@jackyli918918 I don't think they told you the right thing. You should be able to get a I-551 stamp, even as a LPR with pending I-751.

Try calling them again. Maybe they're missing the fact your extension letter expired.

Thank you for your suggestions. I will try to call them again on Monday. However, if they are smart enough, they should know it as soon as they pull up our file to look when I was talking to them couple weeks ago. This is also a sign of lack of detail. Also I was clearly to asked her a couple times about the info pass. She said that it doesn’t apply to our application and situation. She could be wrong, I hope I will get a better answer from other person next time I call again.

This is just very disappointing and bad experience of moving into USA.

So, as some here suggested I called USCIS to schedule an info pass appointment. They told me I am on a waiting list and they can’t guarantee that I get an appointment before my status expires… since then I received 2 emails that “thank me for my patience” and that there are no appointments available as they go in order as you have been put on the list.

my status expires September 23rd. Can I just show up at the USCIS service center and get the stamp in my passport?

    Hello,

we are the same situation as you have now. The card expired two years ago, and the I797 letter expired on 9/14/2022. I called USCIS couple weeks ago. They said they scheduled us last December 2021 for interview on April 2022. But then they canceled the interview without noticed. We didn’t even get letters about scheduling and cancellation at all. We were waiting for the whole time. The lady that I was talking to, she thinks because it was Covid and USCIS at our location was limited closed or whatever, so they don’t have enough people to process. She put a notice on our document and hope to reschedule soon. She said the only thing we can do is just WAITING!!!!

I also asked her about the info pass, she said in our situation, for conditional green card removal, there are not a option to get the info pass stamp. She said we could apply for the reentry US form, which we need to pay for another $600 or so, file another stupid form, and wait for god know how long we need to wait for the slow government make the process.

it is such a very lack of communication and falling apart of process. We are now not about to travel out of country or if we travel, we will have trouble to come back.

Anyway, I hope you and us will hear things back soon.

I did. I went in for biometrics last week. It was really quick, I was done in less than 15mins. Probs because there was no one there except for the 4 employees who were working at that time. They took a photo of me and my fingerprint.

What a great service???!!! Four employees to one customer 🙂

I filed since the end of June 2020, I have not received any biometrics letter. I am Missouri Service Center

I was trying to figure out if there's a pattern with the biometrics notification. It looks like there is no pattern at all. A lot of people did get an update saying their biometrics were waived like 4-6 weeks after filing. But some people got it as late at 2.5 or even 10 months after filing. T_T I'm kinda nervous about it. I have not heard anything about biometrics yet and we filed a month ago now.

It's exactly 12 weeks from now since we filed our I-751 and we still waiting for the biometrics appointment. All the service centers are built to do all these kind of jobs. I have no idea why they keep pushing back our date. Don't tell me that they didn't have enough fund to hire people to do so as we ALL paid the fees for all the process. There are no excuses for these kind of long wait.

Im in the same boat as you.. still have not received biometrics appointment or a notification that they used the biometrics from 2 years ago. Our case also starts with MSC... I wonder if everyone with MSC is dealing with the same thing? We received our receipt in early July I want to say. As of then, still nothing.

    Thank you for replying.

To everyone at the same boat, with MSC: If you have any update, please let me know, greatly appreicate

    Hi All,

    Just sharing my info:

    June 1st - sent in I-751 package

June 5th - Received by Phoenix lockbox

June 10th - received text message & cheque cashed - Case number starting MSC (national benefits center)

June 16th - Received update that fingerprints have been reviewed and they are moving onto the next step.

Hoping the process goes quickly and smoothly for us all!

    Hello,

I am happy for you that something is moving in your waiting time.

    Below is my timeline

    6/17/2020 mailed out I-751

6/19/2020 USCIS received and provided case number

    6/28/2020 USCIS withdrawal $680

6/30/2020 USCIS sent out I-797 to let us know they received our appication and extended 18 months of conditional resident status

Until then, we never heard anything back.

I was doing the website research, most of the people are saying the biometrics appointment is about 4 weeks after they sent out I-797. I think the 9 weeks that we have been waiting is just around the corner. Do anyone know more about the timeline? or any idea how longer to wait for the biometrics?

In addition, I have seen not only you, but a lot of people have received the fingerprints schedule in about a week after they received the text message and cashed out the fee.In my case, I have been waiting for almost 9 weeks, is that mean something else?

PS: My case is also starting with MSC from Seattle

After a false start from a rejected application (wrong application edition 😖), we finally got the USCIS text message and notice from our bank that the check was cashed this morning!  Receipt date was 8/21 and I assume the application is now headed to the Potomac Service Center because the receipt number begins with "YSC."  Now the real waiting begins!

    Hello,

Good luck for waiting and welcome to join the club!!!!

I also saw some other posts at other area that someone never have the biometrics but just able to get a green card renewal. Does anyone know anything about it?

There are two of us in this thread who filed in July 2019 and have not done biometrics yet. It's possible that previous biometrics may be used but neither of us have had any notice stating that.

I believe we have both filed N400 now, so hopefully that forces some kind of progress.

Interesting... If whatever you said is truth from the fact that using the previous biometrics, so that I wonder why they charged me for that additional $80 for biometrics if I am not required to get the biometrics done or using the previous biometrics?

status. biometrics was around 10, 11 months

Biometrics take 10-11 months? Do you mean the time you were waiting between case received and biometrics was about 10 months? This is ridiculous!!!
