  1. Had my interview today, it was pretty quick and easy. An hour later, my case status changed to “New card being produced”

    Questions during the interview:

    1. How did you meet

    2. When did you meet

    3. What is your husband’s name

    4. When is your husband’s birthday

    5. When did you get married

Just basic questions, although I was ready and brought a lot more evidences, the officer did not ask any of them.

What was weird is that interview was scheduled days after ead expedite request

My interview is tomorrow (NOA1 06/29), it was scheduled two weeks after I requested to expedite my EAD (09/22).  The timeline of the field office handling my case is between 10-19 months, just glad that it is moving pretty quick.

My case status just changed to "interview is scheduled" but I am currently traveling within the States. I could not find the information on the interview date in the online account. Is there a typical timeline for when it might be? Or is that information only in the notice? Is the interview typically the same place the finger printing?

    Thanks!

You can only see the details on the notice. In my case, I received it in the mail and only after three weeks did the online status changed.

I had my biometrics in Pittsburgh office whilst my interview will be in Cleveland.

My husband just had his biometrics appointment this morning. How long does it take for the status to change if it does? Do we expect a status change or not all the time?

In my case, I-485 changed to "Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview" the day after the biometrics and no status update for the rest.

Even after I received an interview letter, no charges on the status of any of my applications.

Correct, they would not be eligible for federal student aid. But they should still submit the form after receiving SSN: https://studentaid.gov/2021/help/citizen

If you’re neither a citizen nor an eligible noncitizen, you aren’t eligible for federal student aid. If you have a Social Security number but aren’t a citizen or an eligible noncitizen, including if you’ve been granted DACA, you should still complete the FAFSA form because you may be eligible for state or college aid. You should check with your school’s financial aid office to see what kind of financial aid you may be eligible to receive.

Right. It's mandatory to complete FAFSA, should I not be eligible for the federal student aid, then my husband's union will cover my tuition fee, as I previously stated as to the requirements I needed to provide my school.

  6. In my case, I enrolled in community college whilst my I-485 is on process. The school required the following: Transcript of records detailed evaluation of coursework, FAFSA and my husband's union membership. The drawback is, I can't start taking classes till I accomplish FAFSA, and that requires SSN, which I already applied since last week of April and still pending for verification from Homeland.

folks, same problem here but in my case my appointment it already scheduled but the embassy ask to do iv address registration but k1 visa is not showing on the list of the iv address please i need your help with this matter thanks.

Please read again the email from the immigrant visa unit at the U.S. Embassy in Doha as there's a note just below the requirements you need to bring on your interview date that says:

Make sure you register before the interview date and bring the registration paper with you to your interview (In case you could not find a specific visa type, you can select any other visa type while registering with Aramex).
