My NOA1 was from Texas, while NOA2 was from California. When I checked online, it always showed Nebraska. Didn’t receive any notification of a transfer, but when we inquired thru myUSCIS messaging, we got a reply that said it was in California (this was a month after filing).

Thank you so much!!! Although I am curious as to where we are in the process, I will wait a bit more before sending an email to inquire, wouldn't want to delay the process any further!! haha Thank you and God Bless!! :)

The same thing happened to me.  I submitted four petitions online for my stepkids, all on the same day. They all went to the Texas Center first and then one went to CA and two went to Vermont. The one that remained in Texas and CA have already been approved by NVC and we are waiting for the interview dates.  The other two were sent to Vermont where the processing times is so long, and I have not heard anything on those yet.

It's the luck of the draw when it comes to the immigration process.

Totally Understand, thankfully we have God on our side, and all will work out as it's supposed to! We are just overly impatient by nature. LoL. Thanks so much for your input, and I hope that things with your remaining cases go quickly and smoothly!! :)

Does it really matter which USCIS service center has your case?  USCIS can transfer your case at any moment.........and there is nothing you can do to transfer it.   Patience is the key when dealing with the immigration process.

No, no it doesn't matter in the scheme of things, however, we are entirely new to this whole process, and just wanted to stay aware of the landscape regarding what might or might not happen; as I'm sure most of the novice people undertaking this daunting process can identify with... I appreciate your feedback.

  4. Filed October 4th. Receipt for payment lists Potomac as the assigned Processing Center, however, when checking case status online with Case Number, it states that our case is being processed by the Nebraska service center.  Has anyone else experienced this, and could anyone tell me why they're different? The approximate case times vary an average of 4 to 6 months between these two centers. Don't want to our hopes up about which one we are assigned if it is the opposing one.  Thank you!!!!
