Refund from USCIS?

I don't know for sure, but I think it depends on the office you are going through. I had my biometrics done last August for lifting of conditions step, but I had to have them done again last week for my N400 application. I am going through the Cincinnati office.

Are there any Canadians that have tried to renew their passport from the US? I am a little worried because I sent in my renewal along with new photos, but as I'm reading the photo requirements (after the fact), I understand that Canada doesn't accept the American 2" x 2" photo style?!?!?! What the heck?!!? Has anyone had their passport renewal rejected because they sent in 2x2 photos?? So frustrating...

I renewed my Canadian passport from the US last year, I went to a photo store and had regular passport pictures taken and then we tried to cut them more to Canadian requirement size. I know that my pcitures were not exactly the size Passport Canada asks for, but I got my passport without any problems.

Yeah, I was relieved to not have to make the drive again, although I think some people have to drive way further to their nearest USCIS field office! I'm in Miamisburg.

Yeah, the drive to Cincinnati is not so bad, I see people write they have to drive hours to get to their field office and I feel lucky to have to only go an hour. We should get together! Miamisburg is so close to where I am - I would love to ask you about your citizenship interview.

That is good news, saves another drive to to Cincinnati for the ceremony. I'm in the Belmont area, near Kettering. What about you?

Congratulations on your interview! I am glad to see the N-400 process was quick for you as I just sent my N-400 application yesterday and I too am from Dayton and will be going through the Cincinnati local office.

You should be able to get an international money order from a Canadian Bank that is drawn in US dollars. I went to my bank (CIBC) and got a money order in US dollars drawn on a US bank. Most Canadian banks have a partner bank in the US. I would suggest asking your bank. I sent my money order from my Canadian bank and it was accepted without any problems.

Thanks to everyone who helped in my previous post. I was advised to use the K-1 Petition and am ready to send it all out. But I am in Calgary, Alberta Canada at the moment and need to know if the USCIS accepts a check or money order from a Canadian bank so long as it is in U.S. dollars? Or if there is any other solution as I do not have access to a U.S. account right now. Thank you!

I suggest you have somebody who lives at the US address you used on the I-129F send you a check or you send them the filing and let them attach the check and forward the package on to the service center.

Can you please update the timeline. I got my interview scheduled!!!! It is August 20 @ 8:30 am!!!

I called last night, only because I was bored, not expecting to hear anything new from the NVC operator - but to my surprise she told me an interview had been scheduled!! I had called earlier in June and was told that the NVC was done setting interviews for the month and I should call back in July. While I guess that wasn't right!!
