  1. I got a PM the other day about my process, so I figured I'd update my siggy and let yall know I filed for a non contest divorce that was finalized in April. We haven't spoken in a year and a half so I just didn't see the point in staying legally married just so I may be able to help him try again next year. He sent back the divorce papers with a love letter that I'd sent him a week after we got married....such a loser. Since I left, he's never had anything nice to say to me. I guess he's still bitter.

I'm just glad this chapter is officially closed.

Congrats on all the successful visas and marriages and good luck to all of you still in this process....you'll get through it!

    :)

  2. Hello all,

Hope all is well with everyone. Congrats to all the new approvals etc.

I'm doing well. No divorce yet, but we haven't talked in over a year. lol

I've prepared all the paper work and all that I just have to get it filed. I'm starting to feel like if I don't have a proposal to remarry then in two years I'll help him again. He'll be older and more mature. But then I think it's his problem and I need to be legally divorced (all the girlfriends agree). I don't think I'll ever get back with him but I just have a soft spot. He's friends thought he was suicidal for a while. *snicker*

Maybe in two years I can give him the chance to get back one of the things he lost. Never me, of course

    any thoughts

WAH FI BE WILL BE AND A HIM MESS UP NOT U..SO IF U FEEL IN UR HEART IN 2YRS IF U WILL DO IT AGAIN...POWER TO U..BET HE LEARNED HIS LESSON

I don't even know why of late I start feel sorry feem. But I do. We don't even talk.

  4. After all the talks, warnings and pre testing the child I happened to be married to failed the ganja test and of course is banned for three years. The situation from 7 years ago did come up but was irrelavent due to his positive test results. My husband doesn't expect me to sacrifice any more time with his dum a$$ and I've pretty much decided that he's not worth it and I should move on. If I wasn't worth it to him I don't see how he should be worth it to me especially after all this time of being separated.

Not sure yet if I'll file for divorce, but I'm definitely moving on. If three years goes by and I haven't found someone else I want to be married to then I will support him when he returns to the embassy but I can't see myself being in a relationship with someone so immature and selfish. I'll file for divorce then. For now I'm just focusing on me and my goals until I'm ready to start dating again maybe sometime next year.

I figured if I could be another example to deter a stubborn spouse I should do it. Unfortunately for me no matter how many stories I shared with him he could not take heed but rather learn the hard way.

Congratulations on all the new approvals and good luck for all the interviews coming up. I'm pulling for all of you.

  5. Thanks for all of your concern ladies  but I am sure he made the best choice by being honest. I feel like yall are just bringing more doubt on our already dubious situation instead of trying to be uplifting. What's up with that?

I think everyone here is extremely supportive.

But the thing is not to loose sight of the fact that this is also an important resource for hundreds of people agonizing over what is the best choice to make.

Nothing anyone says here can affect the outcome of your personal case, but people reading where you may have gone wrong is an invaluable resource to them.

This is most definitely a place to come to and receive support, but if someone does something that may not be the wisest move, I think others should be able to point that out for the benefit of everyone else.

Doesn't mean they are being mean, spiteful or not being supportive, all it does is show that they are being objective about the situation.

It has often been said here to NEVER EVER admit drug taking.

To admit is YOUR CALL, for you it might very be the best choice.

But for someone wondering whether to admit it who is reading the thread, the general consensus is NEVER admit it.

So for everyone to come along and say 'Oh you'll be fine, don't worry' is a double-edged sword, yes you feel happy and supported, but what about other people who might very see what you decided to do and thought 'oh she did the right thing, let me do the same'.

well if the person read my post in its entirety I don't see how they would be mislead by my experience. and I'm sorry if I don't agree that being objective about a situation that has already passed is extremely supportive.

On a lighter note! Melvin received his medical in Mobay and was told that the embassy would receive his results via mail. So hopefully things well will work out and the embassy will receive it on time. He said they did not use the sealed envelope technique with him  But thats okay. Thanks for your words of encouragement anyways.

Mr. Man did his medical today also but I forgot to ask him if they gave him the results. lol

Anyhoo because of an issue that prolly will come up at the interview (didn't want to risk lying) he checked yes to ever using drugs  so the doctor gave him a marijuana urine test NOT BLOOD. The doctor asked him when he used it and he told him that it was when he was a teenager and he was experimenting  . I'm confident he'll pass since he passed the blood test couple weeks ago. He believes the doctor would not have tested him if he didn't admit to using it in the past (on the medical sheet). The doctor also told him the blood test was only for HIV and I think TB.

So my advice, as others have said, is NEVER admit to using it unless you have some other reason to. And if for some reason you want to admit it, at least lie that it was over 3 years ago because they WILL ban you. And don't tek the urine weed test as gospel many people have been given blood and/or hair tests

I'll get back to you about whether they gave him the results or not.

