    Hello,

I was told everything was on hold for processing interview due to Covid19. I have seen people traveling in and out of Nigeria.

What's the hold on K1 at US Consulate Lagos?

USCIS approved April 2020 from California.

NVC still pending approval at this time and not ready for interview yet.

DS160 was completed a few months back.

What can we do now to expedite or get help somewhere to get my husband here in the USA?

Hire a lawyer? Talk to Nigerian Immigration? American Immigration?

    Please guide me. Thank you.

    Marie

we hope something is done urgently!

This is consulate specific. If they resumed processing K1 visas then your case will move from NVC to the consulate. If they’re not processing K1s, then it will stay at NVC indefinitely (until they resume processing them).

Please fill out your timeline so we know which country you’ll be interviewing in.

thank you..I 'll be interviewed in Nigeria.

Usually, thirty transit time to NVC from USCIS and then another 2-4 weeks for case number to be assigned. Without the case number you cannot complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. So, can't fill out the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and can't just yet, pay the interview fee.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

    Thanks

THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. I HAVE DONE THAT. KINDLY LOOK AGAIN

There is a thread that many of you should consider being a part of the conversation. Many topics are discussed as it relates to the Nigerian process and embassy matters.

Also, this is a topic that should be a part of the sub-forum area, where there is many more threads discussing what happens in Nigeria.

    Hey everyone.

I had my K-1 visa interview in March at the embassy in Lagos Nigeria before the embassy shut down. I'm starting to get worried at this point, we have not heard anything. Please is there anything we can do other than to wait? Do we need to contact or email them? Please anyone has any information to share.

    Thank you.

was your visa approved? To the best of my knowledge the country is under a travel ban

I do not but I would have posted the title as a question and not a statement.

Do not rely on information from unofficial sources. Look at official sources; USCIS, embassy websites, official Facebook pages etc. In doubt email the embassy and ask your question.

yes,i did look everywhere, but dint find the information. I contacted the immigration vlogger who made the statement, he simply said such informations are not usually published and that I can call the embassy for confirmation.

you listen to an immigration coach who does not mention that on January 31st US administration added Nigeria to the list of banned countries

    it reads

(ii)  The entry into the United States of nationals of Nigeria as immigrants, except as Special Immigrants whose eligibility is based on having provided assistance to the United States Government, is hereby suspended.

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-improving-enhanced-vetting-capabilities-processes-detecting-attempted-entry/

any application will go thru the process even to the point of being interviewed but until this ban is lifted a visa to come will be in limbo

that being said your USC gf has plenty of time to get a 2nd job to show the needed income as she also has to show she can afford health care for you

Thanks for the reply,I'm aware of the travel ban. however, are you saying that my fiancee also needs to have a job even though her mother makes enough to sponsor me. I'm asking because, she dosent want to find another job for now but focus on schooling.
