  1. I asked same question before but there is no one replied..

I interviewed and passed.. Today, I got IR visa at hand.

    thank you, VJers!!

By the way, my K3 is still pending at Vermont service center. I read many posts K3 is pending if I-130 is approved first but I'm not sure it's true.

In my case, is there no problem to enter US? Can I enter US with my IR- 1 visa although K3 is pending at VSC?

    Thank you in advance....

  2. I interviewed at embassy for IR-1 and I passed the interview. I will get visa in a couple or days...

By the way, my K3 visa is still pending...(Vermont service center)

Is there no problem to enter US with my IR visa (with K3 pending)?

FYR, I would like to share my interview experience..

I had abandoned my greencard in 2006 and reapply IR-1 visa. So, the consul asked me about that aggresively(I worried if I couldn't got visa). He wasn't freindly at all.... I explained our situation until he understand it... He asked me if I would abandon greencard again and I replyed NEVER!!!

And, other questions are, how many children? what's your husband's occupation? how did he acquire citizenship?

And, I brought copy of his employment letter(that's what I worried to be asked to bring original). Consul didn't ask to bring original..

    All VJers, good luck!!

  3. I got interview date(via response from NVC). but, I haven't got letter from the US embassy.

I don't have much time because the date is July, 1st.

    1. letter of employment : should it be notarized?

    2. tax return : need last 3 years or need only 2007 tax return?

Maybe they depends on countries, but I would like to know general proceeding....

    Thank you!!!

only affrordavit of support needs to be notarized----i year tax return

You mean affrordavit of support is I-864?

As far as I know, no need to notarize I-864....

    confused....

  4. My husband and I sent I864 & DS230 on late Apr. and I emailed to NVC and got the response as belows;

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's

processing has been received. As soon as an interview date has been

scheduled, the designated representative of this case (applicant, petitioner,

or attorney) will be notified. The US Embassy or Consulate General may

require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-> does that means our case was completed at NVC?

If so, what should I do ? And, what can I prepare beforehand?

    1. Will they(NVC) sent to my husband(petitioner) or me(beneficiary) the mail that states of our case?

    2. Should I schedule my interview date or the interview date is designated by US embassy?

    Thank you in advance..

  5. Tax return means the document my husband reports to IRS with W2 during tax season, right?

Tax transcript means the document IRS send to us when we request, right?

Then, is it OK to send tax return for 2007, not Tax transcript?

    forgive my poor english....

Can my husband use photocopy of tax return document that he filed in CPA firm as soon as he file tax return, not getting tax transcript from IRS? I would like to save time and it takes much time to get tax transcript for 2007 from IRS...

  6. My hubby never get IV bill although I sent DS2032 long long time ago. I requested it to resend it, but my hubby hasn't gotten it now.. He has I-864 package from NVS. So, I am thinking to create barcode sheet for IV bill with I-864 barcode sheet. Is it possible?

Is barcode sheet for IV bill same as that for I-864?

Can you describe the barcode sheet for IV bill?

You can't just create an IV bill. You must call NVC and find out if it has been generated first.

You can use the automated system or speak to an operator. Either way would let you know if your IV bill had been generated.

    Thank you for your reply.

NVC said they sent IV bill but my hubby hasn't gotten it. So, to save time, I would like to create it if possible. Is it possible to create barcode sheet for IV bill with the barcode sheet of I-864?

  7. I'm preparing DS230 beforehand. I almost finish the docs.

Is there anyone who can tell me that below is correct?

    1. photo of beneficiary : 2 pics

    2. DS 230 part 1 & 2 : fill in part 1&2/ sign just part 1

    3. birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate : certified copy

    4. passport : photocopy of biographic page

    5. 1 set of xerox copy of above docs

    6. sent to(i'm not sure) :

    National Visa Center

    ATTN: CMR

    32 Rochester Avenue

    Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

    Thank you in advance!!

  8. i didn't really read through the replies...but i would suggest making a copy and sending the original...you'll receive it back at the interview.....i was a little hesitant at first...but it saves you the trouble later...because nvc will accept a copy...but then again, they might hold you up and ask you to send it in after you've already sent in everything else....

safest thing to do is send in the original...just make a lot of copies just in case anything...also send in the original birth certificate...you get everything back at the end...

    Thank you.

  9. I'm preparing DS 230. I have a question for certified copy for marrage certificate.

Our marrage certificate is issued in the US embassy in Korea when we married. I would like to use certified copy than original(I have only one original marrage certificate).

Is it correct I can use photocopy(of orignal marrage certification) notarized by law firm(In Korea, law firm can notarized documents) for CERTIFIED COPY?

Or, should I get copy of marrage certificate from US embassy in Korea?

  10. I received and sent DS-2032 on Nov. 2007 but I haven't IV Bill yet. So, I sent a letter to NVC to send it me.

To save time, I would like to prepare something for IV bill and DS-230.

    1. how much the fee for IV bill? and, payable to Whom?(I would like to prepare money order beforehand)

    2. what is required documentation for DS-230? I downloaded DS-230 in USCIS site and fill it in. What else document I should prepare?

    Thank you in advance.

  11. I am filling I-864 and I have questions for I-864.

in Part 5. Sponsor's household size. Are the numbers correct?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Persons you are sponsoring in this affidavit:

    a. Enter the number you entered on line 10. ->1

Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit:

    b. Yourself. ->1

    c. If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse. ->0 (is it correct because I was already counted in 'Persons you are sponsoring in this affidavit'?)

    d. If you have dependent children, enter the number here. ->1

    total household size ->3

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

(My husband(US citizen) sponsors only me(because my son is US citizen). we have one son(US citizen) so total household size is 3. )

    Thank you in advance.

  12. I asked a question below.. after checking my situation, here is one more question...

We need tax return for 2006 to file I-864. My hubby(US citizen) worked a Korean company in Korea several months in 2006 and come to USA in August 2006 and he got a job in December 2006 in the US.

He hasn't file tax return for 2006 yet. Checking his income, his total income for 2006 is lower than poverty line. His present salary is higher than poverty line(he will send 'employment of verification' and pay stub with I-864). In this case, should we need joint sponser? or should we need some asset(cash..)?

  13. I am preparing I-864EZ. It needs tax return including W2 for 2006 to file. My hubby(citizen) worked in Korea in 2006 and he even didn't file tax return and he doesn't have any W2 in 2006. His income was higher than poverty line..

He begin working the company in US from 2007 so he can prepare 'employment of verification' of the company he works for now.

In my case, how can I prepare the document for I864EZ? He will do late tax return for 2006.

Is it OK to send I864EZ with 2006 tax return(without W2) with statement his status(he worked abroad in 2006 so he doesn't have W2 for 2006)(+the proof he works for US company now and his income is higher than poverty line now)..

    Please help..

  14. Should my husband(US citizen) use I-864 or I-864EZ for AOS?

My husband has a job(he is an employee of a company) and his salary is higher than poverty line.

But, he started the job on December, 2006. Before that time, he had worked in Korea(total income of 2006 is higher than poverty line)

We have one son(he is also US citizen and he lives with me now).

    Please help.. Thank you..
