Filing our petition to remove conditions. What did you all add in and did you get called in to be interviewed in person? If you havent done this yet, I'm not looking for advice - just facts from couples that already did it. Thanks.

Interesting topic...
My wife does not have any feelings of being in contact with Russian people here in the US. So, we have never really even tried to look. When she first arrived a few years ago we tried comminicating with some Russian people but it never works out. She is quite content with going to college and communicating with her girlfriends in her hometown. She told me she would not even want her g'friends coming here to visit. Go figure..

Just a note, we didn't have any phone records and were not even asked about them. All the photos we had of us together in Russia, Egypt, China and especially together with her family seemed to be all our interviewer needed. He didn't even need to see our emails we had with us.

Definitly try internetcalls which was mentioned previously. 10 euros every 90 days and my wife talks to family and her girlfriends as long as she wants. She's very happy with it. You do need a headset and a broadband connection. Happy wife=happy home!

Finally got our adjustment of status behind us, greencard in hand and now my wife can finally travel home to see her family. She is concerned about whether to use her married name or her maiden name on the flight tickets. Shes worried that when leaving Russia they will stop her at passport check because her Russian passport shows her maiden name, her greencard shows her married name and her ticket shows her married name. Shes probably right they will give her a hard time. Anyway, anybody that has gone through this already - I would really value any input. I already got her ticket in her married name but I'm not sure if I should change it. The last problem I need is my wife not being able to return home because of some jack*** in passport control. Thanks!

WoW, It didnt even cross my mind about filing as married yet and weve been married 7 months already. Looking foward to that tax return already.

Bring EVERYTHING you hve since you started filing PLUS what they tell you in your appointment letter.

We got ours about a month in a half in advance. Just keep an eye on this website while your away..

They wanted me to go back 3 years on my taxes. Send what you have if theres an issue they'll let you know about it. Make sure she gets a ds-3025 from Moscow that way you can get your supplemental i-693 filled out when shes in the states.

I never heard of that and we didn't do it, arrived in US with no problem. As long as she has a K1 visa in her passport she should not have a problem.

We argued with every dam civil surgeon in our area. No possible way to get i without another full examination. Some people have all the luck and breeze right through this. My wifes examination from Moscow is on a ds-2053. I thought it was on a i-693. No ds-3025 was recorded in Moscow. Civil surgeoons here could not translate her immunization record and didnt believe our word for it. I cant even put a word on how pissed of I was (still am) about this. Probably 10 different civil surgeons-same story. Last ditch effort she found a Russian civil surgeon by contacting the owners of a Russian store by where we live. Thank God
No problems! We went the same day, no appointment necessary since my wife is Russian the doc told her. She gave her the shots she needs, translated her immunization record, filled out her i-693 and i-693a and we pick it up tomorrow signed and sealed for our interview in a few weeks. I cant believe the bs we had to put up with.
All I can say is good luck and I hope you dont have to go through what we did..

Somewhere around two weeks is probably pretty accurate. Give or take a month or two. That's just how it works in Russia.
If your S/O hasn't received it within 45 days of the interview date, I'd start e-mailing. If you're only about 30 days out, I'd start calling. If it's only going to be a week or two, and you still don't have the packet... just print the forms out from the website and fill them in yourself. Call and confirm the time/date and let the embassy know no packet was receieved but the interview will go on as scheduled.
Well, our interview is November 1st and no packet as of yet. I called the embassy today and was told that these packets often don't come at all, "just read the instructions on the website, download the forms and come to the interview" - that's what I was told. But I am just wondering - are you supposed to mail them a checklist prior to the interview? Or you don't have to mail anything in Russia, just show up with all the documents on the scheduled day? I am a bit confused now...
You don't mail them anything. The packet is just copies of forms and instructions in Russian. Download the forms from the website and thats it. Our packet arrived just a few weeks before the interview date.

I was just looking over the I-797C form we received last week and I just noticed the A# printed on the form is different. I thought I would ask here before I call to see what the deal is. The application number is correct and its showing her married name now. I'm sure they just don't go and change the A# for no reason.
Also its saying to bring a completed medical examination form I-693 and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted). Isn't that the sealed medical info we handed over when we entered the country? I don't want to do all that again if we don't have to.

Yeah, an rfe will set you back and put a damper on the day for sure. We only got one and consider ourselves lucky it was for something easy to fix
-
No, unfortunatly you have to get a K1, no easy way around it.

Hello everyone. We finally registered today. Ive been here a while reading along our way. This site has helped me so much in getting to where we are now. Our AOS has been filed and is pending. Hopefully approval will come soon with no rfe.

lol I hear ya. I was cool with my in laws until I went to stay with them for a few months. Biggest mistake of my life, and after that nightmare I do realize that it will be very easy to live without them. The closest I want to get is when I have to say hello through skype.
