  1. Sorry about that. I made a mistake on my Timeline. It now reads "Packet 3 sent back 16th OCTOBER 2008".

I will ring them again, but can't see that they will take any more notice of me than they did before. They just told me to email, which I did. I dare not email again, as you know what they're like if you email them more than once about the same topic.

  2. Hello all.

I had not received Packet 4 by about 18th November, and had been waiting over three weeks, so phoned the Embassy to enquire. I was told that I should email the Embassy about it, and that my interview had been scheduled for 28th November .

I emailed the Embassy, explaining things, and have just received the automated reply so far (I used the code, so it was received).

I have made travel and hotel arrangements for my interview. I know the time and date of my interview.

I am worried that there may be some instructions in Packet 4 that I need to see. I have all the documentation I need (I think!): Birth Certificate, Passport, Statement of Support, Police Reports, evidence of relationship. I have also attended for a Medical exam and produced my vaccination records.

    I have three questions:

1 Will they let me have an interview without my appointment letter from Packet 4?

2 Is there anything else I need to take to the interview apart from the documents listed above?

3 I do not have a copy of the medical exam. I presumed it was sent direct to the Embassy. Should the doctor have sent it to me?

Oh, lord, I am so anxious! I know you all understand that feeling!

Any help with my questions would be so greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Emma

  3. I had my medical almost a year ago. I have my London Embassy interview next week and the medical is still valid. However, it will be over 12 months old by the time I travel to the USA (if granted Visa). I know I have to have a current medical for Conditional Residency and am planning to take another when I get to the US.

My question is: will there be any problem entering the US with my Fiance Visa if my medical is not current? It will be a couple of weeks out of date.

    Thanks for any help.

  4. I have been unable to work for some years because of anxiety disorder, which is steadily improving thanks to medication. I have had my medical and the doctor was not worried that I am a danger to myself or anyone else. My GP has backed this up.

Will there be a problem if the Embassy thinks I will not be able to work? My US fiance can support us both and has provided documentary proof. My interview is next week.

If you were applying for a work-related visa maybe - otherwise there should be no problem.

Danke Karinandotto! I have been really worrying about it. Have a good night. xxx

  6. I am confused. I have sent Packet 3 to the US Embassy in London. From other timelines, I see that Packet 4 is usually received 2 to 3 weeks after Packet 3 has been sent. However, the "Embassy Information" page says the wait is between 10 and 12 WEEKS! Which is correct please? I am so worried because I have been waiting 3 weeks for Packet 4 and don't know whether I should contact the Embassy or not to find out what's going on.

Could other London Embassy people tell me how long they waited between sending Packet 3 and receiving Packet 4?

  7. Yep, £200 for the medical, $100 for the K1 visa, and standard delivery of the passport with visa is (according to the courier's website) £14. Standard delivery does not guarantee you when the passport will arrive on the day. To specify a certain time, it's £5 for before noon, £10 before 10am and £20 before 8am. We did the most expensive, and they were on the doorstep at 7.15am!

Thanks so much for that - it's less than I had thought. I just love this exchange rate (while I'm still on English money, that is!).

I will try to do my timeline now.

  8. Hello everyone!

I know this might seem an obvious question and I promise I have used "Search this Forum" and gone on the Web, but I just can't seem to find out exactly what I will have to pay when I go to the Embassy for my interview. I know there will be about £200 for the medical, but what about interview fee, processing fee and issuance fee?

I look forward to any replies. Cheers
