Have you tried asking the Angolan consulate in the UK what would be the process of getting it without going to Angola. If you still can't get it, you could try explaining it to the CO. Looks like DOS is aware of the civil conflict that occurred: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Angola.html "Comments: Due to a decades-long civil war, not all Conservatórias (registry offices) were able to maintain civil records. Therefore, some records might be unavailable."

This is amazing advice, I'm going to try everything. Thank you so much

  2. I was bought to the UK at the age of 5 from Angola, i think as a refugee. My mother refuses to discuss it with me and now we are estrange. But she wouldn't tell me even if we wasn't, i think she is traumatised by something. I am a British citizen with a British passport. We have been stuck in the NVC stage for a while of the k1 visa. But i know that at some point they will ask for a birth certificate, that i can't get a copy of, i know i was born in Angola Luanda, but i don't know anymore then that. What should i do about this? Or what can i give US immigration instead of an birth certificate? Or is there a way i can get a copy of my birth certificate since i know the city i was born? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
