  1. My fiance went in for her interview in Guangzhou last week and it was very brief. He asked her my full name then asked her to spell it. She could not spell my last name. She froze. It is a difficult name to pronounce or spell even for Americans. He asked her for photos and we only had about 6. He said it was not enough. How much is enough ? We are not picture people. We took a bunch of pics but we deleted the ones we didn't like which left us with few. I had her prepared for the toughest questions but not the easiest one. 3 strikes and your out. Right now we are both devastated. We have known each other for 1 1/2 years. I have now been to China twice to see her. I had over 200 email letters and phone records and they didn't even want to see them.

As she left the interview room, the vultures (lawyer consultants for P. Pagent) grabbed her by the arm and called me in to discuss what they could do for us. They flashed white slip and blue slip cases before my eyes and showed how they turned them into pink. They wanted $600 to keep the case in Guangzhou and $5000 to get her another chance for an interview. They aim to discredit the VO. After awhile when I said I couldn't afford that kind of money, I was told to marry her in China and apply for a CR1. Only thing is it will be 6 months before I go back to China and another 18 months to approve the CR1. We are talking 2 years. We want to be together now. Is there an easy solution ? Can she get some other kind of visa to come here so we can marry ? She is 35 and we want to have a child and be together, by the time she gets here she will be almost 38 and we will have waited 3 1/2 years. Help !

I have read some of the overcome cases on CFL but have tried to register without any success. Your responses will be appreciated.

hope you are not discouraged by this, keep working on and you will see the light ahead of you. according to my experience of interview, photos are not important, I have prepared 10 photos, and only five of us together, the rest are with my friends or individuals, if your finacee can speak english, this will bring her much advantage.

  3. For what it's worth, here's a little info.

    Approved Aug 20

    touched Aug 23

    touched Aug 24

    touched Aug 28

    touched Aug 29

WOW !!!..............SOOOOOO many touches..........haven't seen or heard of so many for anyone else !!

Obviously, I'm hoping to be one of the lucky ones that got mailed out within 8 or 9 days of approval.

All this activity MIGHT mean CSC is getting their act together. Let's hope so..... B)

I had the same thing happen on approval, touched August 6,7,8,9,10. I was hoping it meant it was boxed and sent to NVC...wishful thinking at the time.

Today my optimism turned to more disappointment. Unfortunately, u were correct in your assessment.

Just returned from a 5 day business trip, and was hoping for good news from the NVC. 22 days from approval date, and my file REMAINS in the "Staging Area" !!!

The officer was kind and apologetic, but said he has NO power to help. What a DRAGGGG

  5. Hi everyone,

Received my NOA2 "Hard Copy" via snail mail today. It specifically states that "we have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center (NVC).

My question is.........is this a typical NOA2 letter?..........do they all state the above text??. My guess is that this is a standard form letter, and does not necessarily mean the file has been "Sent" or mailed to NVC.

Got the approval via RFE trick phone call (no status or profile updates on their website).

The customer rep. said it was approved on the 20th of Aug. And now i have the hard copy to confirm this info.

Obviously, I'm curious if i can relax now and assume (based on the above letter) that my file is now in transit to NVC.?

    WATAYATINK? wacko.gif

  7. Long before I started this process I hired an immigration attorney. At the time (about a month prior to finding VJ) I thought it was the right thing to do. After I found VJ, I more or less took control of the petition which was being compiled, and have done everything by myself with the attorney just being given updates and used in case of problems. Well today I contacted her and this may explain some of the mailroom delays:

"While it is always hard to say, the "backlog" could be a result of the flood of fiilngs that came into the

system just before the fee increase on July 30."

I guess when I look at it in that perspective, it would make some sense. She is in contact with other attorneys, and they have their own user groups to excahnge information and ideas. I would think that this assumption may very well be correct.

So, we weathered the H1B mess in April that flooded the mailrooms and delayed the NOA-1's from being issued as well as the computer system mess. By the sounds of it we are most likely weathering another delay because we are in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know this adds little comfort, and I am as furious as anyone else in the same situation, but I guess it is what it is.

Everyone hang in there, they can't take away an approved petition, we'll be on our way to NVC soon enough.

