She ended up making an infopass appointment yesterday and talked to a guy there. He recommended that she write a letter to USCIS describing the situation and request a new biometrics appointment. Then, as she was in the car on the way home, the guy from the infopass meeting actually called her because he felt bad for her and said he would personally put in a request for a new biometrics appointment and that she should get something in the mail within the next 10-15 days. He said if she didn't get anything in the mail that she could call him personally to help push things through.

Surprised the heck out of me how someone from USCIS was so willing to help.

The situation:

Somebody I know got her green card and had conditions removed. She then got divorced and requested a name change back to her maiden name. She filed the I-90 form last September to change the name and replace the green card. She received a NOA saying that the application had been approved and that she should wait for a letter with information regarding her biometric appointment and that if she did not hear from them within 90 days that she should call. She called after 90 days had passed (approximately three weeks ago) since she had not heard anything and they said there had not been a letter sent out with the biometric appointment information and that they would put in a request to have one sent out. Yesterday she received a letter in the mail saying that she had failed to appear at the biometric appointment (biometric appointment date last November) and that the application was denied for failure to appear. She called USCIS in a panic asking what to do, because she needs to have her name changed by mid-March. The person she talked to at USCIS suggested that she either refile the I-90 request for name change or file a I-290B (dispute), but the person at USCIS stopped short of admitting they screwed up. Does anybody know what would be the quickest way to rectify the situation? Does she have any hope of getting her name changed/new green card within the next month?

I never finished high school. Eric and I became best friends freshman year of high school when we dated two mid-20's female porn stars who knew each other. My wife (LPR) and I (USC) would like for her mother and two sisters to be able to visit for a month or two here in the US. Is this possible? My wife's friends who are LPR's keep telling her that the USC can petition on behalf of their in-laws to help them get visitor visas. Her friends tell her that they either have done it or know LPR's who have brought up relatives to visit by doing this (through a USC spouse). I know my wife, as an LPR, can't petition her family to live here permanently until she's a USC. I was just wondering if we can get them here on a visit. Anyone know?

Actually, Ewok is an incredibly busy man who has a life away from VJ. He gets online when he can. Incidentally, an excellent way to endear yourself to someone is to tell them they've got no marbles and insult them!

I will admit that I do naturally find men significantly taller than me more attractive. But it is just not that they should be tall, but also well-built. It's just so happened that I never dated anyone shorter than me. Most averaged about 6 foot tall. The shortest was 5"8 and he had the smallest ####### I had ever seen on a man in person. Maybe 3 inches hard? I wish I were lying. He was also quite a jerk otherwise. I think we dated for 2-3 months before I kicked myself in the azz for wasting so much time with him and broke up.

I also do have longer hair and my husband loves it. My husband had hair almost as long as mine at one point also though.

I'm a shorty (5'-7"), and most of the women I dated were the same height or shorter. I dated a girl in high school/college though who was 5'-10" for about two years. But my biggest accomplishment height-wise was when I hooked up a few times with a girl I used to play in co-ed doubles outdoor volleyball tournaments with...6'-3" The shortest woman is the one I ended up marrying...Erika's 5'-1". I don't think we'll be having any future basketball players.

I read in an article on ESPN last night (can't find it now) that the prison OJ is most likely to end up in is in Ely, Nevada. I think the article said the main group there that more or less "runs things" was called something like the Aryan Warriors. I'm guessing if OJ does end up there, his new Warrior friends will see to it that he receives a fair "delayed sentence" for the two murders

bleh, if I was in brazil i'd receive my 13th salary this month (that's like a bonus salary, for example, you make 2k a month, then in december you get an extra 2k, instead of 12 2k a year, u get 13)

We've received "Christmas bonuses" every year since I've been at my job. We've been warned not to spend the money before we get it this year...because it may not be coming (see news on economy). Alright with me though...I'm just happy to have a job I really like with a fun bunch of peeps. It sounds like I'm not in any danger of being laid off either, which is good considering we're in the residential construction industry.
