  1. I wish they would have let us pick. The embassy in mexico city emailed us a little over a week ago with an assigned interview slot (today!) and we couldn't change it at all. Calling and emailing the embassy were both futile, they said they can't change the date. Thankfully we were very organized going into this step, but it really messes up a vacation we had planned to go on together.

  2. Is it possible to travel to the US after the K1 interview but before the visa is issued? NVC scheduled our interview for next week without contacting us first, and it happens to fall right before a pre-planned trip for my fiancee to visit and attend a friend's wedding. We are not going to be able to get all the required police certificates before the interview since she lived in several other countries and their embassies are being very slow to respond to her requests. So we are planning for the visa to be denied until those documents are submitted.

We had no issues after NOA1 and NOA2, she's been coming every few months and never had questions at the POE before (Officers were stamping her passport straight away, not even asking about length or purpose of visit in most cases), but this is uncharted territory for us.

  3. Like the thread title, I was shocked today to see not only that the consulate in Mexico City had received our packet from NVC, but that they had scheduled an appointment for my Fiancee just 10 days from now with no input from her. Has anyone had luck rescheduling a K1 appointment in a reasonable timeframe (i.e. before next year)? We still need police certificates for her, my bank & employer letters for I134, a new original of both our birth certificates, etc.
