Dear Braveheart. Thank you very much indeed! I really appreciate you taking the time. Good luck to you.

My interview is on Friday 21st Nov 2008. Packet 4 was lost in the post, so I found out my interview date by phoning the Embassy.
My question is: is there any particular way I should arrange my paperwork for my interview? Do they like it in a hard folder, or in plastic envelopes or what? Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry about that. I made a mistake on my Timeline. It now reads "Packet 3 sent back 16th OCTOBER 2008".
I will ring them again, but can't see that they will take any more notice of me than they did before. They just told me to email, which I did. I dare not email again, as you know what they're like if you email them more than once about the same topic.

Sorry to bump the thread, but does anyone have any ideas?

how long ago did you email them?
thank you. I emailed them on 11th or 12th November.

Please, what does "mbc" mean?

Hello all.
I had not received Packet 4 by about 18th November, and had been waiting over three weeks, so phoned the Embassy to enquire. I was told that I should email the Embassy about it, and that my interview had been scheduled for 28th November .
I emailed the Embassy, explaining things, and have just received the automated reply so far (I used the code, so it was received).
I have made travel and hotel arrangements for my interview. I know the time and date of my interview.
I am worried that there may be some instructions in Packet 4 that I need to see. I have all the documentation I need (I think!): Birth Certificate, Passport, Statement of Support, Police Reports, evidence of relationship. I have also attended for a Medical exam and produced my vaccination records.
I have three questions:
1 Will they let me have an interview without my appointment letter from Packet 4?
2 Is there anything else I need to take to the interview apart from the documents listed above?
3 I do not have a copy of the medical exam. I presumed it was sent direct to the Embassy. Should the doctor have sent it to me?
Oh, lord, I am so anxious! I know you all understand that feeling!
Any help with my questions would be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I had my medical almost a year ago. I have my London Embassy interview next week and the medical is still valid. However, it will be over 12 months old by the time I travel to the USA (if granted Visa). I know I have to have a current medical for Conditional Residency and am planning to take another when I get to the US.
My question is: will there be any problem entering the US with my Fiance Visa if my medical is not current? It will be a couple of weeks out of date.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks again, Karin. You are my very helpful friend tonight.

I know this is probably completely the wrong place to ask this, and that I should be able to find out by myself, but I just cannot discover how to update my timeline. I did it a little while ago, but I just can't do it now. Please help! THank you.

I have been unable to work for some years because of anxiety disorder, which is steadily improving thanks to medication. I have had my medical and the doctor was not worried that I am a danger to myself or anyone else. My GP has backed this up.
Will there be a problem if the Embassy thinks I will not be able to work? My US fiance can support us both and has provided documentary proof. My interview is next week.
If you were applying for a work-related visa maybe - otherwise there should be no problem.
Danke Karinandotto! I have been really worrying about it. Have a good night. xxx

Thanks, Charles, but I have no idea what your post is saying.

I am confused. I have sent Packet 3 to the US Embassy in London. From other timelines, I see that Packet 4 is usually received 2 to 3 weeks after Packet 3 has been sent. However, the "Embassy Information" page says the wait is between 10 and 12 WEEKS! Which is correct please? I am so worried because I have been waiting 3 weeks for Packet 4 and don't know whether I should contact the Embassy or not to find out what's going on.
Could other London Embassy people tell me how long they waited between sending Packet 3 and receiving Packet 4?

I am currently waiting for Packet 4. My medical exam expires in about 3 weeks. If it has expired by the time I have my interview, will the Embassy allow me to take another and put my application "on hold", or will it just refuse my application and I'll have to start all over again?

Yep, £200 for the medical, $100 for the K1 visa, and standard delivery of the passport with visa is (according to the courier's website) £14. Standard delivery does not guarantee you when the passport will arrive on the day. To specify a certain time, it's £5 for before noon, £10 before 10am and £20 before 8am. We did the most expensive, and they were on the doorstep at 7.15am!
Thanks so much for that - it's less than I had thought. I just love this exchange rate (while I'm still on English money, that is!).
I will try to do my timeline now.

Hello everyone!
I know this might seem an obvious question and I promise I have used "Search this Forum" and gone on the Web, but I just can't seem to find out exactly what I will have to pay when I go to the Embassy for my interview. I know there will be about £200 for the medical, but what about interview fee, processing fee and issuance fee?
I look forward to any replies. Cheers
