2 - She can change her name in the SS card. Maybe was the name provided in the form she request it? https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-01981

this makes no sense, i already included the marriage license and certificate when she applied for the SS card. i even wrote on the SS application that she wants my last name on her card.

  2. my wife and i are about to send out K-1 AOS packet and we just got her SS card in the mail today.

Before we applied for her SS card, we got married first. We then submitted all documents her passport, birth certificate, and our marriage license and marriage certificate to the social security office.

But when we got the card today, it still shows her OLD last name, rather than my last name.

On the marriage license and certificate, her NEW LEGAL name is :Mary Jane Doe (example), but on the SS card it still shows Mary Jane Smith.

why did they do this? should i still include her SS# on the I-485? will this be a problem when i use her SS card to add her to my bank account?

  3. My wife and I will be mailing our AOS packet (we did K1 visa) very soon, but she still doesnt have health care.

I am using my state's free public health care and I checked online and found out online on my state's health care website, that immigrants are allowed to apply.

My wife is in her 20's and in perfect health. But i would like her to have the same free public health like me.

That being said, if she applies ONLY for free public health, will it affect her green card status? Will she be denied??

    thanks for your help

  4. My wife had her medical done in her home country In June 2020 but didn't get vaccinations because of her strong religious belief. The only thing we got from her doctor in her home country is form DS-3025 (which shows no vaccines received) and a CD of her chest x-ray. She is now here with me in the USA.

We will be filing a religious exemption for the vaccine.

My question is, when we mail I-485 and I-864 next month, do we have to include the DS-3025, which shows she was NOT vaccinated?

I read on the instructions of I-485 and it says:

You are NOT required to submit Form I-693 at the time you file your adjustment application, but may do so if you wish. Because of the time-limited validity of Form I-693, you may choose to submit your Form I-693 after you file your Form I-485. You may also submit Form I-693 in person at an interview in a USCIS field office, if an interview is required. By waiting to submit Form I-693, you may avoid having to repeat the immigration medical examination.

    thanks for your help
