  1. Hi, I had my AOS interview on 8/23/07 and the officer told me that my I-130 was approved. and then I noticed the case status on USCIS changed on 01/27/08 as following:

Current Status: Case approval certified and sent for review.

On August 23, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we certified our approval of this case and sent it to the appropriate appellate body for review. They will notify you directly when they make a final decision. If you move before then, please call customer service and also follow any instructions on the notice. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

my question is that is my case approved or still under somebody's review? thanks.

  2. Hi, I got the interview at new york office yesterday, you may find my interview experience from the link:

Since the security check still in process, I didn't get any status change for my I-485 case, but I do get the 'case approved' for my I-130.

Does anyone have a similiar situation like this? What I can do next? thanks.

Don't worry. From what you wrote it sounds like the AO would have approved you if your name check had been cleared. Now all you can do is sit back and wait for the name check to clear. Hope you won't have to wait too long :)

Thank all of you of your encourage and help!

  3. Congratulations on the successful interview yygo! Hopefully you won't be caught up in the name check much longer.

BlueRain congratulations on the successful interview, and your hubby is probably right, about 2 weeks for receiving your green card! Glad to hear the Seattle office treated you right!

Congratulations on receipt of the green card texas bunny!

  5. Our interview was scheduled for 1:15pm, we were there around 12:15pm and get into the building around 12:30pm, wait in the room for about 55 min and got called in at 1:25pm.

After we went into a small office, the officer asked us to be sworned in. And then the interview began:

the questions to my wife(she is the US citizen):

    - when did you meet the first time? where?

    - When did you start date?

    - When did you get married, where?

    - what is your current address?

    - Did you buy your house before you get married?

    - Do you bring the original marriage certificate and the birth certificate

    the questions to me:

    - show me your passport

    - the yes/no questions from the I-485 application form.

    - Do you have the origianl docs, such as, joint account, insurence, utility bill, mortgage...

(give the officer the original and copy, she kept the copy).

The officer then asked for the photos and asked about the people in the photos, I gave her more details about some pictures. The officer kept 2 pictures.

At the end of the interview, the officer said she is fine with my case but since the security check still in process, I have to wait until that get cleared. I didn't get any stamp on my passport.

The whole interview only last about 15 min and it is painless. I am a little bit nervous since I didn't get approval like other people did.

I got the I-130 case approved this morning but no touch for my I-485 case.

Does anyone have a similiar situation like this before? thanks.

  7. Welcome to the May filers!

Just out of curiousity, how was your biometrics appointment issued before your NOA1 (receipts)?

That is the same question I asked USCIS when I got bio appointment, they said let me wait for one more week for NOA1 and I got the all NOA1 the next day. it is strange.

Karly-n-Bruce, I got the Bio appointment(notice date: 5/11/07) letter by mail on 5/14/07 and all NOA1(notice date: 5/5/7) letters on 5/15/07. Sorry about the confusion.
