  1. So just to give a background to my case, NVC contacted me initially saying my police certificate was rejected because it’s not from a correct issuing authority.

so I applied to my neighboring embassy in another country as we don’t have my embassy in the country I’m residing at , to replace it but it’s stuck in transit and not moved in over two weeks due to war, Covid delay.

So I uploaded the reason and they accepted it saying, “your documents reason is accepted and I’m qualified to move to the next phase of interview, however when you are able to obtain this document you will have to submit this document to the NVC”.

my question is what if I’m not able to obtain this police certificate as there is war going on in the country (Armenia) where I need to get my certificate from the embassy there?

    What happens at the interview?

Would I still need to submit t after an interview or would they understand that it’s beyond me to get it?

(p.s. I had initially submitted a police certificate from my home country but it was not the correct issuing authority).

  2. Does anyone from India with IR1/CR1 case know y an original Indian birth certificate would be rejected by NVC?

the reason they gave in the messages was- not correct issuing authority!

but mine is from the correct issuing authority according to NVC guidelines for India.

So to anyone who uploaded an Indian birth certificate on ceac website do u need to apostle the birth certificate before uploading it to NVC?

could that be a reason y NVC rejected the document, because mine was not apostled!

and I live outside India so with this covid border issues, gettin apostle is a hassle!

  3. Also just to be clear,

So my original birth certificate was rejected by NVC, reason given in the messages— it should be from the correct issuing authority.

mine is from the correct issuing authority from my country according to NVC guidelines for my country!

The only reasons I can think of is improper scanning or not having apostle.

but to get Apostle  is a hassle  because it needs to be sent to my birth country and I don’t know how long it can take with the courier and covid border restrictions!

My question is could not having an apostle be the reason for rejection because NVC reason for rejection is wrong!

or could it be a scanning mistake/like I could use a high resolution scan next time I resubmit?

    please help!

    thanks!

I followed the RFE to messages given to me by NVC, and did not upload I-864A during the first RFE.

As a result, the second RFE asked me to upload I-864A again, so I was also confused about the standards required by NCV.

In addition, foreign spouses are required to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, so I really still want to respond to this RFE.2.thumb.JPG.e44060854927d3e28f4485b2be4273e1.JPG2.thumb.JPG.e44060854927d3e28f4485b2be4273e1.JPG

So what was the reason given for rejecting your birth certificate?
