  1. I am currently a dual citizen UK/USA. I am currently residing in the USA.

I have recently found out that a close relative of mine doesn't have long to live. I have several problems at short notice "of course". I am trying to meet the requirement to be able to get in to the UK as well as obtain an emergency or quick passport for the wife.

I must meet the criteria for the test results and I am turning up empty as not many places can confirm their test specifics:

Test providers and type of test

You will need to find a test provider. You must make sure that the test provider can meet the standards for pre-departure testing.

The test must meet performance standards of ≥97% specificity, ≥80% sensitivity at viral loads above 100,000 copies/ml.

This could include tests such as:

    • a nucleic acid test, including a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test or derivative technologies, including loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) tests
    • an antigen test, such as a test from a lateral flow device

The other thing is meeting the demands of being able to obtain a passport for my wife who has never owned one at last minute. The problem is, she doesn't seem to meet the requirements for "immediate relative" of the person that is sick. All this is last minute so looking for help to see if there is anything i can do. To figure this out on a Sunday afternoon as I'm sure someone has been in position to some degree or has some inside knowledge. Any help would be of great help to us.

I will contact the passport office tomorrow. I am wondering if there is a list of places also that offer the specific tests that allow us to board a plane to which the government is asking of us.

  2. I have worked and lived in the states for 6 years now currently a US citizen. I have around 10 years of full NHS contributions. Is it worth to pay voluntary taxes to the UK government + backdate the last 6 years so i can recieve a full pension there? I don't currently intend on returning in the next 5 years but starting to think out the box.

I see there is CLASS 2 and CLASS 3 which i don't understand.

    Thanks for your help
