  1. Hi everyone i have a problem my I-130 AND I-129F WERE APROVED ON AUGUST 2 2007, BUT MY DAUGHTER WHO IS 6 YEAR OLD PETTION IS STILL PENDING. MY QUESTION IS DO WAIT TILL HER I-130 IS APROVED BEFORE I CONTACT THE NVC AND TELL THEM I WANT TO FOLLOW THRU WITH THE I-130 ALL THE WAY AND CANCEL THE 129F. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ! :help

GO FOR CR1. TELL THEM TO CANCEL I-129F. GOOD LUCK!!!

  2. I finally bought the ticket for 61,000 and its confirmed by PIA. I would like ask a quick question here that I also received a brown envelope with my passport which is sealed but on top of that it has a sheet attached with my picture and all of my biographic details. In that sheet they put my previous US address where I use to live 6 years ago as my final address in the US, now no one lives there what should I do to change that coz I think they will mail my 10years G.C at that address. Can I change that address at the port of entry by explaining the situation or not?

    Thanks!!!!

I would not suggest changing anything that embassy has put in that envolop. I do not know which city are you in. You may want to call or email the embassy and discuss this issue with them. By the way, didn't you write in your IV Application where u want them to mail your green card?? I believe that is where they will mail it. Ok, Have a safe journey and Congratulations again!!! regards, kim

  3. help: I am confused ,i filed I-129F application for K-3 before July,30 but i did not attach any money order or check because i thought that they would recieve it in or after July,30

Please help ,what will they do for my case?????

    thanx

i got the complete package back and they told me to resend it again without any fees.:thumbs:

First you said that you filed it and did not attach any fee. Then, you are saying that they returned it and want you to resend them without fee. What a contradiction!!! Could you explain???

  4. Finally I reached US on 29th July. I sat in a room for almost 3 hours in JFK airport. An officer ask me few questions, i.e

    1. What kind of job i was doing back home country ?

    2. Any work in military related, or training.

    3. My wife's address.

Then he said wait for more processing. It took 3 hours to clear from JFK.

Today on 30th July i went to social security office. I submit the form and an officer gave me a letter that it will take 4 to 6 weeks.

    Welcome to your new home!!

My wife and daughter had their interview today. Their interview time was 8AM. The interview went pretty well. She was interviewed on two separate windows and asked several ususal questions regarding how the marriage was arranged, when we got married, where did we get married, what do i do in the US, how much I earn, when and where our daughter was born, how often I have visited her, where have we lived together since our marriage, key dates of her prior visits to US and other place etc.

In the end, she was told that she meets all requirements of immigrant visa and has been approved. The immigration officer returned all her original documents along with receipts for collecting passports from AMEX. The immigration officer told her that she will receive her visa within a week.

I will keep you posted for any further updates.

I would like to thank all of you for your help, suggestion, support and for sharing your experiences. I wish all of you good luck in your immigration process and wish you a speedy and happy reunion with your families.

    Thanks,

Congratulations!! Hope, they will get visa within a week!!

    Congratulations to you!

Where did you get this post from? Is the date right? Feb 28 2007? A bit late in congratulating, huh. :innocent:

I believe I saw it here yesterday and just replied. Didn't notice the date at that time. May be, someone mistakenly reposted it. Thanks for your help again! regards, kim

  6. kim relax, i think the lpr may have thrown stabu off. when you applied for your spouse you weren't a citizen but a lpr, then you became a citizen during the process and notified the uscis. got it. your noa1 was issued on oct 2, 2006. before adding you to the list, give us a date on when you sent the petition, what day in sept.

    JK

I sent the I-130 on Sep 25, 2006 and recived NOA1 on Oct 2, 2006. Thank you for your reply and help!

  7. kim_786, I cannot add you to the list, as I don't understand your NOA1 date, someone more intelligent than me will have to help me with this uppdate

It is not a rocket science. This is what I wrote"I filed I-130 for my wife to VSC in Sep 2006 as a LPR(Legal Permamnt Resident). Recived NOA1 on Oct 02, 2006."

But never mind. You do not need to update it. Thanks for youre help!!

  8. Hello everyone, Sorry but I have been extremely busy with work, preparation for my wife's arrival, etc.

Well, here's the great news. My wife got her visa on the 24th from the AMEX office and left Pakistan on the 27th. She finally arrived through New York and is here with me right now as we speak....actually as I type. She is exhausted, hasn't slept in days and is sleeping right now. The journey was long and tiring. Anyway's, Thank you everyone for your support. I will be checking in periodically since this forum is an addiction now, however i'm sure it will be less often then before. Take care, and good luck to everyone.

Congratulations to you and to your wife!!!

  9. Hi all,

This is a good thread. I will be very thankful if you can add me on the list and if someone answer this question. I filed I-130 for my wife to VSC in Sep 2006 as a LPR(Legal Permamnt Resident). Recived NOA1 on Oct 02. Then, I became a US Citizen in June 2007 and upgraded the petition. Recived a letter from Vermont on July 10 that they have upgraded the petition. As u know, USCIS Website is saying that they are processing cases from "DEC 17, 2006". How long do u think it will take before the approve it? Thanks for your help!!!! regards, kim

  11. I am usually a pretty happy and positive person, always joking and talking with security and people who are helping me--because i appreciate their help. Well, today my husband who has his permanent resident visa with stamp in his passport (still waiting for the green card to come in the mail) went to the USCIS office to see why he hasn't been put into the system yet. well first of all the security guard (rent-a-cop mind you) was completely rude as we approached. He said to me, One at a time, but I guess my husband didn't hear and told the guy--I'm with her. The security said no you aren't and closed the door in his face. okkkk....then proceeded to bark orders at me to pass through the metal detectors. Ok whatever.

