My mom got her immigration visa today in Russian Embassy in Moscow. All I now that altogether it took her only two hours and the interview itself took only 5 minutes. She was asked only one question. I'll try to post details later

My login failed this morning checked few minutes ago and i checked the AVR but it did not change the message from "checklist letter response received on 29-Oct-2009". When will AVR change?

Will i get email from NVC that the case is completed?

Raj, congratulations. Finally, they approved it. Now, you won't get any message form them that your case has been completed. You'll get a letter with an interview date .

I can't believe it. Just opened my e-mail box and found out that my mom's interview will be in Moscow on December 17th. Unbelievably fast

Raj, it can only be my guess, but it seems to me that NVC is trying to process the cases of people who applied in July first (as I remember you applied in August). That is why you have not gotten your approval yet. I hope next week you will get one.

My mother is going to have the inteview in Moscow 12/10/09. Please update.

Can you post your details of when you mailed your DS-230 and when it was received by NVC? Also did you get checklist email if u got it when did u get that.....small things like that so that i will know where i stand.....

Thank you everybody. Raj, I've sent out DS-230 packet on October 26, it arrived to NVC next day, on October 27. DS-230 was entered into the NVC system on October 31.

I indeed got checklist email, but already after I sent my packet. I printed cover sheet with the bar code which was obviously enough to get the case moved.

I am trying to petition for my wife's mother to come to the US. My question is for now do I just submit form I-130 to the NVC and wait for instructions or do I need to submit DS230 or I-864 along with the I-130?

You got to send only I-130 to USCIS. Other forms you will submit after your I-130 is approved and your case is transferred to NVC.

I don't know about Albania, but in Russia you have to have prepaid visa delivery by DHL . It arrives about 3 to five days after the visa is issued.

I called NVC this morning. My was case completed yesterday, Oct. 30th. Waiting fro the interview...

I received my interview date email from NVC! for Dec 1, 2009!

Domi22, there are 2 types of RFE:

FALSE RFE - if NVC claims it is missing entire document and you just sent it less then a week ago

REAL RFE - if it was more then a week since you mailed your packet and NVC emails you a request for a specific document like birth certificate etc.

I agree with others that it is pretty dangerous for your mom to be out of status here in USA, even for a short period of time. Try to apply for extension of her stay here. You need to fill out form Form I-539.

Your citizenship process might not take so much time as you've mentioned. I got my citizenship in July in less than 5 months (I'm also in New York state). I was in the same situation as you being married with US citizen and having green card for 3 years. The only piece of advice I can give you is as follows: try to prepare as meticulously as possible for the citizenship interview in terms of supporting documentation: this is the last time you will have to prove that your marriage is true and bona fide. Therefore, take all papers which would indicate that you have joint property and assets, or that you pay for rent and utilities together, take your pictures from vacations, your medical insurance cards, GYM cards. Bring everything possible you can think about. It won't hurt. Otherwise it is going to delay the process.

1) IV Bill showed PAID, printed out Cover Sheet, but when click on "Go to Application Processing Instruction", it showed a dead end, is this normal? Should it show where/how to get/download DS-230 form?

2) When mailing in DS-230 package, are only documents related to the Beneficiaries are required with DS-230 application? is Petitioner's document also required to be sent along with, again (we sent these during the I-130 process, right)?

1. I just downloaded DS-230 from NVC website.

2. Yes, you have to include petitioner's original birth-certificate along with original marriage certificate (if any) into DS-230 package.
