  1. Hi!

We are applying with K1 and K2, my husband and his son.

I basically did the same process as yourself.

    I-485 2 copies

I-864 one original and including 1 copy for K-2 child

    G-325A one for each

I-765 - I did originally create one for our son - but agree that he will not need that yet (13), however the Social Security office told me that our son couldn't get a SSN until we had the EAD - ??? Did you have any issues with getting SSNs?

    I-131 one for each

Cover Letter - We just listed the second copy of everything that has an application for K2.

Our son did recieve an I94 card on arrival, there is nothing at all written about an A# for him - just his Dad's has the A#. He does have an EAD temporary stamp with no validation writing on it.

I haven't seen much discussion about K2 either - so it's nice to see your post and feedback.

    Thanks!

  2. Our wedding was March 22nd!!! It was amazing!!! I love having Luis and his son here, we are SOooo happy!

I've read the FAQs and Guides, and can't find this question, so I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere......

We are completeing our AOS packet to send...my question is regarding my name. I am changing my name to his and have processed this with the SSN office, my employer, etc, but I am wondering for immigration whether I keep my maiden name or use my new married name. ? Will this have an effect as immigration is investigating/interviewing us? As I have sponsored them as K1/K2 Visas under my maiden name, do I need to continue with the process using my maiden name?

    Thank you for your advice!

  3. Hi all!

Our application left NVC on Monday, so hopefully this LONG process will pick for us!!!

I've been reading through the prep information on the Embassy's site, but have found a couple of questions.......

    1. How do I change my fiance's address in Bogota?

    2. Do my fiance and is his son's birth certificates need to be translated into English? There is one example package that states documents in any language other that Spanish and English need to be translated and there is one that says all documents need to be translated.

    3. What documents need to be notorized? The I134 Affidavit of Suuport. Does the Letter of intent to marry need to be notorized? Anything else?

    Thank you so much!

We've gotten this far from what we have learned here on VisaJourney, thanks to all those before us who have posted advice! This is GREAT!!
