I see! I just checked my own SAVE file because I went to SSA in July with my green card to get the conditions removed on my SSN and I can see that visit in there. I was wondering if there is a different process for GC/EAD people, but apparently not.

I think your best bet is probably to call them or pay them a visit and see what’s up, because in my experience the check should show up in SAVE more or less immediately. Dealing with SSA truly is a nightmare, I wish you the best of luck.

ps. I know it is stressful but it isn’t something to worry about, it will get solved eventually - you are entitled to one after all - but I know how frustrating it is in the meantime

I see. Yes it is strange that I don't see that in there. I am going to call them tomorrow to sort this out. In the mean time if anyone has any other ideas please let me know.
Thank you for your kind words.

Agh, that does sound odd. You could definitely try calling them and seeing if they know what’s up.

Out of interest, when did you enter on your K1? Couldn’t see it on your TL.

I entered December of 2021, and put the paperwork in March 2022. I received my EAD last month.
I had initially checked the box to get my SSN with my EAD card. When I did not see it in SAVE, I was instructed to go into the office by another member at VJ. So I went, and they just had me fill out the form and apply, without even listening to my question :D
I was hoping to finally see it on SAVE, and am worried because I still don't.

Yes, that means there was no communication between USCIS and SSA. It happens every so often. Nothing unusual about that, just because EAD was issued doesn’t mean that SSN is 100% coming. All you need to do is take your EAD and go in person and apply for one.

I see. I hear online that it takes weeks to get an appointment. What is the fastest way to do this. Do I just walk in without notice, and figure out from there?

Are you even sure SSA has received communication from USCIS to issue you an SSN? Pretty often it happens that SSA never receives such request and the immigrant has to go the SSA office and apply for one.

you can check if the case is in the system or not on:

    https://www.uscis.gov/save/save-casecheck

Thank you for that website. That is exactly what I am anxious about.
When I selected "Alien/USCIS Number" and put in my Alien number, it says no case found. Does that mean that they have not communicated with the SSA?
I do have my EAD in hand, so I assumed they would. Am I checking correctly?

  5. Hi everyone,

I'm trying to create a my Social Security account on ssa.gov. I had already applied for the SSN when applying for my EAD. I wanted a way to track when the application will be done processing, and also if I will get a USPS tracking number like I did for my EAD

They did not bring the EAD to my house. I had to go to the local post office and retrieve it, so I am worried I will have to do that for my SSN as well.

Please let me know if you have any more information.

Everyone fills out the I-765 the same, and all EADs are processed at NBC.  High volume plus the pandemic equal = longer processing for everyone.  Some cases are taking as long as 8 months now.  Sadly, that is one of the major drawbacks of a K1 and adjusting status.

    Yeah. That's such a bummer.
I heard that I can get it expedited if I have a job offer right? I have two questions:

    1. Do I have to wait at least 90 days to file for expedite?
    2. How much longer does it generally take after your expedite request is approved?

Yes. They a belong to other people but the whole thing is anonymous. I found a post in the Nov thread that discussed how to do it. I then took one of the numbers they used and searched until I got to the last one assigned (you'll get an error message saying the number can't be found). The next day I started with the last number that worked and the found the last one assigned that day. And so on.

Note that not all are I-129Fs - there's a mix off all sorts in there. WAC = California Service Center. 21 = current year. 900 seems to be the prefix for K-1s and other family related immigration stuff.

The last one I saw yesterday was WAC2190034696 and that was afternoon Eastern Time. I have seen no more since then.

Oh that's smart! Thank you so much.

The last one I have seen today is WAC2190034122. There's a bunch of Nov 27 around there. Since last night and into this morning there were a ton of Dec 11 so if you search between WAC2190033615 and the number above you should see a bunch. They tend to cluster together.

    Hi,

Really glad I found this forum of people who also filed December. We filed Dec 22. Where are you checking which applications are being processed at the moment? Can you share the link with us please. Thank you!
