Thank you so much for all of your support ladies. You are all so kind hearted. I will continue to need your help in the next leg of this process.

So we're married...... now what?! :)

    :innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent::innocent:

What happened after the interview? What did the CO say to you? Did the CO give you anything like a 221(g)? If so, exactly what did it say?

If you provide this information we could help you out a little better. Because right now we have nothing...

  3. Last night I went to see the Dark Knight (again!) with my friends. It was nice to be out and to relax. I did have trouble sleeping last night though. The butterflies are keeping me awake! :)

Update: Tarik's flight will leave Casablanca at 8am Casa time, go to Paris and then fly to ..... Atlanta(? Not sure why it's Atlanta). Has anyone ever had their fiance/husband come through Atlanta? What is the POE like? Then he has a 5 hour layover in Atlanta . Then he flys to Columbus! (I think he's getting in at midnight).

Possible good news: I was talking to the man that is going to marry me and Tarik. I think there is a way to get the marriage license AT THE MOSQUE!!! INSHAALLAH!! Everyone at the mosque is getting excited for this marriage! That makes me feel so happy!!

I'll keep posting updates. I never thought I would be this jittery! Even though I have SO MUCH to do (ie: my job, my OTHER job and cleaning the apartment and getting Henna and having a bridal shower) My heart is racing all the time and I can't think about anything except the moment I see him coming down the stairs at CMH! OMG! OMG!

I live in Atlanta and gone through it many times. I am always upset how long it takes so really the 5 hour layover is ideal. Its takes me at least 1 hr and half just to get through the lines and another 1 hour to get your luggage. But since he does not have to claim his baggage it should be fine. I love Atlanta but OMG the airport is CRAZY!!!!

Good Luck and happy reunion!!!!

  4. We were married just over a month and I lost my best friend today. I do not even have the words right now. Please do not listen to any inaccurate reports coming from other sources ~ I am getting the information as it comes directly from his family. I will share more details as I see fit, but please allow me to speak for my husband. I do not want him disrespected any further :( I am in shock right now and I can't accept or believe the news that I received today !! He was 26 years old. God be with us and my husband (F)

I am sorry for your loss words can not express (F) (F)

  5. 6. Hi, I just got the K3 interview scheduled for my wife on July 28th. That was good news to reached this stage of the process, the downside is that our weeding ceremony will be on July 27th and there is no way we will make it to the embassy the next day?

I need to postpone the interview date and I am worried postponing it will result in too much delay or any other unforeseen troubles. Anyone had similar situation or know about how flexible there are postponing interview dates and whether they pick the new date or we get to choose?

There is no mentioning -in the Packet 3- for the affidavit of support form (I-134), pay stub or any thing from the petitioner side, I found that unusual, I will send her the AOS document anyway but was wondering should they be sent to the consulate with the other document or brought to the interview ?

Thanks in advance for any help

You would need to get in touch with Casa asap! I do not think you can do it online. But I would call and send email. You may be pushed out a couple of months depended on the Casa schedule.

    Good Luck,

  7. so... samad ent for his interview on the 19th. i didnt hear from him the 2 nights before his interview... and he didnt call me after his interview.. i was so scared somethign happened to him.

    im so excited!!!!!

Congrats to you !!!!!!!    :dance:

  8. Hi friends, after my husbands nightmare interview at Casa consulate June 4th , he rec'd his visa at consulate today just before closing !! I called DOS Mon-Wed-Fri each day at 10am to check on staus of his fingerprints and name check and the girl there says oh, it was approved today! The consulate never called him! I told him to get his feet running down to consulate ...this is at 10am my time, 3pm his time, they closed in couple hours. Good thing he was in Mohammedia at time, he took taxi and stood in line 10 minutes , went to window and said my wife called DOS and they say my visa is ready with my passport, and sure enough it was, he got it, we will be reunited in 1 week after 14 months of wait, so hang in AP waiters, the dream will come true! So look out Detroit , we have a Moroccan movin in! thanks for all info on here during depressing times, Diana and Adil

    Congrats to you!!!!!!!!

  9. My fiance was called to bring his visa this morning and told to come back at 3PM.

    THANK YOU ALL VJer's.

I could never have gotten through this without everyone here.

    Kathy

  10. So I have been reading that the approval of the visa happens before the interview and it depending on the interviewer you get could mean approval or denial or ap hell.

Exactly who does what? I have heard horror stories about a blonde...

Im a little freaked out. My fiance's interview is on the 19th and he is curently at this very minute he is at his medical exam.

Should i warn him about the blonde? What signs should he look out for? I know we have plenty of "proof" and every one tells me that we will be fine and some people tell me he will get his visa right away.... how do they know this?

    omg Im so freaking confused.

I would not recommend having him freak out over the blonde you can advise him that she more "complicated" to say in nicer terms. Just make sure he understands the question before he answers any questions. Now I would recommend him listening to the prior interviews so he can no what not to do. My love said he learned a lot from the others before him and knew what not to do. Just be prepared and tell him to be calm and all will be good Insha Allah. Just try to make him as comfortable as possible so he wont seem nervous at the actually interview.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Please anyone who has been through the interview process at the Casa consulate any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I am still waiting for the Packet 3 but when I called the Consulate in Casa they said that my fiance would have an interview date in June!! I saw the checklist of items to bring including proof of the relationship. I would like to know what types of questions are asked and how long is the interview in total? Can he request the interview be performed in Arab or French because his English is not 100%? If approved, can he get the visa that day? Thank you!!

The questions varies from person to person. But I can send you questions that have been composited that are the most frequently asked. You need to prepare him starting now. But he will receive the 221(g) regardless. They will not issue him the visa that day. Which is normal.

Now what kind of 221(g) is important. You dont want anything stating returning the petition. But for AP is normal and even if they request more information that is not bad either (but you would want to avoid any delays).

My love spoke English at his interview and from what the interviewer said she preferred the beneficiary spoke English. She said it would eliminate the question of , "How you will function in America and you can not speak English"

But if not I am not sure if the only one lady I know there that speaks Arabic would conduct the interview in Arabic. From other VJers its been a no go!!!

Hope this helps you any!! Good Luck

  12. Hello VJers,

My love had his interview on May 13th and everything went well. He said, she said everything went good and issued him the 221(g) AP which he was prepared to receive. And I know it will take either weeks or months but I have a few questions.

    1. What is the phone number to DOS or can I go online to view status?

    2. Do the agents at DOS know when the petition has been processed through the "Security Checks"? Because I read so many posting where people are calling and getting so many different answers.

    3. And should I wait a week or so before calling? We all know how Casa can be at times

Thank you all for you help!!!!!

I just left and it was crowded but its a great cause!!!!

  17. Top 10 Sitcoms of the 1980s

    10. Diff'rent Strokes (NBC)

Okay, so what if the cast ended up heading in different directions? Gary Coleman still rules and seeing him happy (not to mention his openness about his virginity) brings a smile to our face. This show tackled certain social taboos at a time when American society still had a lot of issues to deal with. What am I talking about? In many ways, it set up the stage for Bill Cosby's show.

    9. Perfect Strangers (ABC)

This was perhaps one of my father's favorites. As cheesy as many episodes were, the show perfectly symbolized America's largeness, and the loss of innocence that many foreigners encountered as they melted into America's big pot. This show also made me fall in love with Chicago's Skyline. Funny how I never did master the "Dance of Joy" to this day.

    8. Growing Pains (ABC)

Alan Thicke made me want to be a shrink. So what if I also wanted to be a rock star, an athlete, and Michael Jackson (don't ask). The shrink thing wore off, but the show made boys laugh and girls blush. As funny as the parents were, it was the children that stole the limelight in most episodes. A bit of trivia for you: which titanic superstar currently involved with Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen appeared on this show? Want the answer?

    7. Family Ties (NBC)

You have to give credit to Michael J. Fox for his enormous success at such a young age. While the Back to the Future movies were mind-blowingly successful, Family Ties showcased Fox at his best. Perhaps because of his great surrounding cast. To this day, the show about post-hippy parenthood makes me smile. Fox moved on to better things and had a very successful stint on Spin City , leaving recently to conquer life's greater challenges. He will be back, however, and better than ever I might add.

    6. Alf (NBC)

Have you ever microwaved a cat? I have. Not as myself of course, but during my stint playing the diminutive alien that dug cats. A memorable episode was during the family's Halloween party, when Alf was allowed to mingle with the guests so long as he wore a fake zipper around his neck. Pretty much like what my parents made me do when I was growing up.

    5. The Wonder Years (ABC)

Perhaps the most intriguing show of the decade. The story of a young boy growing into adolescence taught children and adults alike about life's growing pains and one of American history's greatest eras. The Wonder Years was my AskMen growing up; always there to help me choose a path. The show was hilarious at times but the lack of a live audience raised it to a drama-like series that had both humorous and riveting moments.

    4. The Cosby Show (NBC)

Thanks to his extraordinary showmanship, deep understanding of human behavior, and great sense of humor, Bill Cosby will forever have a lasting influence on American culture and international values. Few African-Americans (including politicians) can claim to have had a greater impact on improving social perception and decreasing prejudice as he portrayed a protective father, loving husband, caring doctor, as well as a hell of a comedian. The entire cast deserved credit as the show rose to the peak of "Funny-Land," even spawning an interesting spin-off called A Different World with Lisa Bonet. Bill Cosby taught me, at a very early stage in my life, the 'evaporating effect' that women have on our wallets...

    3. Night Court (NBC)

Court is in session. Judge Harry and Dan 'the Libido Man' Fielding were just too good to pass up. Members of the cast came and went, but the core group made this show so interesting that it actually made many young men and women choose to practice law. Too bad reality is far beyond fiction. If only you knew about the numerous times that I have slapped my forehead and shouted "Other Pocket" when I search for things...

    2. Three's Company (ABC)

Not the longest running sitcom by any stretch of the imagination, but by far one of the most pure-comedy shows of the decade (technically, this one could end up on a Top 1970s list). In any case, whether you prefer Chrissy or Janet, Mr. Roper, Larry, or Mr. Furley, this show managed to make everyone in the room laugh until they were in tears and on the floor. Perhaps John Ritter was so good at his role that he could never be cast as another character.

    1. Cheers (NBC)

Far and away, the greatest '80s sitcom's main asset was its cast. Sam Malone (and all of his female exploits) may have been the main star, but his surrounding cast repeatedly outdid his own incredible performances. To this day, I ask myself whether it was Diane or Rebecca that served as the better nemesis for "Mayday"... actually, I wonder what Sam himself would think?

I enjoyed Cosby Show and Different Strokes as well as Cheers and Night Court
