  1. Yep, it is considered to be a MUST in China, so my husband and I went to the studio and had our pre-wedding pictures done, even though we never like posing in front of the camera.

    Share! Share!

We took our pictures in a suburb of Shanghai called Songjiang. It was a brutal shoot, mainly because of the humidity. The cost was about $1200 for about 10 hours of photography. Our pacakge included a big 52 inch framed photograph, 3 full color books, a CD of the outtakes, a bunch of smaller 4x6 and 5x7 prints, 7 outfit changes and makeup.

Here are some of the pics I've uploaded...with audio as well...

  2. Hi,

Question number 7 on the I-134 states,

"I have stocks and bonds with the following market value, as indicated on the attached list

which I certify to be true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief"

Would this be where I put just my regular stocks, or would I be able to lump in my IRA and 401K as well?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. The G-325a seems the most likely cause of the reasons you listed, but I'm amazed that it didn't just generate an RFE. As others have suggested, are you sure it wasn't something like forgetting to sign your check, or maybe even the check bounced? It just seems like an outright rejection would be something much more fundamental.

On my NOA1, it also says.

    NOTICE TYPE: RECEIPT NOTICE

    AMOUNT RECEIVED: $455

Hopefully, the package they sent to me will arrive today and I can just find out what's the cause. Not knowing is the worst.

  4. I am sorry to hear that..

I understand how you feel right now..

We filed I129F at the end of June,it been rejected

in August and at the end of september our petition

    arrived from uscis..

P.S.Will uscis give us a new case number or it will be the same, but case

    staus will be changed???

Please fill in your timeline...and if you don't mind, can you tell us what the reason for rejection was originally. It might help future filers. thanks.

CSC said they shipped my entire petition back to me on October 2, but I've yet to receive it. (I live in San Francisco, so hopefully it will arrive today, although CSC says it may take up to 30 days)

Inside the package, they'll list the reasons behind the rejection. If it's something small, like a missing check box, I wish they would given me a courtesy call instead of wasting 2 months worth of wait.

I'll be sure to update my timeline once I get the package.

Sorry for the ranting, but I do appreciate your input and thoughts.

Once our case is rejected, we lose our original receipt date.

They will issue us a new receipt number and a new receipt date.

  6. Damn, sorry to hear that. :(

Hopefully you made exact copies of your original packet. While you're waiting, go back through it and try to sleuth out why they might have rejected it. If you do figure it out, make whatever corrections you need to make and get your new packet ready. As soon as you get the notice from USCIS, verify that you've made all the corrections you need to make and get the new packet out the door.

Honestly I don't understand why they can't make this information available electronically. Would save everyone a lot of time and anguish.

Yes, I went through the copies, and there might be 2 issues that could be cause for the return...

    1. my lawyer said only 1 page of the G325A was needed, not 4.

    2. there's a section where they ask if you've been in the military, I put N/A.

But at this point, it's all speculation. I wont' know exactly the rationale behind the rejection until my packet arrives.

It's just difficult to swallow to lose those 6 weeks of precious time.

  7. Hi,

I am an August filier under the CSC.

I received my NOA1 on October 1, but right off the bat, I got bad news.

After I checked my status online, to my dismay, it said...

    "Current Status: Case Rejected

On October 2, 2007, we determined that this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was not properly filed, rejected it, and mailed it back to you with all supporting materials along with a notice describing the reasons the case was rejected. The notice will also describe what will need to be done to properly submit the case."

I followed the guidelines here on VJ, and even had my lawyer look through my petition once I finished putting it together.

I spoke with USCIS this morning, and they said, it can take up to 30 days for me to receive my package. Once I resubmit it , I'll be given a new receipt date, rendering my initial August 22 date useless.

I've lost 6 weeks right off the bat. Had this been an RFE, I would have retained my original receipt date, but that's not the case.

Sorry for the rants, but I'm just feeling really down right now.

  8. im also very worried.i sent my in on august 15 and was received on august 20.still no word of what going on.everyday i check if they've cash my check in,but to my dismay nothing.

whats really going on?it would be nice if they just inform us if they lost it or what, since we all got a receipt or a letter back that they received it.

I'm in the same boat as well. I sent my the I-129F package on August 20 by certified mail. It was delivered on August 22. Still no NOA1 or have they cashed my check.

  9. Hi,

Near the bottom of the G-325A form, there's a box that says "This form is submitted in connection with an application for".

Looking at the sample documents on this site (for the beneficiary), my fiancee checked "Other" and specified "I-129F".

I had my lawyer look through the paperwork, and she changed this to "status as permanent resident".

But on my (petitioner) G-325A, the "other" box was checked with I-129.

I've already sent in my petition but i'm just wondering will this raise any red flags?

  10. Hi,

I'm petitioning to bring my fiancee in Shanghai. I should be sending in the petition in the next 2 weeks.

I just put in a call to the National Visa Center asking where to attain a certified copy of my original naturalization document. For the initial filing, I will just send a photocopy, but I'm just thinking when my fiancee goes to her interview in GZ, the visa officer may ask for the original. After informing her about this, she said, the GZ embassy will NOT ask for the original. (she was very adamant about this). She said once they approve my packet here and ships it to the US consulate in GZ, my US citizenship has already been proved, and they wont ask my fiancee for the original. What are your thoughts?

The 2nd thing she mentioned was a reminder to include a check for $80 for the biometrics fee, along with the $455 payment for the I-129F filing. I've read this forum at length and I wasn't aware that the $80 would be paid this early? The money isn't the problem, but I thought this fee would take place later on, (after we get married, and applying for AOS).

    Your feedback is appreciated.

  11. Hi all,

Just wondering if there is anyone from Shanghai?

My fiancee lives there and I think it would be great if she could communicate with a local over there going through the same process.

  12. Hi,

I'm waiting on a few items (birth certificate, passport type photo, notarized single certifcate affadavit, completed G-325A form)

from my fiancee in Shanghai to arrive before I will petition for the K1 visa later this month.

Looking at the example forms available on this site (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=examples)

more specifically the Fiance Letter of Intent, I was wondering if both signatures had to be on this document. Or do we write a separate each?

I was a little thrown off because in the example, it has "(petitioner’s / beneficiary’s address)".

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Wish me luck, just beginning the long journey.