Thanks for the input. This process has thrust us into a host of unfortunate circumstances. I try to find some solace in the fact that those behind us will likely suffer even MORE! Although our timing was bad,..........perhaps not as bad as the ones behind us. To this extent we might consider ourselves a tiny bit lucky.....hahahahaha.

My approval came only 3 days ago (Aug20) and it appears a few days earlier would have done me little good. I can imagine the frustration for all of you with approvals from two or more weeks ago, and NO NVC !!!!!

Best of luck to all,.......I know it's tough, but we MUST: "Keep The Faith"

  8. got a touch yesterday (Monday) and another touch today. Just got off the phone with CSC (via RFE trick)......guess what???

APPROVED !!!! as of yesterday Aug. 20th. I'm so exhausted from the mind numbing, non-transparent, insane delays, it will take 24 hours for me to smile about this. However, with the bowling ball removed from my ankle, perhaps i will be slightly more agile than before. Nice to join the big boys in the NOA2ers club. Best of luck to all of you..........

    Brian & Jing..

    mailed I129-F.......April 13

    receipt notice........Apr 24

    touch....................Aug. 16

    touch....................Aug. 20

    touch....................Aug. 21 (today)

called (via RFE) Aug 21 (today)

she said we were approved as of yesterday Aug. 20

I was told to expect email notification within 2 days,

and snail mail notification within a week.

She was VERY kind and seemed to enjoy giving us the good news.

  9. I followed MaRob's lead by calling yesterday (RFE) and was told i had been moved to the "FILE IN TRANSIT" status. Three hours later, I noticed a touch. I assume this came from the phone call. However, I got ANOTHER TOUCH this morning !!!! After sooooooo long (NOA1-Apr 24th) I finally see some activity on my case. Obviously, I'm encouraged, and hope to join all of you NOA2ers SOON !! "Here's Lookin At You Kids" :D

  10. I bet they are very legitimate! I got touches and it was our NOA 2, NVC, ect.. My fiancee has her interview next week, but the USCIS website still says pending! Good luck

WOW!!! I hope so... my status still says pending online also... I am going to call tomorrow!! Thanks.. I sure hope so!! *keeping my fingers crossed*

    Hey MaRob

Our dates are identical. I'm in California, so i filed at the CSC. No activity on my case......No emails, no hard copy NOA1, no status change, no touches. Glad to see u have some activity (touches), this is encouraging for BOTH of us

The "Time Line" page, here on VJ, has moved my expected date back 4 times in the past week. Now says to expect action by the 25th :o

5 steps forward, then 4 steps back....hahahahahaha. Based on your touches, I assume u are in front of me. I'll be watching and hoping for your success.

    Best of luck.........Brian and Jing

Good Luck Brian and Jing... I had no emails, no touches, no NOA1 hard copy either... I actually called on the 7th using the RFE trick, and all I asked was if there was any progress on my case, when the man said no, I asked if it was even assigned yet.. after looking for a minute, he said, 'no it has not been assigned yet'... GAH!! so i looked the next two days to see the typical touches.. got those.. and then to my surprise I got touched on the 10th and the 12th also... hmmm... a sunday... so i am going to call tomorrow again and see whats up.. maybe my phone call encouraged some action!! maybe you guys should think about calling just to check... Good luck again!

    MaRob,

Way-t-go !!!.........We're all happy for you

A brief update on my April 24th NOA-1.............Talked to CSC (via RFE trick) this morning 8-15-07,.........She said my case was in a status called: "FILE IN TRANSIT".

She said this means my case is in transit from the pile on the shelf to an "Officer". They suggested I keep an eye on the case, as the Officer will probably make a decision soon. She said the transition from "FILE IN TRANSIT" to DECISION is typically 2 or 3 days.

I hope this heads-up will give the remaining April filers some hope.

    4-13-07 mailed I129-F to CSC

4-24-07 receipt notice (on back of check) no hard-copy NOA1

    waiting, waiting

8-15-07 told the case status was: "FILE IN TRANSFER" (on it's way to an Officer)

They said we should have a decision within 3 days

I can live with this information, but I'm NOT holding my breath ...........

  11. We are still waiting too... i called on the 7th.. got touched on the 8th and 9th, and then again on the 10th and 12th... could these be legitimate touches??? I am so ready to be done with CSC... Give me my NOA2 Jerks!! :innocent:
