I haven't been very active with the latest information since I left Sweden almost two months ago, but is it possible that the reason for processing K1's is the lawsuit? Before that K1's weren't being processed unless it was an emergency or an exemption to the travel ban and so forth, but then with the help of the lawsuit plaintiffs started being processed. That's basically the only reason I'm in the US right now. Because of a lawsuit...
But then again... CR1/IR1 were never under the travel ban in the first place, right? 👀
So the only thing that I can think of is if either there are different consular officers interviewing K1's and CR1/IR1 and someone got sick or something on the CR1/IR1 side which makes it slower, or if they're trying to catch up on the K1's and goes after NOA2 or something like that and CR1/IR1 are just way ahead... But yeah... just guessing here...
I know all too well what it's like waiting, so I hope you guys hear something soon! ❤️
Yeah the lawsuit is why they’re processing K1s again, which is great! 🙌 It wasn't fair that they stopped K1s in the first place, so I’m very happy that they started processing them again!
No you’re right, spouses were never under the travel ban ☺️
The thing is that we heard from K1s who had their NOA2 in September 2020 and in March 2021 who was invited to schedule their interview, so they seem to have moved past the CR1/IR1s (correct me of I’m wrong K1s). And when you try contacting the embassy to ask about it, you can’t get any information whatsoever. So it’s the lack of information (coupled with the insane wait) that’s the most frustrating part of it all! 😭
Thank you, I hope everyone else who’s still waiting will hear something soon too! ❤️

So are they definitely not interviewing for CR1's at the moment? Is there a reason for that?
We don’t know for sure, people have been hearing different things from the embassy (and they have conflicting information on their website), if you email them they’ll tell you that they’re only processing emergency cases but then if you call them they’ll say that they are still processing CR1/IR1 visas. And they seem to be processing K1s at the moment, but haven’t heard of any CR1/IR1s who been given an interview date in a while. So no one really knows what’s going on 😕

Yeah, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.. Hopefully once they start processing again things will go quicker 🤞

So are CR1’s are not being processed for interviews? I was hoping that we’d be done by the fall since we got DQ’d in January, but everyone is making it seem like it’ll take 1+ years and I’m getting very uneasy 😞
We were DQed September 23rd and still waiting 😔

I am Swedish and still waiting. DQ 7th of October.
I dont understand, seems like they stopped processing October cases. Saw that only one person who were DQed in Oct got an interview in february. That’s so strange! It’s like nothing has moved since January.. I don’t see why they wouldn’t be scheduling cases from Sweden, so why are they holding off like that? Nothing makes sense..

Thank you so much. Wow, you’ve been waiting since September that is crazy... It says on the embassy website that the backlogs are substantial, but I did not expect it to be this bad.
Btw I see you’re going to end up in the twin cities, me too!! Cool.
My mental health is deteriorating fast because of this waiting. I just turned down a really good job offer, because I can not accept new things atm, since I don’t know how long I’m staying in Norway before I get my visa approved.
It’s a sad situation for all. Is there a Facebook group for Scandinavians waiting for CR1/IR1 interview? Would love to be a part of some supporting community right now.
Yeah it’s been a crazy long time! But it hopefully won’t be as bad for everybody, people who were DQed just two days before us got their interview dates just before the entry ban was announced, so I think we just got caught on the wrong side of things.
I also think they’re moving ahead with Swedish cases from what I’ve seen on this page, so once the entry ban is lifted they’ll probably be focusing on bringing Danish and Norwegian cases up to the same point, so hopefully everything go quicker then and you won’t have to wait as long 🤞
Oh haha small world! I’m in the cities right now actually 😊
The wait is horrible, I know! You just feel like you’re stuck in limbo and you can’t move on with things in your life.. Just keep reminding yourself of how wonderful it’s going to be once this is over! I have a picture of a mountain by my bed at home with the quote: “The best view comes after the hardest climb”. Hang in there, it’s all going to be worth it 💚
I don’t know of any Facebook groups for Scandinavians, but would be nice if there was one!

Thank you for some info. Yeah I’m considering going through Finland or something. But the ban is probably going to end before they schedule me for an interview.
I’ve been waiting to be scheduled for an interview for IR1/CR1 since September, and still haven’t heard anything. Every time I wrote to the embassy to ask them if they were still scheduling cases from Denmark (and then Norway) because of the entry ban, they wouldn’t give me a straight answer. I spoke to someone from Denmark who originally was scheduled for January, and they kept having to reschedule their interview every time the entry ban was extended. So from what I gather (and what my attorney thinks too) the embassy isn’t scheduling new cases from Denmark and Norway as long as there’s an entry ban in place. I tried to tell them that I was willing to go to another country and quarantine to then go to Sweden, but that didn’t seem to help any. They never actually replied to that email, so I stopped pushing because there wasn’t anything more I could do.
So that’s my story just as an FYI. If anyone has had a different experience then please share, but for now I’m not expecting anything until the entry ban ends.

How long does it usually take from uploading documents to DQ? Just came back from a trip to the states, it’s heartbreaking leaving my love...
Back in September it took two weeks for us from we uploaded the last documents until they DQed us, don’t know how long it’s taking them at the moment, but hopefully it’s not much longer than that 🤞
Oh I know, I cried for days when I had to leave my husband last time almost five months ago 😢 Hang in there! ❤️

Thank you! I’m from Sweden, I really hope the travel ban won’t affect your case, but I haven’t at least heard or read anything to that extent from the embassy or in their newsletters. When reading the forums about when other people get the interview notice, sometimes the embassy seems to schedule some before others even though someone were DQd a few days ahead of someone else. So you never know 🙏🙏 good luck to you guys.
Thank you! I hope you’re right and hopefully we’ll hear something this week coming 🤞Last time I emailed them I asked if they were putting Danish cases “behind” others because of the entry ban and they told me no. But it’s still nagging in the back of my head and then I see that you got your interview when you DQed a week after us, and that just makes me even more worried 😅
But hopefully you’re right and we’ll hear something soon! This is why it’s so nice when people write when they DQed and get their interview because it helps us all 🤗
And if more October DQs start getting interviews I know that I have to take some action to make sure that our case has not been dropped on the floor 😂
Thank you again and very best of luck with the interview! 😊

Hi! We just got our interview notice yesterday for the 9th of February.
For anyone interested here is our process so far:
Got DQd the 1st of October.
It’s a marriage based green card I am applying for.Does anyone know of any Vandrarhem or Hotel in walking distance to the embassy that you would recommend?
Congratulations! Good luck with it all 🤗If you don’t mind me asking, where are you from? I’m only asking because we DQed on 24th September and we still haven’t gotten our interview date, and because I’m Danish I’m worried that they’re not arranging interviews for Danes because of the entry ban 😕

We regret the inconvenience caused by this temporary closure and will process cases as quickly as possible when we reopen to minimize wait times. We’re also still waiting, and we were DQed September 23rd.. But I do know that someone who DQed October 3rd had their interview in April, and we still don't know why they bypassed us 😢
