I think even God does not understand airline ticket pricing.
It think it is a secret supercomputer somewhere that does nothing else just prices the tickets...

Hi There
When my fiancee arrived we first got the marriage licenses - my state does not require blood test nor ssn for that so it went smoothly.
At city hall they also gave me us a list of people who can marry us, here they are called Justice of Peace.
I called one nice lady and she married us in my sisters garden
The ceremony was for the family and friends, we plan a bigger one once we go back to Poland since our both families leave there.
-
I'm keeping my fingers crossed
have a nice trip
My wife got her interview in Warsaw in July last year...
If you have all the papers in order it should go smoothly.
-
it should have a stamp or something saying do not open...
But you can open the one that Embassy mailed to you along with your passport
.
-
fwaguy is right
the passport needs to be valid for at least 6 months after visas expiration date.
Since K-1 visa is valid for 6 months a year of the passport life should be enough.
If you have to years however i would consider renewing it. You will need a new one when you are in US and sometimes it cost more to get passport from consulate...

They only have email address to their webmaster, i might try that.
I must admit it shocked me too.
We did not submit the Medical papers with AOS application so they have send us RFE. It did not arrive for about a month so i called them.
The nice lady told me that they send it to an old address despite i have given them the new one. She promised to send the copy the same day.
Belive it or not, the copy arrived exactly 7 day later.
We did send medical papers on 03/22, we got notice that they have received it on 4/5/08 and send the approval on 4/15/08.
I was shocked myself.

Thanks!
We are still waiting for the green card - it is in production
And our journey could have been shorter if the did the medical exams with AOS application.
We thought that since my finance - now my wife did it for the embassy interview that would be enough.
We were wrong lol
And the party is coming
-
yeap
it should be sealed.
it probably contains information to the immigration officer whether to let you inn or execute you on site
Just kidding...
Do not open anything that is sealed inside...

Hi Guys
I do not know if you still remeber me, it has been a while.
Sorry i did not have the chance to type but we were buying a house and then moving and... well you get the idea
My wifes AOS petition just got proved on April 15th! I guess the next step will be citizenship
It started almost exactly a year ago so i guess it wasn't that bad... But i tell you, I'm happy that it is over.

It is sad that those "guaranteed" preparers are not controlled by someone.
I would give them a call and DEMANDED a refund. I would also contact the Consumer Protection Department in your state.
As for the case itself, call USCIS and ask them what to do, i was calling them a few times durning the process and was able to speak to someone after holding no longer than 10 minutes.
Also, all the forms have pretty good instructions, read them carefully.
As for breaking something, don't brake anything that you will miss later
I will keep my fingers crossed for you guys.
-
That's how it was in our case.
I send Affidavit of support along with supporting documents to my finance and they ask her for them at her interview in Warsaw, Poland.
Remember, it is better to have too many documents than not enough.
I send her the forms, letter from employer, and tax return copy for last year and some other things i don't remeber
They are listed in the forms instructions.

Hi Guys
i have unusual question...
Does someone know if USCIS has a phone number or email address, or website maybe to post feedback?
I would like to commend them (yes commend
) for the way they handled my wife's AOS case.
She just got aproved - 10 days after we sent missing papers (medical)
-
Congratulation!!!!!
We just got a letter from USCIS few days ago that my wife's AOS aplication got aproved.
The green Card is in the making.
Make sure you do the medical exams when you aplyinjg for AOS even if your fiancee did it for the embassy.
We did not do it right away and it delayed us for about 6 weeks.

It is kind of strange that from all the countries in the world US is the hardest to get in legally.
It's a pity that you couldn't get married while he was here, it would save you about 6 months and $550
I keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hello everyone in the Visa Journey community!
I want to first say thanks to everyone involved. The guides and topics have been instrumental in building my confidence to undertake this process.
I met my fiancé in December 05 traveling through Cambodia as a tourist. I returned to Cambodia after completing my degree in August 06. I struck up a romantic relationship with her in September 06. This relationship grew and matured as we owned and operated a coffee shop and we took the next big step in July 07 when we were in engaged.
We no longer operate the coffee shop, and have decided to move to America, visa permitting. I would like to share some of my concerns for our situation in regards to obtaining a K-1 visa.
1) I have lived in Cambodia since August 06. This means I have plenty of supporting evidence for our ongoing relationship, but it also means I have not worked or maintained a residence in the US in that time period. Will living together even be seen as a positive? Will it be countered by my lack of maintained residence in the US?
2) We are both fairly young: 23 and 19 for myself and my fiancé respectively. Is age used as a determining factor in the process?
3) Since I came here directly after finishing my studies, I have little in the way of assets. My parents are both working professionals, and have volunteered to sponsor my fiancé for the visa process. Is my earning potential (Bachelors in Multinational Business) and sponsorship by my family sufficient or will we be denied due to no assets?
Those are my major concerns. I have decided to forego returning to the US until my fiancé gets her visa. We can support ourselves here for as long as the process takes. I don't want to spend a day without her, and hope we can stay together in the States soon.
Please feel free to ask for more info. I would just like to get acquainted with the community and hear your take on our situation. Thank you for your time!

Hi There
first of all congratulations!!!
1. The fact that you have lived together for a while is definitely a positive thing. It is however rquired to have and U.S. income to sponsor someone's visa (regardless of type). You might want to ask you parents to be your co-sponsor to provide prove of adequate income.
2. I am assuming you are a US citizen. You age most definetly won't be a problem. I am not sure about your fiancee age though, but i think she can legally marry in US and that's the main purpose. You might want to call UCIS on that though.
3. See point 1

Its funny how so many people think this at first. I remember thinking the same thing in the beginning.
I think the wording in the USCIS application about this is a bit confusing, especially if your first language isn't English.
If you think USCIS is confusing, try IRS
I want to find a voracious, small-minded predator and name it after the IRS.

Hi Everyone
My fiancee is ariving today at 4:50PM EST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to thank everyone on tis forum for help and support. You guys are incredible!!!!!!!
-
I would also get that lawyer to pay the difference for a new fee. He or she evidently did not know what he/she was doing.
I'm afraid you will have to refile, but i don't think you need a lawyer. Just read the post and read the instructions on the form CAREFULLY!!!!
I got my fiancee to get her visa within 5 months (she is flying to Newark today
) all i did is purchase Fiancee visa kit on the net ($50.00) which had sample of filled forms and some additional descriptions.
Just make sure the forms included in those kits are up to date, if not, download an updated one form USCIS.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you guys.
-
And if i remember correctly, you have to fill them out, not just copy the first page.
Don't worry when you purchasing a firearm they need 5 copies
.
Long live bureaucracy!!!!
-
I completely agree with my predecessors. I strongly recommend that you meet in real life. Virtual relationship does not quite cut it.
Take a trip, spend some time together and get to know each other better. Then make your decision.
Haste is recommended only when catching flies
.
Best of luck to both of you.

Hi There
I would put that she is single and has a child.
It is not illegal in US to have a child without beeing married ans she was not legally married.
If they ask her on the interview i would say that she had a child with this man and he left her, wnent to Malasia and passed there.

Yeah, it's probably the surge before July 30th.
I can imagine how swamped they are.
Another K-2 visa question
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
hmm
it is a very specific situation
my advice would be to call the embassy and find out.
If you can not contact them it would be better for your fiancee's son to go too.
Even if they issue him a visa, he does not have to use it
