  1. Hi Honey n Walid - The total is actually $680 ($595 N-400 filing fee + $85 biometrics fee). The directions on the USCIS website say to send one check payable to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security", and to write your A-number on the back. I've never written anything on the back of a check before, so I wrote my A-number on the memo line on the front of the check along with "N-400 application fee".

    Hope this helps!

Thank you! It was sent off yesterday with your advise.

  2. My husband received his 10 year green card in the mail on February 18. Today we received the following letter from USCIS:

    Dear Sir/Madam:

This letter is in reference to your Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (Form I-751). A review of your record shows that you were incorrectly admitted or adjusted as a conditional permanent resident. You should have been admitted or adjusted as permanent resident without conditions because the marriage through which you gained conditional residence status was entered into more than twenty-four months prior to your admission or adjustment.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is terminating action on the Form I-751, and refunding your filing fee. This termination does not affect your permanent resident status.

You should be receiving a new alien registration card (Form I-551) showing the correct immigrant classification. You are not required to take any further action. If you do not receive a correct card within 60 days, please contact your local district office for further guidance.

What does this mean??? Did we file the wrong form?

  3. I think everyone can look at it differently

USCIS in their ASC letter indicates that we have to have the BIO done in order for them to process the application, hence I think (may be im wrong) the earlier the BIO the better chance for a front seat in the(waiting approval line)if everything is fine,

however, some are busy to get it done and reschedule sooner or later

so lets watch the timelines and see what we can observe from there

    Thanks

  5. been in Texas, oh my it's like a huge desert no mountains barely have trees, the good side though is that it has a low cost of living and the low housing price and no state income tax attract people.

The ordinary designations used by Texas people generally for the various sections of the state, such as East Texas, South Texas Plains, the Grand Prairies and Lampasas Cut Plain, the Lower Plains, the Edwards Plateau, the High Plains, the Coastal Plain, the Texas Prairies, and the Trans-Pecos,qqv serve to point out the major natural regions of Texas. In their comparative aspects, each of these natural regions of the state partakes in a general way of characteristics of larger provinces of the United States. Thus, HUMID AND FORESTED EAST TEXAS is the westward prolongation from Louisiana of the GULF TIMBER BELT, the latter being the counterpart of the Atlantic timber belt that stretches along the Atlantic coast south of the Potomac. The moderately humid Black Prairies region, the largest unit of the Southern Prairies, has many characteristics similar to those of the Mid-West or Corn Belt Prairies. The Edwards Plateau, the Lower Plains, the South Texas Plains, and the High Plains constitute a southern sector of the Great Plains, or the sub-humid portion of the United States. Trans-Pecos Texas is a part of the Cordilleran province and is a physiographic unit of the hot and dry southwest border zone, which crosses the continent, extending to the Pacific Ocean south of the transverse continental lineament. Although each of these Texas regions is in a general way the counterpart of larger provinces of the United States that extend into Texas and have their largest extents outside the state, yet the Texas regions have individual characteristics sufficiently distinct to rank them as separate natural regions. They are also are economic units, each as large as an ordinary state. Natural and political boundaries seldom coincide; therefore, the Texas regions extending to the boundaries of Texas also extend for some distance into the adjacent states without any pronounced break in physical features and characteristics
