I wouldn't worry about sending a copy of the car title. Just send the joint car insurance info (along with the other evidence of your relationship) That's what my hubby and I did and we didn't get a RFE. Like Anh map said, it's normal for a car to be owned by one spouse.

I got my approval letter and my card in the mail today! I checked my status online and it said I was approved on March 17th. That was much quicker than I thought it would be! Congrats to everyone else who has been approved

. . and you can also include the travel documents (boarding passes, etc.) as part of your evidence supporting your married life together if you file when you return from holidays . You have time after you return to get everything filed in a timely way. I say do it after as well.

Thank you both for the advice! I think I will mail my application as soon as I get back in January. That way I can enjoy my vacation without worrying about important documents arriving in the mail while I'm away! If I mail it when I get back I will still have over 6 weeks before my Green Card expires. I guess that is enough time for me to receive my NOA

I'm not quite sure what to do.

My husband and I are planning on visiting England for 3 weeks from Dec 19th 2010 - Jan 7th 2011. The problem is my 2year Green Card expires Feb 23rd 2011 and I was told I had to send my I-751 after Nov 28th 2010 (90 days before the card expires)

I was wondering if I should send my I-751 just before I leave for England, because I want to avoid getting my biometrics appointment scheduled for while I'm in England. Or should I send my I-751 when I get back, or would that be too late???

How long was it til you guys got your NOA and biometrics appointment?

No I didn't get an I-1551 stamp at the interview. I didn't know you could request one. I told the interviewer that I was leaving for england in just over 2 weeks and he didn't offer me that stamp or anything. You would have thought he would have done that

So I can make an infopass and they'll give me that stamp right there and then? Is that how it works? I just bring my approval letter I got from the interview, plus ID? Do I make an infopass at the http://infopass.uscis.gov/ website?

I had my Green Card interview yesterday and the interviewer said that my case was sent for approval and I am a permanent resident and I should receive my card in 2 - 4 weeks. He took my travel permit because he said that I can't use it since it is no longer applicable to me.

The problem is that my husband and I booked plane tickets to England for March 14th (2 weeks 5 days after interview date) I told the interviewer this and gave him our plane ticket interary as proof. I asked him if I should receive my card in time for our trip and he said "You should do"

Do you think I should get my Green Card in time?

Please tell me your experiences... When did you receive your Welcome Letter etc? Did it have the Green Card number on it? Do I need a Green Card to leave the U.S or just to enter it?

I moved to Maryland, USA from Canada, two Octobers ago, after successfully going through the K1 Visa process. I applied for my green card soon after, and received permanent resident status with no problem this past July (didn't even need to go for an interview!). Just before I had applied for my green card, I got my Maryland ID card, at which time I was told my last name was legally changed to my husband's. I was waiting to get my SSN until after I received my EAD, but ended up putting it off until after I received my green card.

So three months ago, being a permanent resident, I finally went to apply for my SSN (especially for tax purposes). I brought in the necessary documents, and everything appeared to be fine. However, today I got a call from them saying that they've contacted Homeland Security multiple times, and my name keeps coming back as my maiden name so they can't issue me a SSN with my married name.

I don't understand how that could be since my permanent resident card is IN my married name! The woman from the Social Security office was not helpful at all, and simply told me that I must contact Homeland Security to have my name changed in order for my SSN to be issued under my married name.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know what I should do to contact Homeland Security in this case?

I greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me. This website was a lifesaver during the K1 process, as well as my AOS process.

I had that same problem today! I haven't got my Green Card yet but I do have my EAD (under my married name). I went to get my SSN and they said they couldn't give me one because the Homeland Security still has me under my maiden name. So I went to the DHS building and they told me to make an appointment with them and get an InfoPass online from this site.

I've made my appointment and I've got to go back to the DHS on Tuesday and tell them to update their records. Make sure you bring your printed out appointment notice and your passport, Green Card, marriage certificate and birth certificate, just in case.

After you've had your appointment and they've updated their records, the Social Security Center will be able to process you SSN. I would call them to make sure that everything went through

I just received my Green Card Interview letter today and it says that my appointment is Feb 23rd. My 2nd wedding anniversary is April 5th. I heard that you get your permanent Green Card if you've been married for 2 years.

Do you think if I talk to them at the interview they would give me the permanent card instead of the conditional one?

It's kind of annoying that we sent of the Adjustment of Status late October and expected it to take 6 months like everyone else. But it feels like they've purposely rushed ours so that our interview was just before our second anniversary just so they can get us to pay extra money for the Lifting of Conditions!

Me and my husband are about to send off for my AOS, but we've just changed address a few days ago

I've just done my AR-11 online and phoned up the 1800# and the lady said that they would receive that information in about a week. Should I phone them up in a week and confirm it?

I know that my husband needs to fill out a I-865 (sponsor change of address). The lady said that I can send that form in with my AOS.

Should I do that? or should I send I-865 to the California Service Center (we live in AZ) and then send off the AOS to the Chicago national mailbox?

Thanks everyone for your help, that's calmed me down a bit. Yeah, I know that I should have applied earlier; I wish we could have... We've just been have a few money problems lately. We haven't had $395 at hand as of late. But now everything is sorted out and we can now start the processing. I was just worried that filing the AOS late would cause a problem

I got approved for the K1 Visa in February and moved to America a week later. We got married on the 5th of April (within 90 days of entering the country). But now its 11th of August and we haven't sent off our Adjustment of Status forms yet. Is that going to be a problem?
