I asked my husband about his school asking for immunization records and he said that there is no required vaccines to have to enroll into school.. Can you believe that?!!! 0_0
El Salvador is slowly burning down to the ground... I gotta get him out of there... lolMake sure you keep a copy of the inmunizations that he gets, you may need them later, USCIS got my medical records from El Salvador lost and those "approved" doctors don't give you copies, I had to go to another "approved" doctor to get another physical and if I had not have copies of my vaccination records I would have had to take them again. They are also useful when you get him enrolled in your medical insurance.

You have a very good chance of just walk-in and take them before your date as long as you bring the letter with you
because I live far away from the asc I have done both show up before and after the date with no problem.

updating our dates
We had our biometrics a day after our appointment and had no problem just walkin in, we did call before to make sure this was OK
however, I received a letter saying that the FBI could not process my finger prints and that I have to go again on 12/30
The manager at the ASC give us the following tips: I-751 are being approved without interview if enough evidence was submitted with application, he said that if we did we most likely receive card in mail very soon.
He also told us that we should return current residency cards once we receive the new ones in the mail, that we should go to the field office and return them at anytime or the day of the interview. He said that if these cards get lost or stolen and somebody else uses the information on them, we may have problems later.

2.) This sentence is causing me a few challenges. If you can give it your best translation.
3.) Alcaldia Municipal - municipal township, city hall, , town hall, or mayors office?
4.) RUBRICADAS - I'm guessing to translate this as: signed and initialed, signed with a flourish, signed and sealed, formally signed, or marked. Do I need to put in " "?
5.) Jefe del Reg. del Est. Familiar. - this is obviously the abbreviated version of #1.
6.) Confirmo: - then there is a guys name and signature. I'm guessing to translate this as: confirmed by, examined by, or witnessed by.

Do you know what the titles of the people are on your document? Such as undersigned head of family status registry, undersigned mayor and clerk, etc? It never occurred to me that translating spanish "legalese" would be challenging.
titles are different from one Alcaldia to another, if you give me the titles in your document I could try to help you translate. Yes, spanish "legalese" is very challenging.

Hello and thanks for everyones help. I'm working on translating our El Salvadorian birth certificate now and just wanted to ask for some help translating and maybe other options for getting it done. I'm stumbling through the process myself so that we can save much needed money. The document is pasted below with some changes to identity number and names blanked out to protect identities. I've also included my incomplete attempted translation below that. If you can correct or complete anything much thanks. I am curious about the numbers should they be translated at 21-8-000 or twenty one- eight- zero zero zero??? Also, does anyone know what a Canton is?????? Is it a town??
I would translate canton as a township it is like a rural small town
In the translation of my birth certificate by a professional translator
all the numbers are in letters for example
date: Fourth of June of nineteen seventy one
for id#: showed his Personal Identity Document number two million two hundred sixteen thousand three hundred and forty five
for the signatures if you can read the name you type the name like "name"
if is illegible you put "illegible" and under it the title like Head of Civil Registry
on hte bottom of the document it reads like this- use only if it applies to your document
* On the top right hand side of this certificate sit a round seal that reads: "GOBERNACION POLITICA"
* On the right side of the certificate sit two round seals that read: "MUNICIPALITY - EL SALVADOR, C.A. - FAMILY STATUS REGISTRY SAN SALVADOR"
Also the format of the translation was made to look just like the original in spanish, same margins, centered titles, same lines, etc
it looks like the copy cat the document in spanish and then replaced the sentences in english leaving the same format
they also translated in the back of the page the seal that was in the back of the certificate, again they made it look like the original
do not forget to attach on a separate page the "Certification by translator"

After a long wait since our case was transfered to California
we received an RFE for the medical records, so I had to take them again here in the US
since the doctor's office was in another state, he let me take the blood test in the town I live
and bring the results as well as the vaccines records (in original)
the doctor pretty much transfered the information into the approved form, sign it and gave it to me
Green card was issued 30 days after they received the additional info.
Date of approval 1/13/2009
I read in another post that USCIS finds it more convenient ( for them )
to send a RFE for the medical records than go look for them in the primary file
wich is the one sent by the embasy of our countries of origen.
If you notice this is very common for those who had their physicals done before the K-1 was issued.

Congratulations for the approvals and patience for the ones still waiting
We received a request for further information last week, they say my medical records are not in their files
and that I need to re-submit them.
We live in a rural area and the nearest approvel civil surgeon is 6-7 hours drive. I am traying to set up an appointment with him but at the same time I send an e-mail to the American Embassy in my home country to see if they can send a copy (I got this tip on visajourney). We hope to get this done in the next few weeks.

got the problem before I got the tests, as soon as they were entering the info on their system
here in SD your immigration status has to be confirmed prior to getting your Driver License or State ID.
They placed some calls and got approval.

Got EAD on 10/3 and went to tramit change of name on SSN, our information was not updated in their database, they received the application and said that they will send in the mail as soon as they verify; got letter in the mail today confirming verification and that new card will be mailed in two weeks.I had same problem at DMV when applying for drivers license.

Hi jeff & Sylvia congrats with your SSn. YOu said you had a problem with DMV when aplying for driver's license. Do you need to undergo the driving test both written adn behind the wheel? When did the problem occur when you are about to apply to pay for the driver's license or after you pass the behind the wheel test? Because I was able to pay for both state id and driver's license and passed the written test already , will take the driving test on nov 7, so if i dont have my SSN by that time , eventhough i pass for example , they won't issue me a driver's license? I just applied for SSN last week october 15 btw. Or if I have a printed certificate of my SSN will they issue me a driver's license provided i pass the behind the wheel test? ty

i actually wanted to ask you about that. weren't you asked for your ss number when you applied/took the written test at dmv? if so, could it be because you have a k1 visa as oppose to having a k3 visa? now, i'm kinda confused.
i've an appointment this friday and i'm thinking of rescheduling it since my ssn has yet to arrive.

AP mailed 9/22 and received 9/29,
AED was sent in the mail 9/30 but has not arrived yet
I am surprise that some July filers already got their AOS
could it be that things are moving faster? I hope so

Glad to see everybody is receiving good news lately.
We received notice requesting that I have my fingerprints re-taken, we are going to Rapid City
tomorrow morning, I hope this time they get them right.
Yesterday we received notice for transfer to California
does this means we will not need to go to an interview?

Today we received NOA's dated 7/30 and the letter with the biometrics appointment for 8/15
in Rapid City ( 4 hours drive )
We are happy that we did not receive any RFE and that we got the appointment so soon
