Hi,
I am a Canada PR living in Montreal
I had scheduled my visa interview for March 2020, but it got cancelled since then (Covid reasons); and now I have interview scheduled for March 2021.
Since Covid is still ongoing, I am not sure how will I defend my travel plans to the Visa Officer should he ask about it - there are still lot of travel restrictions in place from Canadian Govt.
Should I still go ahead with the interview or rather schedule it to a later date ( availability for Sept 2021 only).
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Yes correct, Permanent Residents of Canada require US visa to make any landing in the States

Thanks Chancy and SusieQQQ :)))
That was helpful, I will definitely try and take a follow-up from them :) -
Hello Jan22, Thanks for the message :)
Yes, appointment needs to be booked within a year. So in my case it was from Sept 2019 to Sept2020. The embassy re-scheduled my appoinment from April 2020 to Sept 2020, and now when I am loggin to my portal, it is not showing up :(All the other dates are coming up from Jan2021, and that too not in my city or province.
So now I am clueless what happened to my application fees (which was CAD400), it is a loss for me if my appoinment has been cancelled without prior notice :(( -
Hello All, I am new to this forum. I am a Permanent Resident in Canada. So my case is that I applied for US Tourist Visa last year in November from Halifax City, but had to move to Montreal in a month. So I moved the date to this year in April. Then again due to Covid-19, the dates were automatically changed to September. Now when I recently checked my profile, it said *book an appointment*. Which means our dates for Visa has been cancelled without any intimation. And since the Visa fees is valid for one year, so it will be expiring this September. So I have no idea, how to take that forward as I got no confirmation email saying my dates have been cancelled. Plus I will be loosing application fees too.
Any help/feedback/suggestion would be really appreciated.
Look forward to hear from you guys :)))
Thanks in Advance!

Thanks for your replies. Just to add more info, I was solely planning a trip in June2020 for leisure purpose - drive to NY and stay for a week or so.
But now, since the circumstances are way different, I don't know if its worth risking a road trip even if the border is open for permanent residents.
Hence, no concrete plans till the time pandemic settles down.
