  1. Hi all! I am writting in regards to the change of address after entering US.

Ok let me explain what happened to me when I came to US. Actually my address was changed before I enter the US and as I have read in some of the postings that I can give my new address to the immigration officer at POE. I tried doing so, but the officer gave me the USCIS web address saying that I can have the address change online. Well the next day I went online and filled in AR11. Now my question is, Does this really works? In that form I was only asked about the date of entry, old address and new address and off course my name and DOB. I am worried about what if it doesn't work and my green card get lost? Has anyone any idea how long it takes for the green card to come usually? and is there any other way to inform USCIS about the change of address?

Any feed back would be highly appreciated. thx! :)

  2. Hi!

A word of advice for you "Be patient!". Actually what happens some times, embassy approves everything but to clear last piece of doubt, they do a final back ground check through department of state. In most cases it takes some where between 3 and 3-1/2 months. Once they get the feed back from department of state, they issue the visa right away. The embassy kept my passport with them for ever 3 months and once the positive feed back was there from DOS they issued the visa.

For your satisfaction, you can call the department of state and ask for the status of your case. I am pretty sure, you will get some kind of answer from there.

    Good luck!

  3. Hi there! Sorry to hear about your husband, but when I see it, its also good. Look if he had loved you enough with his whole heart and soul, he would have never talked about divorce. I am sorry for being so straight forward and you might not like what I say, but that is the truth. Look me and my wife lived apart from each other for six long years and eventually Allah has rewarded us for our patience. Saying "I love you" is very easy to someone, but to prove the love is not that child's play. If you want to wait for him is something different and I am sure you love him more than he loves you. If he could turn his back to you now when you are pregnant with his child, what could you expect more of him? I am really sorry for you and happy that you still find it out in time. Be strong and try to go with the flow.

  4. Hey I had my case transferred two times. The first time it was from frankfurt to london and the second time it was from london to islamabad. Actually what I was told by the embassy, that when the case is transferred from one country's embassy to another, it is not done through UPS, DHL or any other courier service but through diplomatic way. It took 15-20 days for my case to be transferred from frankfurt to london and almost the same time from london to islamabad. Ok here I would like to mention one more thing. The embassy did not ask me to prove anything but they asked me to make a request of transfer in writting, which off course I did through Fax.

Ok now to what happened once the case is transferred? The embassy send me the packet 3.5 again and I had to provide them with all the documents again (police certificates from the countries I lived before and from the preset country, new medical examination, I had to fill in DS-230 once again and I had to furnish the embassy with a new affidavit of support). May be you won't be asked to provide all the documents like me because most of my documents wre more than 3 years old. But if they do ask you for them don't be surprised.

I was aksed to bring all these documents with me on the date of my new interview at islamabad embassy as I already had given one interview in frankfurt few years back. You might be interested in what they asked me in my second interview? Well the only question that made sense to me, why I am here and why did I stop persuing my case on frankfurt and london? So be prepared, the consular might asked the same question once the case is transferred. But this time for me the interview was for just 5 minutes.

After the interview they took my finger prints and did a back ground check for almost 3-1/2 months. After this times I was asked by the embassy to come again for a new set of finger prints cause the one they had last time from me had some problem. Then it took another 3-1/2 months for this check. After that once they were satisfied that I am cleaned they decided to issue the visa but before that they wanted a new confirmation if the relationship between me and my wife is still running. So I had to provide them with the proof of on going relationship. If you are lucky and all the documents that you provided are still valid and not expired, you will get the visa. This exactelt what has happened to me. Because all all the trouble I had gone throug my medical got expired and I had to provide them with a new one. After that I got my IR1 :)

I hope this info. is good for you and for the others who might wanna change embassies :) :)

  5. Hi everyone! Its not to disappoint anyone or let someone down. My personal experience with the frankfurt embassy was not so great. They kept my case with them for 4 years after my interview and there is a saying "to drag their feet", they did not even bother to do that. That was the worst thing happened to me in my life. Thanks to Allah, I got my IR1 now as soon I transferred my case to my country of origin.

I had a great experience living in germany. The country gave me my education and everything. It would be cherry on the top if I had received my IR1 visa also from there :) Well all in all no regrets because everything happens for the best! Good luck to all of you guys!

Ich wuensch euch das beste ins Leben und viel glueck und spass. Macht gut und aufwiederhoeren :)

  6. well I do not want to prolong that discussion over USPS but one thing I would like to add here. The european mailing system is much better than any mailing system in the world. Even the regular mail services (which does not include any courier service) works excellent. This I am saying on personal experience. And off course, every one talks from their own experience. Its worth paying every single extra penny, if you can rely on the service. Its not the matter of whats good or bad, but what best suits.

  7. Hi everyone! I just wanted to know a few things. I got my IR1 visa from the embassy. The scenario is that me and my USC wife are married for over 5 years now. I am planning to move to the state next month. My questions are:

    1. Do I have to do AOS or I am fine and don't need it because we are married over 2 years?

    2. Do I have to fill in I-94 in the plane or I don't have to fill it in at all?

    3. What kind of questions can be asked at POE? I am planning to land in Dulles Washington

    4. After entering the US, do I have to do anything else to get my GC and SSN or just sit back and relax and it will come by itself?

Please put in as much information as possible related to this topic as there is not much info. available to the married couples who are already married before filing there petitions and are married for more than two years already. Please add your personal experiences also. It will help many others to get through this lengthy process. Thx!
