  1. I would suggest something else:

    A. WebStuff

___1. Get the receipt number from ELIS

___2. Enter the receipt number in CRIS , add the receipt # to your USCIS portfolio

___3. Wait a day, the updated info in CRIS will show up

    B. Telephone

___1. Call the USCIS hotline number 800-375-5283

___2. Punch no buttons after the first ring

___3. A Spanish Speaker will come on the line , let them wind down, then say 'English Please!'

___4. Pose yer question to that sub-human. If sub-human is confused, ask for Tier 2, ISO, and be prepared to wait for 4 hours (or get a call back)

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

When I go to ELIS, what receipt# are u referring to that I can add to the USCIS portfolio?

Because I tried to add the Receipt ID# IOE977xxxxxxx but I got the message

    -customer portfolio insert failed

    - attempting to add a case does not exist.

  2. My mother (LPR)is the petitioner for my sister and she does not have ANY income in U.S. but she is retired in Brazil. My husband (her son-in-law) has a good income.

My question is: can he be the joint sponsor??? What should my mother answer about her income in the affidavit of support?? thanks

Hi! I just want to know what form did your husband filled up? I-864 or I-864a? Are you guys living with your mom?

I have the same situation. My mom(LPR) petitioned my sister and no income and we live with here and shares the same address.

I'm just wondering if the ff is correct:

    Mom (petitioner)- file I-864

    Me(daughter)-file I-864a

my Husband (son-in law of petitioner)- file I-864 as joint sponsor or I-864a as household member?

Is your case already completed? How did it go? Appreciate your response. Thanks.

  3. Thanks for your response.

I'm just a little bit confuse on the definition of joint sponsor vs. household member because on the I-864 form it only says: siblings, adult children or parents. So I'm not sure if my husband(son in law of the petitioner) will fall under this and file I-864a or should he file a separate I-864 as joint sponsor.

We file taxes jointly and have the same address as my mom and me because we live together.

Mom (Petitioner)- file I-864 with zero income with letter of explanation of not paying taxes

Me(Daughter)- file I-864a as household member

Husband (son in law of petitioner)- what should he file I-864 (as joint sponsor) or I-864a as household member?

    Please clarify.

    Thanks everyone!!!

  4. Hi everyone!!!

    F2a Priority date: Feb 6,2012

My mom(LPR) sponsored my sister (<21 yrs old.). we just paid the AOS fee and we are now preparing the I-864. My mom doesn't have a job and I'm the one who sponsored them (and she is still my dependent).

    Question:

    1. Does she still needs to prepare the I-864?

    2. or should I fill up the I-864 (I'm not the authorized agent) and since she doesnt pay taxes since she doesnt have a job.

    3.Or should I just fill up I-864a?

    4. If she need to fill up I-864, what document should I present since she doesnt have a job and pay taxes?

    5. In Question 25 of I-864 what should I check since she doesnt pay taxes?

6.Does she still needs to sign the I-864 if I'm (the daughter) the one who prepared it or should I just Fill up Part 9 of the I-864?

    Please advise.

    Thanks...

  5. Any other updates on actual experience on the POE of LPR outside of USA for less than a year?

What questions does the Immigration officers ask?

    https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1191

I read this on this website:

(LPRs that are out of the U.S. for more than 180 days are subject to new immigrant inspection procedures as per 8 USC 1101).

What inspection are they talking about?

My parents are green card holders and will be out of the USA for 8 months. This is their first time going out of the country. Just want to make sure that everything will be okay once they get back.

Any response will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  6. When you go to St. Lukes for Meical Exam, do you need to have a scheduled appointment or walk-ins are allowed?

If appointment is needed, how do you do it? Do you need to call St. Lukes? do they have an online appointment?

  7. Petition for mom first is the best thing to do then mom petition for the minor children...

But I have a question, how long does it take before mom's petition is approve and after it's approve how long before she gets her green card? So, if ever she gets her greencard, does this mean she can immediately file a petition for the children?

How long before the mom's petition for the kids gets approve? As far as I know it still takes, 6-8 years (hope not!)...

  8. Parents don't need to be US citizen to file a petition for their kids ,right? So as soon as they become, LPR,they can petition for their children. And it takes a shorter time.

Needs a visa number that generally takes around 3 to 5 years to be available. Best and fastest way is to bring your parents and once they have the citizenship they request him: that visa number generally takes a year and a half.

    this is a fine suggestion.

petition your parents and when they arrive in US, let them acquire US citizenship. after which, they can petition your brother..i guess thats the ONLY fastest way to bring him to the US.

  9. Hey Fahim,

Yourb brother and I have the same situation... Im a green card holder but as soon as I get my US citizenship, I'm planning to petition my parents with my younger sister who is just 12 years old.

I talked to a lawyer and he said that once I applied for an I-130 for my parents I dont need to have another one for my sister since there's a question in the form that " is there someone accompanying you?" and he told me to write my sisters name. SO, once my parents get their visa, my sister would be with them.

BTW, When is your brother planning to petiiton your parents. Maybe when he's done with the proces, you can update me so that I know what to do when it's my time to petition my parents.

Just keep me posted on other details you may know about this matter.

    Thanks.

    hey,

actually my elder brother is soon going to get his US Citizenship, what I want to know is when he files I-130 for Dad and Mom is it possible that he should file for one of our brother who is right now 16 years old?.. I have heard that child under 21 will travel with his mother?.. So will he be included in I-130 of our mom or what?.. a detailed answer will be highly appreciated..

    Thank You.

    Fahim
