  1. Hi,

My wife is in USA with K3 visa.

The I-130 is at NVC and about to be completed. More likely she will be scheduled for an interview abroad in a month or so. For obvious reasons ( economical and all) she dos not want to go back for the CR1 interview. Could it be done here? Is it possible to have the interview here in USA, instead of going back to the country for the consular interview? If it is, how?

    Thank you

  2. Hey all,

Has anyone out there tried to get a tourist visa while waiting for their Turkish spouse to get approval on the K3 visa? Or how about anyone else who has had experience in trying to get a tourist visa while waiting the K3- success anyone? Anyone successful from a country similar to Turkey??

Let me know, just want to be able to see my husband and can't travel back to Turkey for a while....

    Thanks!!!!

Getting the visa is NOT the problem! You might be able to get the visa but, the problem might rise up in front of the immigration officer at the airport in US!! This is too risky...

Immigration Office looks at the K3 Visa applicant as a potential immigrant. That's why they dont want you to come in US with any other visa.

  3. There are 2 barcode coversheets used by the NVC for the CR1/IR1 process. One is for the I-864 and the other one is for the DS-230. You can find both of them in the the National Visa Center forum under Timesavers thread, pages 10 & 11 are the updated instructions.

    Hello there,

I feel like stupid but I CAN NOT find the NEW DS230 cover sheet!!

I know it says "..under NVC timesaver pinned thread" but it is not in there. When you say page 11 what page are you referring to?

Would you please give the link for it, If you dont mind?

    Thanks.

  4. Hello there,

I'd like to you to share your exprience on NVC Administrative processing.

Our case (I129F) was received by NVC over 3 weeks ago. They sent me a letter with the case number. But, they did nor send the file to the consulate yet. I'm being told that the case is under administrative processing in Washington.

How long usually does this take? Is/was anybodyelse out there with similar situation?

When NVC completes the AP do they send me a notification to say that now it is being sent to the consulate?

    Thank you all.

  5. Hello Guys,

A quick question on filling out the I-864 form regarding the calculation of total houshold.

On part3-question 10 is asking how many immigrants is being supported by me. I'm supporting my wife only. So, I put "1" there.

On Part 5 question 21 asks to put that number from part3-line 10 (which is "1").

Then it says to enter 1 for yourself.

Then it says "if you're married" enter 1 ! Yes, I'm married and this affidavit is for her. And, I put 1 in line 10 for it. It also says do not repeat the same person.

Should I enter another "1" in the line says "....if you are married"? If I do this then the total would be 3 for the houshold!

    What do you guys suggest?

    Thanks ahead.

  6. Hi all!

we have seen similar topics in this forum, but would like to ask again on this topic...

We just got approval notice for both 130 and 129F ( we filed both in Feb this year....), and wondering what we should do..

Of course, we want to be together at the shortest amount of time......

Has anyone actually went through the same situation and chose one or the other??

I believe the I-130 (CR1/IR1) has numerous steps, touches, payments, movements, etc. between the NOA2 and the NVC sending it off to your Embassy; however, the I-129F (K-3) will not go straight to the NVC and off to your Embassy. You save significant time by pursuing the I-129F.

The bummer is the K-3 is MUCH more expensive now with the Adjustment of Status and EAD (working authorization), versus the I-130 Immigrant Visa allows you to work right away and doesn't require the AOS or EAD.

The I-130 is better, but slower if at the same NOA2 stage (well assuming something freakish doesn't happen with the K-3).

The options you mention effectively went away last November. Now the I-130 is held at the service center instead of ever going to NVC in cases where both the I-129F and I-130 are approved. The rare exception is when somehow they make a mistake and approve the I-130 ahead of the I-129F . This is not one of those cases.

Mine both went to NVC! I guess it all depents how you fill out the question 22 on the form (this is just a guess of mine)

Now, I have 2 (two) case numbers from NVC . One for K3 and the other is for I-130.

It has been almost 4 weeks now since I was given my case number for my K3, still the file is under Admin Processing. That's why I am also following up on I-130. If my K3 sits still for little more- the way it is doing now- I am going to go for I-130 full throttle.

P.S. ; does anybody have any exprience on administrative processing-waiting more than 3 or 4 weeks?

    Thanks

  7. Hello there,

I made a Mistake in I-130. On Question 22 I put down the consular name where my wife lives. But, my wife is not here yet.

We are wworking on K3 which is approved and at NVC-waiting to be sent to the consular.

The I-130 is also approved and it is also at NVC.

If I-130 gets to be processed before K3 everything should be OK, right? Because she is going to go to the interwiev there.

We go thru with K3 now and my wife comes here with K3 visa , then we follow up with allready approved I-130 would she have to go to the consulate it says in Question 22?

When she comes here with K3 and we just do AOS, Would that be no problem?

The bottom line question is :

Making that mistake in question 22 would interfere with anything at all?

    Thank you very much

  9. Hello Everybody,

Samething happened to me as well. I'm willing to go for K3 for now.

I129F&I130 was approved at the same time.

I received the letter from NVC about 2 week ago giving me the case number and telling me that the file would be sent to the consular in a week or so.. Since then I've been waiting. But, I found out that the consular did not get the file yet! So, I called NVC but I was told that my file is still being processed!! This was suprise to me and I could not get it. The letter I have is saying that my file is being sent but NVC is telling me that is still being processed. Does anybody have this type of exprience? or what do you think is happening?

In mean time I received another letter from NVC regarding I130. They are asking me to pay the $70.00 fee for the I-864.

Do you think this is normal for NVC to send a letter and keep processing the file for some reason? Would they send me another letter saying that the file is being sent now? People at NVC not saying much except " all I se is your file is being processed" . I sent them a couple of e-mails yesterday but, no answer yet.

I'm in dark and dont know what to do! Any ideas? Thanks.
