Hmmm, I wasn't able to edit my post to add in our experience. Oh well, here it is:)...

It was great! It was about a 4 hour drive and a lot of waiting when we got there, but the ceremony went well. It was part of that town's annual 4th of July Celebration and it was all very patriotic! We sang patriotic songs, cannons were shot off, and they had red, white and blue water sprayed from a tugboat in the water right behind us. Afterward they had a reception for all of the new US Citizens (155 in all!) and had a buffet table full of food. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. It really was a great experience and one we won't forget! So glad we're done though!!

Congratulations daisylynn! my field office is Norfolk as well, i am a June flier though, so i have a couple of months to go. Do you know your your DH will have is ceremony? Is it here in Norfolk or in Richmond? Thanks

Thanks! Actually my office is in Raleigh/Durham. I thought it was Norfolk because that is where he had his fingerprints done and hadn't checked into it at that point. But our interview/appt. was in Durham. I just keep forgetting to change my profile to reflect that :duh:

His ceremony is July 3rd.

I just checked dh's oath ceremony info out. It is being held in Southport NC on July 3rd. When I looked up the info, it's during their 4th of July celebration and is actually an annual event held during their 4th of July weekend festivities. What an awesome way to celebrate his citizenship!

We also got a yellow letter reminding us to bring proof.

DH has his interview today and he passed! The interview was for 8:45. We got there around 8:30 and went it (with all 3 kids). They sent us to the waiting room where we waiting maybe 10-15 minutes before they called his number. He went back and was gone maybe 20 minutes. He came back out and said that he had passed and that he was suppose to wait until another guy brought him his oath ceremony letter. We waiting another 15-20 minutes and then they called him back up, where the guy handed him his letter for the Oath ceremony and instructions. We were out of there before 10am.

His oath ceremony is on July 3rd. We were hoping to get it a little sooner than that but we are just happy that we finally have a date! Today's appt. was a 2.5 hr. drive. The drive to the oath ceremony is 4.5 hrs Ah well, at least we're almost there!

I must have been reading it wrong! I looked into getting the transcripts but thought it was a huge cost for it so I didn't do it. His interview is in 2 days so now there isn't even enough time to mail it. I called Office Max about having it faxed in but it will cost $22! He has been out of work for 9 months, support 5 people, so we really need to try to do it cheaper. But don't know if we'll have a choice.

Will they not take the one I have, with preview written on it?

I saw that, but we don't have access to a fax machine. And I looked into transcripts but what I saw said it cost something like $57/pc. Maybe I'm reading that all wrong?

I know that I need to bring a transcript of copies of my last 3 years tax returns to the interview (he has it this Wednesday!) I have 2 hard copies already because we had them professionally done. The 3rd (last year's) we did ourselves with turbo tax and I thought I could pull it up. But now I can't seem to find it. The only thing I can find is a copy but across all the pages, it says 'PREVIEW ONLY' across the top, middle and bottom of the pages. You can still read everything that is on the page, but I'm worried they won't take this. Will it be ok? I don't know what else to do if it isn't :unsure:

Daisy16 and Jemmi...Did your interview letter say that your oath ceremony would be the same day? Or do they just spring that on you the day of? Just curious because my husband's interview is June 15 and was wondering if his oath would be the same day or not. Is there anyway to find out?

Also, not that it matters now, but for those of you who did early walk-ins for fingerprints...could anyone do that at any place? My husband went in on his appointment date but I'm wondering if he could have walked in earlier?

It's too late now since my husband has already had his fingerprints done, but I'm just curious. I see people saying they did early walk in for fingerprints. Is that at any location and for anyone? What did you do, just walk way ahead of your appointment time and be seen? Do they take anyone like that? I wish I had known before. We would have done that.

My husband has his interview coming up. I know that I am not required to go with him, but would like to. My question is, can we take all 3 of our kids (ages 4, 5, 6) in with us? I know that we won't be going back to the interview with him and would have to wait. Have other people taken their spouse and kids with them? Or is it best if we just not go? We will still make the trip with him (it's about 3 hours from us) but if it's better that we not go in, I can always find something to do with the kids.

Had to make a change. He had fingerprints done in Norfolk, Va so I was assuming that was the field office? But his interview is in Durham, NC, so now I'm guessing that's it. I went in and changed it.