  6. that's exactly what I want to do

I also want to volunteer at a legal aid clinic helping folks filling out immigration forms and such. And I'm in the process of applying to law school and trying to get a job at an immigration law firm for the next year. I just finished updating my resume over the weekend and I got it critiqued yesterday so I'll be working on it some more today. I have a few firms I'll be sending them out to next week. Wish me luck

but ultimately I want to go back home and do politics and tell the ppl dem nuffi

  7. Erasing any further doubt, I just got an email from the Kingston Embassy:

    RE: KNG2007xxxxxx - Interview Date

    From: Kingston, IVinfo (kingstonivinfo@state.gov)

    Sent:Thu 8/23/07 12:13 PM

    To: Tamieka

    Dear Madam

The date that you got is set for your interview.

    Kingston IV

the date assigned for our interview is set!!!:dancing: Can you tell I'm excited.

Glad you got that doubt "they" put in your head cleared up

  8. well whatever. The fact that the medical is done and gone should be enough to avoid talking about "hope you didn't make a MISTAKE" rolleye0010.gif That kind of talk only makes people doubt themselves. And talking to Belly's Girl can't help after the fact anyway.

If you don't see how that would throw someone off then fine. And if you really meant to be helpful, thank you. ( I guess you wouldn't know I've read just about every yardie thread/ and thread about ganja on VJ)

thanks to the other well wishers also love0047.gif

Like Kimmy said it's all in God's hands now. We just have to wait and see.

[/color]Hi all...well, I just want to start out saying that I thank each and every one of you for the help that you have provided along the way for our K-1 journey. As you may know, our interview was on Thursday, and despite our best efforts, the visa was denied--due to his admitted marijuana use from about 2 1/2 years ago...You know, a couple of weeks before the medical I said to him, if they ask you about drugs just say that you've never used them...it seemed fine then...he was like "cool"...but on the day of the medical he said that the doctor kept asking him had he used drugs in the past 3 years, and INSISTED to him that they would test to make sure....now, because I live here, and I guess I just know that weed can't be traced back any further than 30 days or so, I never really thought that that would be an issue...I just assumed that people pretty much knew that, but I guess not...unfortunately, he told them the truth because he was fearful that they would somehow find out and would deny him the visa...and for his honesty we have paid the price....I have never seen a man cry so much before in my life...and I have truly never felt more broken spirited and hopeless...I don't know where to go from here because I just knew that everything was going to work out according to plan...this has been the most devastating experience of my life....I wish everyone up here luck, and please please please heed the medical warnings---THESE PEOPLE ARE SO CANNIVING AND SNEAKY!! This was a hard lesson learned...I'm not sure what other options are available to us...we've talked, and we do both agree wholeheartedly that being together is what matters the most in the world to us...its just knowing what to do next (if there's anything we CAN do) that is the problem...like I said before, thank you for your well wishes!! I will definitely continue to post here and be of any help if I can...the actual interview experience-NO PROBLEM! Everyone have a wonderful evening and a good day at work tomorrow!!

He made the best choice given the circumstance. The probability of it coming up at the interview is high and it's best not to lie especially if they have some proof. The admitted use was over 7 years ago

    That's Belly's Girls post ^^^

  10. And don't tek the urine weed test as gospel many people have been given blood and/or hair tests

I'll get back to you about whether they gave him the results or not.

Are you SURE this is right?

I have NEVER heard of anyone being given a hair test at ANY embassy...I could of course be wrong.

I would not have posted it if I wasn't sure. Just because you've never heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. rolleye0010.gif

  12. So Melvin was scheduled to go for his medical exam today in Mobay but then they called and said for him to come tomorrow 8/22 so we will see how that goes. We are not even sure if the he will be able to get to Mobay due to the uprooted trees and electricity poles down on the streets. We are hoping for a positive outcome tomorrow. He still has no electricity in Bala Clava, some of Santa Cruz, and Mulgrave. He has been talking to me since the hurricane and immediately turning off both phones. Melvin did find a Juicy Beef in Santa Cruz, bought something to eat and drink, and then used an outlet to charge his phone under the table. Of course he had to act like he wasn't loittering :blink: .

If he doesn't get to go to the medical tomorrow, I am afraid that he will not have it back in time. I told him that we would still go to the embassy anyway. But really, whats the sense of me going to JA if I know that he will receive a blue paper because of his missing medical exam? Yes, to see him but the main reason was to accompany him at the interview. Quite frankly, I am a little confused :help: . It will cost me $100 dollars to change the ticket and he would probably be rescheduled for another interview date once the medical exam comes in. We'll see. Maybe I am just jumping the gun and over exaggerating (hype).

Any great words of wisdom? Thanks very much appreciated.

I think you should still go. Mr. Man got rescheduled for tomorrow also and I heard that now they give you the medical report in a sealed envelope to take to the interview. So don't fret yourself.
