with that but I would like to have my fiance around for the birth of the baby.

  5. Hey all! Just got my NOA2 on July 13. As happy as we are to get to this step, we still don't know how long it will take for the consulate to give us an interview date. Looks like NOA2 from November 2020 are getting interview dates for august 2021 in Montreal consulate :( That's worrisome. I hope the interviews go through faster since the approval notice itself is only valid for 3 months. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us. Good Luck!

  6. NOA 1: Nov 25

    NOA 2: July 13

Just curious, on the case status website, it would tell you it's an RFE instead of an approval, right? Mine showed up approved so hoping there's no follow up items to provide. Any Canadian fiance here that are waiting for next steps? Do we have any idea how long from this point,  it will take to get to the consulate for an interview date? My fiance and I are expecting now and I know that won't expedite anything but it would be nice if this process wouldn't take another year and make me regret not just putting a spousal visa through instead.

Anyway, glad we've reached our next step on this journey. Hoping it's smooth sailing from here and less waiting around. Good luck to the rest of you :)

Uh wow, I checked my case status today for the heck of it, and it says our case was approved yesterday and a notice has been sent. I was a Nov 12 received date too.

This feels unreal; I wasn't expecting this until June-July. I hope everyone else gets theirs soon as well.

That's awesome!! Congrats.  Hopefully the montreal consulate picks up their game quickly as well. Keeping my fingers crossed for mine to go through soon. I cant stand the need to book these government issued hotels in order to see my fiance.

Has anyone here filed between November 23-30th and received a NOA1?

I filed on the 21st and it was received at the lock box by the 27th and still waiting. 😭

Mine was received at the Dallas lockbox on November 23rd. They cashed my check earlier this week. I went through an attorney so the notice will be going to my attorney and they haven't received it yet with the WAC# and such. If you go through this thread, a lot of folks that submitted in late November are starting to hear back from USCIS, so you should be hearing back as well soon (fingers crossed). Only issue now is they're going through a snow storm in Dallas now and power outages so I fear that they may be slightly more delayed now.

  9. My check is finally pending to be cashed!! Lockbox received November 23, 2020. I have no receipt number yet and probably won't receive a text since I went through an attorney. Hoping the attorney gets the letter soon with the WAC# so I can start the next long waiting period. Seems they're catching up pretty fast but hopefully it doesn't delay the total waiting period between NOA1 and NOA2. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

You can check case status here:  https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

I looks like they are up to November 23 now.

I hope you're right! Checking my bank account hourly now hoping they'd cash my check and can get my receipt number on the back of it to see if all is well. I try checking on the status link but I am not sure if mine would be a WAC or SRC receipt number. Depends on where the service center is. Thanks for the update!

  11. I filed the I-129F for my fiance in Canada (I am in New York, USA) through an attorney. The package was received at 12:49 pm on November 23, 2020 in DALLAS, TX 75266.

Check hasn't been cashed yet. I looked up using the receipt numbers in the thread and hoping to get my receipt in the next 2 weeks *fingers crossed*.  If anyone that filed around American Thanksgiving time, please let us know when you receive your receipt notice. Eagerly awaiting the check to be cashed.
