  1. hi there - curious: did you file onyour own or jointly?

hi guys, remember i got 3 emails from USCIS stating my case was apporved and got my GC few weeks ago? One of the email says i will receive an approval letter and asks me to follow the instructions on that letter. But i never get it.... is it something important or just a notice? Anybody ever got one? Please help~
  2. hi there

I am in the same postion as you! How long were you married? Did yousubmit a lot of evidence? When did you submit your 751?

    thanks so much!

Pascal, that is awesome ! did they by any chance ask you where your wife was? I unfortunately in a situation where I have filed a waiver 751 and I am divorced. So I am looking to take a comic book for the secondary :) looks like I may be there for a while.. Plz share any advise you may have for me.
Pascal, please share your return experience with us. I too will be travelling on the stamp next month and coming in thru SF. Thanks.

Everything actually went pretty smoothly at the airport. They sent me straight to Secondary Inspection, but I was lucky enough to be first in line there so it only took about 10 minutes. No idea what they did but they kept typing on their computers and then just eventually called me up and stamped the passport. They asked me how I became a Permanent Resident and what I do for a living, but nothing else. I expected a lot worse...

On another note, I received a bizarre email from USCIS yesterday concerning an official inquiry about my NOA1 (some might recall I submitted my I-751 April 2nd and never received NOA1). Here is the meat of the text:

“You are inquiring about the I-751 application that was just barely received and is pending at the California Service Center. If you would like to travel outside the country, go to the nearest District Office to have your valid passport stamped. This will show your current status in the United States.”

Just "barely" received??? Geez. And the officer doesn't address the receipt issue at all. Complete waste of time... To add insult to injury, I found out they spelled my name wrong and even after calling they can't seem to get it fixed so I'm going to make an Infopass to try to get it corrected. Sounds like I'm on a bad luck roll here, could use a break :)

  3. clever kat - did you file on your own? what service center? Did you have to have an interview?

    thansk so much!

If you want to stay in this country after your I-751 was denied, you absolutely MUST hire a good immigration attorney. I was sure that I will be fine without one (I had a lot of join stuff), but I wish I paid $$ instead of waisting three years of my life on waiting after interview (over five years since I submitted I-751).
