FINALLY!!! Exactly 3 months since my biometrics, I got the card production email!!!!

Interestingly, this morning I gave USCIS a call inquiring on my status which the lady basically just told what I already know. After a couple of hours I got the email. Whether there's a connection or pure coincidence, I don't know. Good luck to everyone!!!!

"Per Officer Fair at the NCSC#:

All appointments scheduled on July 7th, 8th and 9th have been cancelled (nationwide) . The USCIS will be uploading new fingerprinting equipment that week. Everyone should be rescheduled within 1-2 weeks"

My appointment is on the tenth but I guess they just want to play safe and cancel the whole week.

Maybe appointment cancellation is related to green card production delay as reported by USCIS....

Permanent Resident Card Production Delays

USCIS is announcing that applicants may experience up to an eight week delay in the delivery of their permanent resident card while we are in the process of upgrading our card production equipment. USCIS Field Offices will be issuing temporary evidence of permanent residence in the form of an I-551 stamp to applicants approved for permanent residence at the time of their interview. You will need to take your passport to your appointment. If you do not have a passport, you must bring a passport style photo and government issued photo identification to receive temporary evidence of permanent residence.

If the application is approved subsequent to your interview or by a Service Center or the National Benefit Center, the applicant should bring the above documents to an INFOPASS appointment to be issued temporary evidence of permanent residence in the form of an I-551 stamp.

Just got my biometrics appointment date (July 10).

This is weird.... I just got an NOA saying 'Appointment Cancelled' (No need to appear at ASC). It means they cancelled my biometrics for July 10 which is in Chula Vista (county of San Diego). The thing is this letter and the biometrics letter both have the same notice date which is 6/18/2009. Maybe they made a mistake in setting the appointment. I can't avoid the biometrics cause I paid for it ($80). I'm not at all worried since my documents are pretty extensive and my wife and I have twokids. Its just that this probably could cause some delay. any ideas?

I think this thread will be flooded with cancellation of appointments. It seems its not just me....What's going on with USCIS?

Just got my biometrics appointment date (July 10).

My license expires when my conditional card does as well, in Virginia, they did not send me a reminder.

I went in the day after I got my NOA1 and they gave me a new license, good for a year from the Receipt Date on the NOA1.

This will be my 3rd license with Virginia in 2.5 years

My driver's license expires on the same date as my conditional residency. And I suppose this is true for most if not all of us. Are we suppose to receive a renewal letter from DMV?

i filed my aos may 15, 2007...today sept 10 i got my green card...roughly 4 months. good luck to everybody.

try calling the dmv ca hotline and they will direct you to dmv sacramento thier legal department. it happened to me i just faxed my NOAs and i94 and they mailed me a 60 day extension. my i94 expired last july 16.

1-916-657-7445. try calling that number its dmv sacramento california's legal something. i got my extension thru them. it arrived in my mail within 3 days.

can a conditional permanent resident travel to canada or any other country that requires visa?

well im not an expert but im just stating my experience in case it may work with her or any other resident living in california who happen to read this thing. we are all here i just to help each other.

Please give your advice next time someone asks about California DL. DL threads occur all the time on here and they are always full of unhelpful comments about people's experience in other states that just leads to confusion. I realise that you are just trying to help.

Dr_LHA - I think that what danieljoaquin wrote could be helpful to someone - he clearly stated that it was for California - many times what works for one person in one state is a help for someone in another state - it gets the ball rolling to know what may work, what a person may need to present or discuss. You aren't a moderator and saying what you did in the way you did to a newbie is unkind.