Then when our number is called, we went up to the appropriate window. Keep in mind, this is 730 in the morning so we were like 3rd in line...I mention this because the probability that the immigration officer has dealt with a ton of horrible people already today is quite low. so we walk up, and he barks "Appointment form!" so we hand him the infopass printout. Then he said "what" as in what do you want. I explained that we had gone to the social security office and they couldn't issue us a number because he hasn't been put in the system yet. And before I finished my sentence, he cut me off and said "probably because he's illegal!" I said no, he's legal he has the stamp in his passport. He was fumbling through the passport almost ripping pages out and my husband said, "here, i'll show you". The officer literally threw the passport back...it hit the window!! OK.... so we show him the page and all the while he is yelling at us and of course never making eye contact. Finally, he finds our information and said "See just like i said, it take 6-8 weeks...your paperwork is in the texas service center waiting to be processed. But don't come back at the 8 week mark because it could take even longer. And don't even think about expecting your green card for a year." Ok..... We thanked him very much and left.

I understand that it must be hard dealing with immigrants all day...trying to speak in a common language can be frustrating. BUT hello.....I spoke to him in his own accent! How could someone possibly be so angry so early in the morning? What is so frustrating is that these people take advantage of the immigrants because they need him to help them! There is no he would speak to people that way in a normal situation. These people thrive on having power and control over others just to compensate for their own shortcomings!

I was thinking of saying something to him like "did i offend you in some way" but I could just picture him hitting the delete button with pleasure on my husband's record.

What a way to ruin the morning!

    Sorry just venting!

    Thanks for listening.

I am sorry what has happened to you. Please understand that it is a waste of time to go for an Info pass. You can get the same information if you call the 800 number and then, tell them to speak to the IO. I have dealt with this stupidity for more than three years and I can personally tell you that Info Pass is a waste of time. You are right that they take advantage of immigrants because they know that our cases are stuck and we can not do anything because we are dealing with a Stupid Agency.

  12. Congratulations on the upgraded petition status!

NOIR/NOID means the case is being sent back to the US for Notice of Intent to Revoke or Notice of Intent to Deny. Thrice in the thread above means they were put on AR/AP three times. Hope this helps.

    Mary

Thank you Mary! and sorry for putting "dude" in the previous post. I actually had this nick name in another forum that I use for several months and it is still in my mind. Hope you understand! regards, kim

  13. Mary,

Hope you are doing fine!! Thanks for updating the list. Can you or anyone explain to me what does it mean "THRICE 21, MAR,2007 **NOIR May 2007"?? I mean what does "THRICE" and "NOIR" mean?? This petition I belive is longest wait time that I have seen here. Hope he recives his visa soon.

And justed wanted to let you know that I just recived a letter that VSC finally upgraded my wife's petition to CR1.

Thank you in advance for your prompt reply!!! regards, dude

  14. yes but what about direct consular filing?

Check these links and you can also do google on direct consular filing. I think she can do DCF, but only if she is working for a US company or US government in Pakistan. Otherwise, as far as I can see, for I-864, she will need that domiclie thing as described in the file that I attached. But if she has no other option, then, I would suggest, just go to the embassy and file the I-130 there and let's see what they say.

  15. Hafiz I would think she would have to come back to the USA, set up domicile, and get a job. Then she could file the I-130 and let it process thru the system and once approved her husband would come back to the US on IR-1. Having no domicile and job in the USA will be an issue.
She is a US citizen, her passport expires in 2008. She moved to pakistan a while back like a few years ago. And so she got married in pakistan and she lives in pakistan. Now she wants to bring her spouse to US. she has been in pakistan for more than 5 years, What is the process she must follow. Can she file for directly through embass. She does not have any relatives in US. Everyone moved to pakistan 5-7 years ago.

I agree with Mary. I was reading on DOS Website about this. She will have to come here and set up a domicile. You can read about this in detail if you go to Immigrant Visa and then Affidartive of Support(I-864) section at DOS website. Please see the attched file and if possible, email it to your friend. It is from DOS website and explains in detail about domicile and who, how, and when is it needed. regards, kim

Here is the file. Sorry, I forgot to attach it!!

  17. Hello everyone,

I know I am just impatient with this whole process, but how long do you think I have to wait till I hear something from the NVC, I just got approved for the I-130 recently July 10, 2007. I live here in the USA and my husband lives in Canada. We have been apart for three years....So, I am anxiously awaiting to see what the next step is....when do you think I should call them, probably next month huh? It seems like they are a bit behind according to the NVC timeline in Missouri....well, in the meantime is their anything else I could be doing or is it just waiting..... :crying::wacko::whistle::blush:

Have you called the NVC?? There number is (603) 334-0700. call them and find out. I think you should give them atleast one more week before you start to worry. It's early now since they just approved your petition last week. ###### luck, regards kim
