I am Australian, but am currently living/working in rural north western Costa Rica, where the mail is way less than reliable. The only way I usually get mail is having it sent through my office - which is an international hotel.
Does anyone have any experience in a similar situation? I'm pretty sure an employer's address would not be acceptable for any of the application forms, but I am afraid I will not receive anything, or if I do get it I will miss deadlines...
HELP!
You may rent a PO box at local post office. I use PO box for all of my applications.

Im waiting on our second year apartment lease/contract, which might take another few weeks, but i dont know if thats a wise thing to do in waiting that long either or if it will come in on time. Do i just send the one that i got now? or wait for the both.
In NOA1, USCIS mentions that you may send any proof, if already has not been sent, with copy of NOA1. So, I guess, as soon as you receive NOA1, you may attach copy of your second lease and other docs, if any, with NOA1 and send it to USCIS.

They sent us a letter in May advising to await interview which I thought was odd because we were interviewed for AOS and had sent the biggest bundle of evidence for ROC that I have seen listed yet!!!
I just checked status online and it said :"

First of all: Congrats!
But you know what - this is honestly making me sick. I've sent my I751-package to TSC in March! and I'm still waiting for approval.
They really need to get this process adjusted so that everyone is waiting on about the same - not some approved in matters of days, and others wait months....
I agree. The people whose I-751s arrived at TSC after July 1 are the luckiest stiffs in the world b/c they got transfered to CSC, and they are now being approved before those of us who sent their I-751s to TSC months before.
I sent my I751 to CSC, still waiting.

Hi there,
I just want to know if the support letters from family and friends are absolutely necessary. I don't mean to sound cheap or anything but seriously the filing fee is over 500 dlls and notarizing letters is going to be close to 100 dlls, I mean, it's a lot of money, I know that I don't want them to give them a reason to reject my petition but I am not rich, if you guys know what I mean. Thanks guys.
1. Support letters are not necessary. They are weakest evidence anyway.
2. Notary services are free. You might find free notary services at local bank, credit union, at your work, at apt rental office etc....

I have a 2 year greencard which expires this November. I complete the application I-751 Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence with all necessary documentation.
I mailed everything on 7/26/07 to the Nebraska Service Center. Unfortunately I lost the receipt from the post office, so I have no way of tracking it. I do have the money order receipt. I've been checking for weeks now and it keeps saying that the money order has not been cashed. I do realize that it can take a while but honestly I am a little worried and don't know if they have received it or not.
Here is why. I filed everything before 7/30/07 that way I only had to pay $275 including biometrics.
They now changed the fee to $465 (plus $80 biometric service fee). Now you see why I'm so worried
Any suggestions?
If you filed application outside 90 day window, your application will be sent back to you. Count 90 days backwards from date of conditional green card expiry date.

I don't often check the online status cos I know we still have to wait a while, but I was bored! Anyway we were touched today! No news ofcourse, just touched:)
My case was also touched today and on 08/17 too. My biometric was done on friday (08/17). No change in status though.
-
Hi, I just wanted to share my experience and wish everybody good luck!!!
CSC is sooooo fast!!! We mailed everything June 27 and I just got approved, had my biometrics a week ago!!
I am so happy I don't have to go to an interview, that would have been so stressful!
So, good luck to everybody here!!!
xoxo
hey dianachristina
I mailed on 25th june and got approved on 1st august and received my green card today in the mail, so probably a week more u will have the GC in ur hand.
a big congrats!

When was your bimoetric done?
I had my biometric done today and just noticed that my case has been "touched" this evening. LUD is now 08/17.

Can any body help me how I know if Biometric Appointment Notice has been mailed? Will they post the mail date on USCIS online status? Thanks.
No, you won't.
Biometric appointment notices are usually sent within a week of NOA1. I recieived my appointment notice day next to the day I received NOA1.

How important is the I-751 cover sheet? have most sent or not sent cover sheets? any experience from those who have completed the process, I don't believe it is required? I have thought I would prepare one but just curious.
I remember when I filed my AOS in 2004. At that time, AOS package were submitted at respective DOs, not at chicago lockbox. Immigration guy at window took the package and didn't even read the coversheet. He threw it straight to trash, then casually looked at the package and stamped "received" on the top.
So, IMO, it really doesn't matter if one attaches coversheet with package. It just makes oe feel better that his/her package is more organized. Its not going to have any impact on decision.

IMO, USCIS applications should get notarized if you are filing without an attorney. What if smbdy signs his/her spouse signature on I-751 and file it? Notarized documents prove that all signatures are genuine and documents are signed by real ppl.
Friend/family letters are WEAKEST evidence and carry almost no weightage in USCIS eyes. There is absolutely no need to get them notarized as it won't add any value to letters.
-
Thanks I know we picked up the wrong one the second time ! Bummer ...
We had downloaded the right one the first time I do not know where my husband even found such an old version when he filled it in in the computer directly !
HOW LONG did it take for them to send the file back ? What a waste a time ...............
Thanks anyway !
Mine came back within 10 days. Get new form filled and notarized so that you can mail it same day you recieve returned pakage.
download form from USCIS website. Form here at VJ is old one and will get rejected.

Hi ...
Our file left this week and finally has arrived (tracking is OK).
Now I just realised when we prepared the form handwritten we downloaded the right form
OMB No 1615-0038 Expires 9/30/08 I-751 Petition
but
when my husband typed the information from the computer
he was on form
OMB No 1615-0038 Expires 9/30-05 I-751 Petition
What is "Rev mm/dd/yy" at bottom right of I-751? I have noticed that OMB No and expiry data havn't changed since last few additions.
Rev dat should be of this year. I used the form available on this site (OMB No 1615-0038 Expires 9/30/08with rev date 08/01/06) and they sent it back.
So Rev date matters not OMB date.

Online status doesn't change after biometric. LUD changes.
My case's LUD changed same day I had biometric. Case got approved after 10 days.
